This has to be the most relaxing knitting podcast on youTube. You probably don't realize the profound effect your voice, kindness, and love has on all of your viewers (espectially this one).
So many beautiful knitted pieces, Amy and thank you for including your portion on what's bringing you joy - you are an inspiration in so mnay ways! Thanks for your generosity in sharing your making life as well as the other bits and pieces that make up your life.
Beautiful, peaceful, joyful episode as always. Enjoyed ‘knitting with you’ immensely. I audibly gasped at the beautiful yarns you gathered and showed. Your Aunt’s project bags are awesome 👏🏼. Going to watch the Lord of the Rings prequel with my husband. I love that it moves you beyond words to tears. That depth of emotion, how much we are moved by these feelings of appreciation and beauty whether it’s a moment or a movie or music, etc - it’s other-worldly and sacred, isn’t it? Congrats on your upcoming 25th and also your birthday!!! You are a treasure. Thank you for your Channel. All the best until next time.
Oh Amy, you are such a source of solace when it’s needed and inspiration. Love your podcast so very much! The poem you ended with was perfect! Today I thought my dear father had come to the end of his long life ( he's almost 95 and lives quite far away from me) but there has been a reprieve and I am grateful. I know it can’t last a whole lot longer, but it is a gift. That poem spoke to my feelings perfectly after what has been a rather stressful day and contribute to the sense of peace I have right now. Knitting sure helps too!
Thank You for another relaxing knittingbreak in your company. You are such a huge inspiration 🙏🎀 . And all that beautiful yarn 😍😍😍 - wow ! I have to take a trip to Scottland again soon 🥰
Oh, I do sincerely hope that you film the organization of your stash, or perhaps show the end result? That would be awesome. Thank you for this. I know it takes a lot of time and energy to provide us with this channel, and I really appreciate it.
Hi, Amy! Another suggestion for light when you are knitting with black yarn: IKEA has a goose neck hi intensity lamp that I use to knit with and it has a golden cast. Also: light bulbs exist with a full spectrum light sunshine. You could Amazon one of those and put it on your reading lamp. Black yarn is a beast! Hope this helps. Thanks so much for your podcast, I always look forward to it!❤
Wonderful episode as always Amy. I so look forward to your new episodes. I have finished working through your back catalogue. Many joyous hours of calming tones, teaching and encouragement. Would love to see how you end up organising your stash.
You have a lot of things going at the same time. First, your son's socks, after that there is no pressure!! Good luck! I have faith you'll complete them on time!!
Thank you for yet again a fabulous episode. It’s a joy when is see you have recorded a new one. I love your colour choices for the MKAL. You have a lot of interesting KALs going on. 😮 x
Thank you. I love your podcast. I’m looking forward to knitting the Felixes and Lento sometime soon, so I will enjoy hearing how you like knitting them. 💕
Hello Amy, loved your podcast as always. I have a suggestion for your knitting with black yarn and i didn't check to see if anyone else had already made the suggestion and that is too place a white towel or piece of fabric on your lap. This helps to make the black pop no matter the lighting and keeps it from getting lost in your clothing. Hope that helps. Happy knitting!
Thank you for another calm and peaceful episode. Your descriptions of historic places and the yarn festivals are so beautiful and informative. Your gentleness makes it so easy to knit as I follow your conversation. One of these days, I am coming to some version of an Edinburg fiber festival. I loved the saying…what is yours will not pass you by. Cheers, Dee❤
Congratulations, Liz! What a lucky win!! 🌞 I so wish I could have seen your talk on choosing colors. Your MKAL colors are spectacular. Thank you for this lovely episode! I got to finish up my Fireglow Cowl just as you were winding up this episode. Now, back to my Hiraeth shawl and I will get to cast on one of the next two pullovers that have been happily percolating in my mind!
Thank you for another lovely podcast Amy. Once again, it has been such a tonic to knit along to all your news. And I’m absolutely delighted to be the winner of your wonderful giveaway, thank you so much xxx
Love your color sense and your pallet for the MKAL is lovely. As are your pallets for the Marlén magic and your birthday knit. Enjoyed knitting on my Easy V while watching today and made some good progress on the body. Hope you have a lovely couple of weeks.
Whew! That was a marathon episode. 😊 I have yarn set aside and the Lento pattern ready to go- bring on the KAL. Just need to finish up a few birthday projects for two of my grandkids, and then of course, the Stephen West MKAL is around the corner. 🧶😉♥️ Good luck with the black 🧦
Gorgeous Amy, your podcasts are so beautiful and I know that whenever you release one we are all in for an truly wonderful time. I loved all your projects but what I love is that you have done them in such different yarns that are recommended which changes the whole garment. I am nursing a broken shoulder at the moment so I cannot tell you what a lift you have given me. ❤❤
Oh thank you for another wonderful episode. So much wonderful loveliness. I just smile the whole time, you could talk about garbage collection and I’d happily watch 🤭🤣🤣🥰
Loved this episode ❤ Great projects and colour ideas ….. I am inspired! I am also from Fife 🏴 and did have family in Alloa and my brother went to Stirling University 😊 Good job I can't get to all the festivals because I just can't hold myself back 😂 Looking forward to the next podcast 😘
Your jumpers are beautiful! So are your shawls. I love knitting shawls but I don't seem to wear them too often. But you are inspiring me! I think I see not shawls but lacy cowls in my future. I am working on a crazily stripy and stranded cardigan for my daughter. You know how we LOVE well written patterns? Well, this one is not! Had it been for me, I would probably have given up! But you know a Mother's love for her children, hence your kilt hose, which by the way, are beautiful!
