truly a masterpiece man, theres very few games that broke me on the inside but this game did it, i try to find other games that can replicate that first experience i got playing this game but i never got it man, i grew up yet this game still feels special to me, in a weird way, it helps me to become a better person 😅

This moment for me is definitely the SECOND scariest moment in the game, I feel like Sayori’s death topped it slightly on my first playthrough though. (Likely because I was one of the people convinced it was a normal VN) But definitely left me uncomfortable in my chair having to stare at yuri slowly dying over the course of the weekend.

This game is special to me, I played it in one of the most darkest time in my childhood, the ending is so depressing yet I'm glad it is, even tho I shouldn't play that game when I'm in a slumber of bad emotions, I'm glad I did cuz in a weird way this game shows me what real life is, even if you want good endings for things in ur life such as relationships, dreams, jobs, etc, sometimes it just simply wouldn't happen, n sometimes it's okay to not have good endings for things that u love. One of the many reasons why I love this game, I could talk about this shit for hours n hours lol. I grew up yet this game still feels special to me, I'll never forget about this game n that magical fun yet depressing experience playing it for the first time, seriously one of the best game I've played in my life, really happy to see people like you still remembering & showing love to this game!
I get you totally, and agree. The music itself is inherently sad and slightly creepy, but I can’t shake the feeling that there is something weirdly off while listening to it. Even if it is just slowed “play with me”, chills, literal chills.
This game always makes me feel some sort of melancholic emptiness, a feeling that surely doesn't feel good, but remains as what keeps me coming back to the game every time. I'm not sure what it is, but, this music doesn't make me feel calm or sad, I think it provokes a deep part of me, a thought provoking feeling, so thought provoking and seemingly..necessary, it could almost become an addiction.
There's one thing in the game that blows my ming. The way life leaves her. Her eyes and skin are getting paler. It's like her spirit is just evaporating off her body, leaving a empty shell. I'm young and I have never seen the dying human, so this moment made me think hard.
An interesting assumption. But it seems to me that it's just because of the way of death. It's just that she's lost a lot of blood. And her body turned a ghastly pale shade. The eyes dried up due to, again, blood loss, and also because they had been open for 3 days. The only thing that may seem suspicious is the fact that immediately after death she has a barely noticeable smile on her face. We know that in the second act, Yuri went crazy, and everything suggests that she was having fun, which is weird. But by the end of the weekend, the smile is slipping off her face. This is alarming. How thoughtful is this game anyway
You my friend have just described rotting away. Natural part of life, however we never see us humans looking at humans rotting away but the Yuri scene definitely feels like witnessing that
Why does this picture fit though? Like in an alternative ending, we comfort Yuri and ask her why she wanted to do that to herself, and you find her making this solem and sad expression, with this music playing in the background. The game freezes just like her death for the weekend but this would be equally as heartbreaking ngl.
It really isn't much of a mystery. It has already been stated in the game that Yuri's self harm behavior directly correspond to her happiness. It is essentially a ticking time bomb for her to compulsively "self destruct" once she felt enough joy from the company with the protagonist; thus it is to assume that she wasn't entirely in control of herself when "self destructing". In extension to that, Monika is sort of right; especially if you really look at Yuri as an artificial personality who is programmed to be attracted to the protagonist, the betrayal inflicted by her death is just another inevitability for as long as the club existing.

DDLC.. It's been 4 years. Damn. I miss when this game was all over the place. It was amazing. I have to say, DDLC was one of the most well plotted games, as well as every twist. It looked all sweet, and you mistook it completely, horror. The girls you fall in love with, one by one, dying. Until you're finally left with one. God- this game creeps me out, but I'll forever have it in my heart. Thank you to Team Salvato for this absolute masterpiece!! (They'll never read this but y'know.) Thank you for your time lol. this whole game was truly terrifying. a masterpiece. it left me with no sleep for days. it was macabre, obscene, this game had the boldness to explore such themes without doing anything that would make the experience better for the player. this is a game which is made purely for terrifying people, and it worked
Yuri was honestly my favourite character out of the bunch, She’s had the second most best character writing (my opinion), she felt somewhat real when I played the game, I genuinely loved her as a character from DDLC. It’s sad you can’t really bring her back… this music and image just reminds me of Yuri from DDLC and how her character was written. Rip Yuri…

