      Only partially though.
      because if a interstellar travel able foe wanted us dead they would have the mean to destroy us in seconds (just a few rocks hurled at high speed on us are enough).
      So we can expect the aliens to have an other agenda than simple eradication...

    The diamond shaped points in space appear to be Lagrange Points. They are gravitational "islands" where a station can be placed, and stay there with almost no intervention. IIrc the James Webb telescope is located at one of the Lagrange Points near the Earth.

    New players often get tripped up by the administration capacity value. Going over the limit does more than just drain influence every day, it also makes purge and crackdown missions against your points easier. This increases exponentially, so if you go way over the limit it becomes trivial for other factions to take your points. The AI knows this, and they will dogpile your rich countries if they're suddenly the easiest targets on the map to takeover.

      On the surface, this game is absolutely horrible as a game. (watching streams of it being unfamiliar of the game is nigh impossible)
      But holy hell once someone explains the process the game is under it suddenly becomes one of the riches 4X games there is. It's really crazy how they managed to achieve this, it's like a modern version of dwarf fortress. An impossible game to understand for an outsider but is infinitely enjoyable to those who play it. I have a feeling this game will reach the same cult status as previously mentioned dwarf fortress.
      They made the space version of DF and that alone is one hell of an achievement.

      And Hoi4 is not the most complex game on the 4x market either, there is not a lot of hidden values or mechanics that will change and affect how the game functions after 20+ hours later into the game.

    I don't think "dilluting" your control points works. If you have 4 control points, and you care about all of them and 50% of them get affected, then in average, 2 will be affected. If you have 6 control points, 4 you care about and 2 you don't, 2 of the ones you care about will be affected and 1 of the ones you don't care about will be affected. Rolling the dice more times does not mean anything if you don't get to pick which roll you want. It does give you a chance that 2 of the ones you don't care about will be affected and only 1 you care about will be affected, but it is the same as 3 of the ones you care about will be affected and none of you don't care about will be affected.

Warred through italy. Integrated, denmark, norway,sweden, the baltics, chezkoslavkia, the Alp stats. A few of which needed to be rejoined with the EU I just need bulgaria and greece. Kazakhstan is clutch early game for boost points also. Um. Ye. Its great, because merging nations reduces control points overall. Pretty sure I am #1 rn in ranking in my game from what I can tell. Even with not holding America or China, I am vibing. Also the AI is exploiting the american and chinese armies and are just slogging over vietnam and Laos and Cambodia. Its a bruh.

    Dune Spice wars has had some substantial updates since you last played. Might be worth it to take a Quick gander at the changes.

    This looks really interesting, though I'm not sure how playable it would be for me. How complicated is this game compared to something like Civ 6 or EU4?

    • @chambers0240
      @chambers0240 2 года назад +1

      It’s fairly complicated, but it’s fun learning the game. At this point I’m on my 5th or 6th game after learning something new and restarting in a stronger position.
      My current game has me in control of the entirety of Europe, with half the US and high public opinion in China (so nobody can take it except me)

      Why do you not challenge yourself? Tired of people going "I can't play this game because I'm not good enough for it"....um.....you only get better at certain things if you actually, you know....DO them. Learning any game has a difficulty curve, once you break through that initial confusion then you end up reaping the entertainment benefits and it feels so much more satisfying then to play something casual like Fortnite

    Game mechanics question: Is there a gameplay reason for the countries on the map to have a specific color? Or are their colors random?
    For example is there a reason why UK is red and France blue?

    • @HoHhoch
      @HoHhoch 2 года назад +4

      The colors are not random. The UK has just always been associated with the color red (Redcoats) and the French blue.

      @@HoHhoch Oh, ok. So it is based on just a historical significance and not game mechanics.

    • @nebbit1
      @nebbit1 2 года назад +3

      Possibly based on the dominant colour of the flags - typically in most strategy games (especially Paradox, but also Total War, Civ) England/the UK is red, France is blue, Spain is yellow etc. So it's in keeping with what strategy players expect to see I guess.
