Mix, mix and mix some more and just when you think it is blended mix it again. I made the mistake of not doing so. The second go at it turned out amazing. I love the little cups with the confetti at the top. Super cute.
I loved this and thank you for sharing the fails too. I tried out UV resin and had so much fun I thought I’d give epoxy resin a try. That box has been sitting in my craft cubby for months because I’ve been too nervous to fail. Gonna give it a go this holiday season and see what happens :)
you can tell resin is mixed well enough if you can see the cloudiness is gone when you mix the 2 parts. than I usually mix another extra minute or two👌 I suggest you get clear cups, its easy to mark measurements too( and some already have them) and its easier to see if there's any cloudiness or swirls left, you can hold them against a light . make sure to scrape along the bottom and sides of the cup, some components tend to cling onto the cup
@@MisterLarrie you did a good job, and inspired me with the sprinkle shot glasses... I'm gonna give it a try, and can't wait to see what you come up with for the cricut.
I really really want to play with resin stuff. I use putty resins (greenstuff) for sculpting miniatures, but I really want to play with clear resin. Thank you for sharing the fail too, this is how folks like me learn.
Love the video! Were you using a respirator when doing this? Resin is incredibly toxic especially when curing so it needs to be done in an area with good ventilation, wearing gloves, and wearing a respirator. Just want people to stay safe ☺️
Some resin can take 5 days to cure if it’s cold. It’s winter so you need to expect that it’s going to take a lot longer to cure. The thinner the item the longer it will take. This is why the thicker molds hardened more than the thinner molds. The resin I use is a 2:1 ratio and in perfect temps it takes 3 days to harden in coaster molds. During winter it will take up t a week to harden. Slowly mix for 5 mins minimum. Use a long neck bic lighter to torch your bubbles. Don’t touch the mold with the flame. Your final result is beautiful! Resin is a fickle bitch 😂😂 its a love hate for me.
Happy Happy Everything 🎄 the apron has me excited 😊 resin kit standing by

You're such a Great teacher.
You explain everything clearly.❤
You have a new subscriber.
God Bless 🙏
I'm impressed with your stick-to-it-ness! Your final pieces came out so nice 👏
I really appreciate that!!!! 🥰🥰🥰
Resin is definitely a crash course in chemistry! Digging your positivity!

There are definitely more tips and tricks out there, but hopefully I can help you avoid the bulk of those typical mistakes! Best of luck!!

Happy holidays.
Right back at ya!! 🥰
Down the rabbit hole I go… 🤣🤣🤣
I just bought a ton of molds, resins, crushed glass, color and flakes. Haven't touched shit yet, I'm scared, lol. Same thing with my cricut.
I will tell you that I’m here for all your Cricut needs! Resin? Well… gimme another crack at it first! 🤣😜

I hope you gave it all a try! Cricut has a learning curve, but is so fun once you get going!! My dad has a machine that I use every time I visit. :-)

Also some resin is measured by weight vs volume. ❤️
Those wood coasters need a sealant before putting resin in them. I use clear spray paint or clear nail polish.
Check out Steve McDonald he will guide you from the first time you get your resin x