fr, I can't help but just feel extremely sad for her, because she's very smart, and she very well knew something was wrong both with her and with her environment, she even said it right before stabbing herself, she literally said "Oh boy, there's something really wrong with me, isn't there?" (Or something along the lines), I honestly see it as that there are 2 possibilities as to why she killed herself, either because she wanted to save us because deep down, she knew that she was gonna hurt us, but she loved us so she stopped herself that way, or either because she simply loved us so much she couldn't handle it, her obsessive behavior intensified it so much she just couldn't bear it and had to end her life right then and there (this if you accept her confession, but if you don't then it's because she can't handle the rejection). But yeah, I think it's the first one honestly

She dies either way because of the game but if you say yes it's because she couldn't handle it and if you said no, it was because she felt rejected. tbh Yuri and Sayori's routes are very similar but they are still different.

Monika led her to make it happen (even though Monika did admit that she had no intention of making her commit suicide, Monika thought that by amplifying her depression she'd make Sayori not confess, but the opposite happened), because her depression got amplified by Monika, didn't you notice how Sayori doesn't want to feel loved? And still when she doesn't, a part inside her wants to so, if you say yes, it's because her depression doesn't just go away by you loving her, and she doesn't feel like she deserves your love, so, she does it. And if you say no, since she doesn't know what feeling loved feels like, and she wanted to all along (even though when you do, as you've seen before she realizes that she still feels that way, but in this case since you rejected her and you don't love her then she wouldn't know what it feels like and wouldn't know that it would fix none of her problems), so basically now she thinks nobody loves her and does suicide + also because of her depression. But except all of that, yeah, she also probably knew there wasn't something right with her. Also because already from the first instance, their personality and traits are slightly amplified, at the start of the game tho it's because of the game script that makes them fall in love with you, not Monika, and this is confirmed by the Side stories which just shows how the girls really are when there is no MC around. And I feel like Sayori could see all of that, even tho she never said it I also feel like she probably knew something wasn't really right with her

She had seen enough. Too much. It would not be ok. Why would it be ok? His fingers curled around the girl’s hand which was beginning to grow more unsteady. Her eyes began watering, as if she were to tear up emotionally. His arms went to cradle her, but she sped away from his embrace, seemingly mindless about her directions. Her feet stumbled hastily towards a window and, without thinking, her body threw itself out. The breaking of glass pierced the silent class as shards scratched her arms and legs. Time stood still, and he was finally aware. So was she. Their eyes met for a brief second, and he saw a mix of fear, guilty realisation of her action but also a tinge of relief. Time continued, and her body mercilessly plummeted into the ground. A gut wrenching crack sent a wave of fear down his spine as he leapt to the mangled window. His impulses were too strong for him to resist and he peered down, only to be met with another mortifying corpse. On the floor, her body lay in a pool of blood, broken and pale. There was no point. He was there, and he made her kill herself. The last look on her face imprinted itself onto his mind; a combination of fright and solace. Ever since the day that I played this game, I had been thinking day and night about everything more than before… I loved this game more than anything else because of the fact that it was and is so relatable in every aspect possible… This music is the most soothing thing that there is to me in life… thanks for reading this, I probably wont even know you, but I just want to express my own thoughts for once.

I remember when I first fully played through DDLC I was starting to fall asleep during this scene; not that I was bored or didn't care about Yuri, (she had easily become my favorite by then), there was just something hauntingly relaxing about the music and the dimly lit room I was playing it in along with the almost peaceful look on Yuri's face. I lied down with the dialogue on auto while trying to stay awake until I was startled awake by Natsuki's scene afterwards. I ended up going to bed shortly after, I felt odd after, like I should've had more of a reaction, after all, Yuri was my favorite, (to be fair, I had known everything about the game beforehand so that probably had something to do with it). The only thing I really felt was a sense of emptiness, like a part of me died with her. Since then I've gone through the whole weekend without skipping whenever I replay DDLC.

