Yuriofwind looks like a Chinese NES port of Monster Capsule GB for the gameboy color but... missing features? Which is weird. In the GB version random encounters were determined with dice rolls in real time, and the fights were done with capsule monster chess instead of rpg battles. The plot takes place right after the end of season zero, where Kaiba is still in a coma post mind-crush. He's possessed by the millennium ring and turns Yugis friends into game pieces. It uses mechanics from two games from the manga, Monster World (D&D) and capsule monster chess.
I like how you'll acknowledge when a bootleg is actually a functional game. So many people can't seem to notice when something is done right (or even mildly well), and they end up just shitting on every tiny thing they can find.

@@yugimumoto1 Is that more complicated? The last time I saw something Yu-Gi-Oh! related was the movie where all 3 main characters from Yugioh team up. The dude from 5D's, Jaden, from the Duelist Academy, and Yugi. And also, Yugi's cameo in Jump Force as a playable character. But other than that, I haven't seen anything Yu-Gi-Oh, in a long time, besides the Abridged series by Little Kuriboh... sure do miss the guy. Love Yugioh, despite 4kids shitting on it, and shitting on One Piece with the shitty pirate rap. Read the manga though, about Season Zero. And the end of the first series. Where all the Millennium Items go back to Egypt and Atem had to go back too. And Yugi and Atem have a final duel, and Yugi's sad. And then, Yugi somehow still has the Millennium Puzzle, despite that the fact that the Millennium Items are gone forever, and Atem, isn't inside the puzzle anymore. He's just gone, and Yugi just does other duel monsters stuff. But he somehow has the puzzle. Guess he got to keep it, or keep a very convincing lookalike of the puzzle. Either one.
@@shawnfields2369 the card game has become so powercrept that it no longer resembles the game shown on the TV show. Games last usually somewhere between 3-4 turns sometimes less and a single turn can take 20 minutes to finish if not interrupted. Not to mention some cards have different interactions between other cards that differ from similar other cards so you have to know exactly how your deck works at any given time. It's by far the most complicated game I've ever played at this point. If you want a good look at how fast the game is look at any dragon link tutorial video and you'll see how long some of those combos will take.

This huge book, that explained the ACTUAL plots of the series, and the characters' ACTUAL, REAL names. Not the poor translations, or poor name changes that 4kids butchered from the series. Although, Pegasus J. Crawford, the guy who created the game Duel Monsters because he was inspired while he was on a trip in Egypt, they didn't really change his name, even in the 4kids version, and Dan Green is awesome. And Pegasus J. Crawford is the dude's real name. But I didn't mind them calling him Maximillian J. Pegasus. Sounded right for a villain. But the manga, dude the manga's on a WHOLE different level. Which I've read myself. It's pretty fucked up. Atem does some fucked up things, it's more violent, and sounded way better than what we actually got. That's Season Zero. And Kaiba had green hair for some reason? I still love Yugioh, but not for the competitive aspect. Just for the anime and manga. And the movies, I'm sorry the actual card game's gone to hell, and become corrupt. Sounds horrible. I never played competitively anyways. I liked to collect the cards back when the show was airing. Like the decks for Jonouchi, Yugi, Bakura, Kaiba, even Pegasus. But I don't think Anzu had one. But she didn't really play the game herself, and neither did Jonouchi's friend, the guy they named Tristan in the crappy 4kids version. But it's too bad we'll never see a proper Season Zero release in English. I'd still collect the cards, but I don't even have the old cards I had back then, and I don't have the Yugioh book anymore either. I still like the Yugioh anime. @@shawnfields2369 a first turn kill deck is usually banned since its generally just not fun to play against. One turn kill decks are a tad easier to deal with and aren't seen as a problem. It's more of heavy combo decks that end up causing issues these days. Some of them just straight up don't let you play the game. The game isn't all bad, and if you get the right people to play with you don't even have to deal with most of the stuff I'm talking about. Plus if you have an older deck there may be new support around the corner for it. For example we are getting support for chazz's armed dragon cards soon which looks to be a really good deck going forward.
i'm pretty sure that the die that they roll in batle are supposed to be a reference to the final 3 (or 4 don't exactly remember) episodes of season 0 where they play a board game with similair die
Not an Yugioh game but there's an obscure Spyro Action RPG on the Ds that features the Shadow Realm as the main threat. Spyro doesn't play card games but he is sent to learn martial arts from a dragon hermit who teaches him the Kamehameha.
Seems like it's loosely based on the Monster World arc from the original manga. Yugi being a beast tamer and the dice roll system seem to be taken from that arc anyways.
