Russia's unrest went to zero after the coup. You can leave spoils at zero as long as you put even the most cursory effort into keeping unrest under control.
Another thing: If your agents seem to fail far more often than seems probable, you might want to monitor them and check up on their loyalty. If you manage to turn an agent of another faction, you not only get perfect information about them but you can make them fail a certain amount from 0 up to 100% of the missions they do for the faction they belonged to. So it is possible that a high frequency of failures is related to a few traitors agents.
This is something I haven't actually figured out yet. If you just reveal their loyalty number, will it also automatically reveal if they're a double agent? 'Cause I've had ones that felt like they failed too often, but checking their loyalty, it was just sitting around 13 or 14 like normal, and there were no other notes.
So you made me end up picking this up, and the Academy did look fun even though it's clearly hard. Love how the whole time everything you find out your own leadership is like "this is a bad idea trying to be friends with aliens... but let's do it anyway", cause that's my feelings on it too I figure that if I just get a big enough stick I can hit the aliens till they agree to be friends, right? I feel like we're on the same page with this
I love how you gloss over the 1 Influence push on a 99% ACTUALLY helped incredibly at 42:29 Rolling a 99% on a 99% chance to succeed, that would've made me rage even on a fairly inconsequential roll
hot tip with operations center that you are probably already aware of but still worth noting: they have a pretty high power consumption, but if you grab the inner planets and run them on Mercury they are real good. This is because solar panel power on Mercury is nutty (inverse square law and whatnot)
@@oldvlognewtricks I've been watching PerungamingAU play the game and he says the net gain of having full mission control stations on Mercury has a net positive of +7 mission control overall. Mission control afaik doesn't have an area of effect or area of higher effectiveness. So more mission control is more mission control.
@@oldvlognewtricks yes, but since 1 mission control needs 40 power its a pretty sizable swing. That means on Mars you would need a bit over 13 solar collectors but on Mercury you need less than 1. (In fact it's about .66 solar collectors to 1 mission control) With tier 2 tech this disparity is further exacerbated to the point that it almost becomes laughable. As such grabbing all the mercury orbits and essentially making it a Dyson sphere is a totally valid strategy.

Well "most important" is really sensitive to the situation (even if Admin is usually the one 90% of the time). Admin helps the economy, Science helps science (obviously), and Command helps the fighting ability of your troops (meaning it's only useful during an active war).

I've been playing for more than 72 hours now and I'm having fun. I'm in my second playthrough because the aliens destroyed all my colonies in Mars and Mercury after I built my fleet and started attacking the aliens. They destroyed my small fleet and just started making things worse from there. Game was basically lost. So I restarted and played as the initiative and went for uniting Europe and Taking America. I am now in control of Europe, America and South Korea. I'm having a lot of fun and I basically am outsourcing the job of dealing with aliens to the Resistance while I build my power to surpass everyone and own everything.
I expect the focus of development is filling out the codex, tutorials, and quality of life upgrades.
