I don't think it's the lava which is boiling per se... It technically the moisture in the soil that's boiling and then popping when it reaches sufficient pressure.
@@heatherclayton-callaghan4270 Well, glass is made from silicon dioxide and this is silicate lava, so it kind of makes sense for it to sound similar, I guess.
WOW! Thank you, the lava seemed to be moving quick when I was watching the livecams but you don't notice just how quick until you see footage like yours. Thanks again for all you efforts and coverage, greetings from England 🙂
The bubbling effect is probably caused by the lava moving over moist soil quickly. When it moves slowly, the moisture in the soil will turn to steam at the leading edge. When it moves quickly, the steam is overtaken and must punch up through the lava to escape. Your channel is amazing! I’ve been watching daily since before the eruption.

The beauty of this wonderful blue planet is unpredictable, exactly three years ago I was on vacation in Iceland, beautiful country I want to return in winter time, but I would love to be there right now. I hope everyone is safe. Love from Texas💖
This popping lava action is caused by the moisture within the ground being converted to steam. This action is the same principles as with Geysers, but instead of ejection of super heated water like a geyser. The lava is tossed into the air as this hot lava is above the source of the steam instead of water as in a geysers eruption. So obviously there's a considerable amount of ground water near the surface in this one area. So this would be an ideal spot to locate a water well with the ground saturated with water as indicated by this popping lava
The ground could be saturated with water for any number of reasons, rain or snow melt water, a bog, so on. I doubt that a source of deep water would boil because of surgace water.
