We had 2013 Durango SXT V6 for 4 years and 92,000 miles. We had two issues. 1. Right front seat sensor for the airbag went out around 25k and was covered under warranty. 2. Alternator went out the day we traded it in with 92k miles. No other issues and we totally loved it. Great vehicle!

Hi Pal, I have a 2019 I purchased from Enterprise in 2020 during covid It is a GT and I love it !!! It was also built in Detroit, USA So far I have no complaints. I also purchased a 2019 Jeep Compass from the same establishment Purchased the 5 year warranty for both vehicles from Chrysler. Keeping both vehicles. Am a Mopar Head since my teens. Good Luck with your new truck.

Great review by someone who sounds very credible. A lot of information presented and I don’t think there was one instance of anything being incorrect or misspoken. Love the growl of that V6 and how the transmission was snapping off shifts right before redline! I agree with the reviewer, Dodge is not nearly as bad as some people make them out to be. Sure some interior parts do look cheap, but I think the important parts of the vehicle are solid.

I had a 99 Durango SLT Plus 4 X 4 5.9 liter with all the bells and whistles. I added 3 inch exhaust with Flowmaster 40. I picked it up in New Mexico when I was stationed there with the military. When I retired I brought it back to Pennsylvania with me. Since it was always in the south west it didnt have any rust. I sold it in 2011 with 178000 miles and got $7800.00 for it. This thing was a Sherman tank. I only sold it because I bought a new Ram truck and didnt need both. Great review as always.

You're smart to keep your tire pressure up especially for long trips. Read the tire's maximum pressure (usually 44psi). Tire stores are famous for putting 32 psi in your new tires! They ride great but, nothing destroys tires quicker than heat and the constant flexing of the sidewalls generates lots of heat in a vehicle the size of your Durango. When buying one of these, be sure to check by VID # for recall notices. A defective alternator can cause as many as 27 fault codes to appear with no way to properly diagnose the root cause. Very nice vehicle! I have that engine in a minivan that on long trips gets up to 32 mpg! One tough V6!

Great real world review! Good to see something not brand new. We use Fiat Chrysler vehicles in our fleet. Predominantly Chargers though. The biggest issues we see are valve train problems in the Pentastars and battery issues. Other than that very reliable. We have recently, well the past 4 years, went to hemis because they seem to tolerate the extended idle times we subject our vehicles to, less valve train issues and damaged heads...I’m thinking Dually so you can get more payload capacity 🤷‍♂️

Damn. Almost $10 a quart!? Tf!? I just changed my wife's oil for about $30. It's so easy to do in this model durango you don't even need to jack it up. I’ll tell you comfortably that all Chrysler products are reliable. Here at Iraq, people tend to purchase cars from copart or IAA all the way from US. Here, we have a crazy summer of 45-50 C degree, we have a gasoline of less than 80 octane content, there is no brand for engine oil that haven’t been copied, I mean, the shitest engine oil may be here, not to mention the bad roads and the fact the only paved roads are highways and major roads and you have to deal with unpaved road and dust or mud “depending on the season” for almost 80% of your daily use. Chrysler cars “Charger, Challenger, Durango, Journey C200, C300,Pacifica…etc.” are holding great, A/C system works fantastic, and pentastar engines taking the gasoline and engine oil very well with minor issues. However, HEMI engines need a high octane containing gasoline, luckily, it is available

I did not but I met someone who was towing a 5000# camper and they stated it had absolutely no issues handling that weight. I wouldn’t go to the maximum capacity with the Durango but 5500#-6000#’s would keep you from white knuckling 👍🏾

Do not buy these. They are junk. The auto start/stop kills the starter (minimum $1K fix). Radiator and AC issues are prevalent. The design is terrible, batteries are located under the seat, starter can't be replaced without removing an engine mount, nothing is where it should be and getting to things that should be easy simply ISN'T. You can't work on this thing either unless you have thousands of dollars in tools and equipment because the computer system is so integrated into every facet of the car. Granted, they make a lot of noise and are satisfying to drive, but practically any issue will cripple this car and make it practically undriveable since it goes to "stuck in park" anytime something is wrong with ANYTHING that has an effect on how the vehicle drives. Interior components fall apart and break and are all made of cheap plastic. TCM and ECM are incredibly expensive and notorious for going out! INSANE! DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT AN EXPENSIVE PAPERWEIGHT THAT IS CONSTANTLY SITTING IN THE SHOP! Also, hope you like paying for towing because you can't flat tow this vehicle or it will DESTROY the transmission, it has to be put on a flatbed truck every time it strands you.