This game is special to me, I played it in one of the most darkest time in my childhood, the ending is so depressing yet I'm glad it is, even tho I shouldn't play that game when I'm in a slumber of bad emotions, I'm glad I did cuz in a weird way this game shows me what real life is, even if you want good endings for things in ur life such as relationships, dreams, jobs, etc, sometimes it just simply wouldn't happen, n sometimes it's okay to not have good endings for things that u love.
One of the many reasons why I love this game, I could talk about this shit for hours n hours lol.
I grew up yet this game still feels special to me, I'll never forget about this game n that magical fun yet depressing experience playing it for the first time, seriously one of the best game I've played in my life, really happy to see people like you still remembering & showing love to this game!

I get you totally, and agree. The music itself is inherently sad and slightly creepy, but I can’t shake the feeling that there is something weirdly off while listening to it. Even if it is just slowed “play with me”, chills, literal chills.
Yess, in some way it is calm and comfy song, but in other it rlly feels like something is wrong, that something isn't as that how you expected
This game always makes me feel some sort of melancholic emptiness, a feeling that surely doesn't feel good, but remains as what keeps me coming back to the game every time. I'm not sure what it is, but, this music doesn't make me feel calm or sad, I think it provokes a deep part of me, a thought provoking feeling, so thought provoking and seemingly..necessary, it could almost become an addiction.
There's one thing in the game that blows my ming. The way life leaves her. Her eyes and skin are getting paler. It's like her spirit is just evaporating off her body, leaving a empty shell. I'm young and I have never seen the dying human, so this moment made me think hard.
An interesting assumption. But it seems to me that it's just because of the way of death. It's just that she's lost a lot of blood. And her body turned a ghastly pale shade. The eyes dried up due to, again, blood loss, and also because they had been open for 3 days. The only thing that may seem suspicious is the fact that immediately after death she has a barely noticeable smile on her face. We know that in the second act, Yuri went crazy, and everything suggests that she was having fun, which is weird. But by the end of the weekend, the smile is slipping off her face. This is alarming. How thoughtful is this game anyway
You my friend have just described rotting away. Natural part of life, however we never see us humans looking at humans rotting away but the Yuri scene definitely feels like witnessing that

Why does this picture fit though? Like in an alternative ending, we comfort Yuri and ask her why she wanted to do that to herself, and you find her making this solem and sad expression, with this music playing in the background. The game freezes just like her death for the weekend but this would be equally as heartbreaking ngl.
It really isn't much of a mystery. It has already been stated in the game that Yuri's self harm behavior directly correspond to her happiness. It is essentially a ticking time bomb for her to compulsively "self destruct" once she felt enough joy from the company with the protagonist; thus it is to assume that she wasn't entirely in control of herself when "self destructing". In extension to that, Monika is sort of right; especially if you really look at Yuri as an artificial personality who is programmed to be attracted to the protagonist, the betrayal inflicted by her death is just another inevitability for as long as the club existing.
@@glassbob9871 when you put it like that, it makes me even more sad. I mean yea there was hints in the game and stuff but knowing the club was doomed from the start is quite horrifying in it's own way. the characters are not real and monika knows she isn't in our reality.

DDLC.. It's been 4 years. Damn. I miss when this game was all over the place. It was amazing. I have to say, DDLC was one of the most well plotted games, as well as every twist. It looked all sweet, and you mistook it completely, horror. The girls you fall in love with, one by one, dying. Until you're finally left with one. God- this game creeps me out, but I'll forever have it in my heart. Thank you to Team Salvato for this absolute masterpiece!! (They'll never read this but y'know.)

Yuri was honestly my favourite character out of the bunch, She’s had the second most best character writing (my opinion), she felt somewhat real when I played the game, I genuinely loved her as a character from DDLC. fr, I can't help but just feel extremely sad for her, because she's very smart, and she very well knew something was wrong both with her and with her environment, she even said it right before stabbing herself, she literally said "Oh boy, there's something really wrong with me, isn't there?" (Or something along the lines), I honestly see it as that there are 2 possibilities as to why she killed herself, either because she wanted to save us because deep down, she knew that she was gonna hurt us, but she loved us so she stopped herself that way, or either because she simply loved us so much she couldn't handle it, her obsessive behavior intensified it so much she just couldn't bear it and had to end her life right then and there (this if you accept her confession, but if you don't then it's because she can't handle the rejection). But yeah, I think it's the first one honestly

She dies either way because of the game but if you say yes it's because she couldn't handle it and if you said no, it was because she felt rejected.
tbh Yuri and Sayori's routes are very similar but they are still different.

