I love your explanations about all the processes in the body. You make everything very understandable and also fun to watch. You have contributed so much to our education and why we should do certain things like taking anti-oxidants. I am a patreon member and I would say that it is very worthwhile and a small amount for the information you give out you've kept us all going over the past few years. God bless you.
Really appreciate having this summary, thank you for preparing it for the public, Dr Been. QUESTION: Is there an optimal time frame for taking the appropriate antioxidants, e.g. a certain number of hours after a meal or after exposure to a toxicant?
Good question. Usually with the food or little after of the food is going to have ingredients that will produce ROS. For example glucoses and fried foods. Otherwise, anytime that suits you.
You are welcome. Lecture prep is hardwork. Find studies. Read them. Figure out the illustrations. Rehearse these illustrations. Talk to the mirror. And, deliver it for your viewing pleasure.
@DrBeenMedicalLectures wish you make live for lecture prep in coolbeens care we'd be so enthusiastic to know how knowledge are rearranged and represented here in an informative lecture
Carbohydrates damage proteins in many ways. A) glycation and advanced glycation end products. Proteins malfunction. B) reactive oxygen species production leading to misfolded proteins. C) osmotic pressure damage. And, more.
I have often wondered if the Krebs cycle isn't playing a role. You did mention it, but didn't go into the details. Do you already have a video where you discuss how it could be playing a role, or will you cover it in a future video?
At 24:35 carbon double bonded to another carbon is shown with 5 bonds. Carbon can only have 4. Therefore, each carbon should be shown with only 2 hydrogens because of the double bond.
Ty Dr. Been...good to here from you again..😊
This tied up the issue of lipid reactive specie so well. Thank you so much DrBeen! Much love.

Dr. Been did I hear you correctly in a previous video that excessive carbohydrates cause proteins to become misfolded? Thank you for your videos.

If vit C and vit E are taken together will this prevent molecule oxygenation in the cell mytrichondria as well as preventing the lipids being damaged.
Mitochondria benefits more from CoQ10. But, vitamin E will help too.
