Interesting vid - thanks Aram. I've not gone down the road of trying to resell functional computers, so looking forward to following the next vids in this series. I am reselling newer i-series CPU's and RAM to folks rebuilding PC's. Much better value than scrap. Also selling 1TB+ HDD's and SSD's.
Thank you my friend, I am glad you liked the video and found it insightful! Before ever getting into ewaste recycling, I would buy and sell valuable computers and computer parts that I knew had a good market and calling for. But, after getting into this field and taking apart computers on a regular basis, I started researching some of these older motherboards to see if they were valuable enough to spend time salvaging. Sure enough, some of them did in fact carry really good value while others were not worth spending any time on. You will definitely see what I am talking about when I post part 2 of this video! Thanks for the support my friend!
It would be great if you did a video about how you market your business to get the materials and also what categories you sort the items into to get the most money and why you decide to disassemble vs sell by the pound. Great videos
Hi Jeffrey, my intentions for this channel are just that! Not only do I want to shed light onto ewaste recycling, but also the process of properly recycling all while salvaging and reusing as much as possible! At the moment though, I am in my last semester in law school so making video's while running a business and going to school at night has intensified my schedule since I am at the end. I am hoping that once I finish this semester and take the bar, I will get back on making video's but at a much higher rate! Thank you for your input! I am glad that you enjoy my video's, the support is appreciated!
Ive got a friend that works in tech and hooks me up with stuff . I want to help this planet. But also get my hustle on. Im in South Carolina and want start something like this. Do you have any advice? As far getting out the word. A drop off spot or maybe for now I could do Sat and Sunday pick up.... im not sure where to start. I'm collecting this stuff and taking it apart if it doesn't work but for now im just stocking it best I can. I don't even have a place to sell the stuff
Thats awesome to hear! The first thing I would do is go to your states waste management or sustainability website and do some research as to their ewaste program. Then I would possibly start off with doing pickups on the weekends as you said but make sure that you have the proper outlet to ship the recyclables to before doing so, otherwise you will run out of space very quickly. Thank you for the support by the way, it is greatly appreciated!
In this instance, the majority of the desktops that are to be tested further would be parted out and sold per piece if they do in fact function properly!
I like what you do. Saving pc from becoming ewaste is a good thing.