Monika led her to make it happen (even though Monika did admit that she had no intention of making her commit suicide, Monika thought that by amplifying her depression she'd make Sayori not confess, but the opposite happened), because her depression got amplified by Monika, didn't you notice how Sayori doesn't want to feel loved? And still when she doesn't, a part inside her wants to so, if you say yes, it's because her depression doesn't just go away by you loving her, and she doesn't feel like she deserves your love, so, she does it. And if you say no, since she doesn't know what feeling loved feels like, and she wanted to all along (even though when you do, as you've seen before she realizes that she still feels that way, but in this case since you rejected her and you don't love her then she wouldn't know what it feels like and wouldn't know that it would fix none of her problems), so basically now she thinks nobody loves her and does suicide + also because of her depression.
But except all of that, yeah, she also probably knew there wasn't something right with her. Also because already from the first instance, their personality and traits are slightly amplified, at the start of the game tho it's because of the game script that makes them fall in love with you, not Monika, and this is confirmed by the Side stories which just shows how the girls really are when there is no MC around. And I feel like Sayori could see all of that, even tho she never said it I also feel like she probably knew something wasn't really right with her

He could sense the terror running through her veins as her eyes fell upon the decaying corpse. Yet it didn't stop his body from yanking itself upright and clinging to the horrified girl. He had to tell her it was ok, so he could at least pour some relief into her soul, but it was useless. She had seen enough. Too much. It would not be ok. Why would it be ok? His fingers curled around the girl’s hand which was beginning to grow more unsteady. Her eyes began watering, as if she were to tear up emotionally. His arms went to cradle her, but she sped away from his embrace, seemingly mindless about her directions. Her feet stumbled hastily towards a window and, without thinking, her body threw itself out.
The breaking of glass pierced the silent class as shards scratched her arms and legs. Time stood still, and he was finally aware. So was she. Their eyes met for a brief second, and he saw a mix of fear, guilty realisation of her action but also a tinge of relief. Time continued, and her body mercilessly plummeted into the ground. A gut wrenching crack sent a wave of fear down his spine as he leapt to the mangled window. His impulses were too strong for him to resist and he peered down, only to be met with another mortifying corpse.
On the floor, her body lay in a pool of blood, broken and pale. Her eyes were still and motionless, her expression a mixture of dread and consolation. A broken arm with a massive gash in the flesh, a result of her desperate attempt to live. The stench of decay and rot filled the air. The faint smell of decomposition permeated from the lifeless corpse to the room. Her body looked peaceful, but like something had been ripped away, something that her soul had yet to abandon in peace. Like a hollow shell of a human, taken by the grips of death.
His eyes continued to glare in terror at the body of the girl he thought that he'd love forever. He couldn't help but embrace the wave of guilt, knowing that this woman he could've been with was dead because of him. Tears welled up in his eyes, and he didn't dare blame anyone else. There was no point. He was there, and he made her kill herself. The last look on her face imprinted itself onto his mind; a combination of fright and solace. But he could not shake away the sound of her body slamming into the ground, the trembling of her hand or the way her eyes stared into his. He tried to pour his understanding and comfort into her, but she avoided it. A sudden noise caused him to jerk his head around to see his best friend. She wore a small smile on her face yet he couldn't tell whether the smile was one of regretfulness or satisfaction.

@@AgragonNogard personally I think sayori is slightly overrated by the fandom (Obviously she's still an amazing and well-writen character) but yeah I do agree that this is one of the best soundtracks in the game
I remember when I first fully played through DDLC I was starting to fall asleep during this scene; not that I was bored or didn't care about Yuri, (she had easily become my favorite by then), there was just something hauntingly relaxing about the music and the dimly lit room I was playing it in along with the almost peaceful look on Yuri's face. I lied down with the dialogue on auto while trying to stay awake until I was startled awake by Natsuki's scene afterwards. I ended up going to bed shortly after, I felt odd after, like I should've had more of a reaction, after all, Yuri was my favorite, (to be fair, I had known everything about the game beforehand so that probably had something to do with it). The only thing I really felt was a sense of emptiness, like a part of me died with her. Since then I've gone through the whole weekend without skipping whenever I replay DDLC.
It's not okay that I find this relaxing but here we are