Thank you so much for a beautiful video, I really enjoyed this as I always enjoy all your podcast videos!! Also I wanted to say after watching your shawl wall episode I went ahead and bought my first Stephen West pattern and some yarn to go with it....in fact I'm thinking of joining this year's mkal too!?! I'm not hugely experienced at knitting, I'd say I'm kind of getting to intermediate knitter, so this would be totally out of my comfort zone 😊 but I want to beaver in my knitting and learn new stitches....just looking at some wools from shops you have mentioned in your podcasts!!! Anyway thank you again and have a lovely weekend!!xx
My best friend, at one point, had one of the best collections of Stephen King first edition and rare books in the USA. Her boyfriend is Steve Spignesi, who is considered to be a world authority on King. I am watching House of Dragons not only for the story but just to catch a glimpse of Graham McTavish.
Aahh such a thoughtful question... initially I watched/listened as a bit of Scottish immersion, knowing my next big trip will be to Scotland. I've continued listening and watching because of your content, your colors, and your character (in addition to your lilt). By now, I watch and listen because I know we're kin of another era, somehow from the same tribe! I was so delighted to hear you reference Judy Sill who's music has been among my lifelong favorites and no one I know is familiar with her work. Thank you for your you tubes, Amy. I'm beginning to plan a trip next year to the Perth Festival, so near the town of my heritage -- Abernethy. I've not yet been to Scotland (in my current incarnation :-)) and look forward to possibly seeing you at Perth!
I’m so glad you’ll be joining the #felixforfallkal ! ❤ And I had no idea about the unspunheroes KAL. I’m totally joining. I have some gorgeous Nutiden that I’m using to cast on a Monday Sweater!
Amy, I had color bleeding with Holst super soft in the sloe color and I washed the yarn BEFORE I knitted it up. I have never had any issues with Holst yarn, but this color! It turned out beautiful once I washed the yarn first. It was a pain to wash, but saved a cones worth of yarn because it was giving me fits to deal with. I hope this helps anyone trying this yarn in this color.
I just found Holst Garn and am in love with it. I purchased the same shade of purple for a cabled cardigan. Crossing my fingers I’m not allergic too. All the other colors have been fine. Nevertheless if allergic, I’ll suffer through because the yarn and the color are so lovely
I was at the Perth festival and bought Zakami yarn also. I saw you there (I had travelled from Michigan) and wanted to say hi, but you were busy. Maybe we will meet next time!
Amy - so interesting that you focused on Stephen King for your doctoral research. My Ph.D. is in Language, Culture and Society. I studied the literate life stories of adults and adolescents. Ha! I completely agree with you on SK and Stranger Things and of course GoT and Lord of the Rings. Stories open up such wonderful spaces. Such fun to see your knitting and the links to your studies.
Hi, dear Amy, I am always mesmerised when listening to your podcasts. I like your taste in knitting and I admire the speed at which you finish a project. Thank you so much for this anxiety easing episode. There is some magic in you, Amy. Everything will be allright.
Another inspirational podcast. Having had a very busy summer I was glad to see this podcast with all the excitement of new projects and cast ons. Then to see the lovely Nutiden yarn I sent being put to use so soon really fired my enthusiasm to get out my needles again. Weather is cooling here in France so I can cope with handling wool so trying to finish off languishing projects before getting stuck in the the MKAL with Stephen West next month.
The knitter’s golden season! Love feeling the chill in the air and then layering up in my favourite knits with something woolly on my needles. So excited to cast on with your beautiful Nutiden. Think it will be so perfect as a Felix pullover! 😍
So enjoyed this podcast and wish that I had been in the audience for your talk. Any chance it was recorded and will be available? I suffer from not making decisions with color choices. What has helped me is watching the Wall of Shawls a couple times. Thank you again for a beautiful podcast!
What a fun and information-filled episode! You have helped me make a decision. I have yarn that I can use for either a Whitmore pullover or a Lento. Since you’re planning a Lento KAL, I must join in! First I need to finish the sleeves on my Felix Pulliver 😊. I am looking forward to seeing how your new yarns play out in the projects you’ve selected for them.
Oh how exciting! So glad to know you’ll be joining in! And I’ve just finished sleeve 1 (reknitted the cuff) and have picked up for sleeve 2 of my Felix cardi. Can’t wait to cast on the pullover though!
I have gotten to the end of your podcast, popping in and out as this week progressed. I am so fascinated to know that you wrote your PHD in the work of Stephen King. I would never have guessed that his writing was an interest of yours. My reading of Stephen King seems a lifetime ago. I think I read up to The Stand by Jr. high and then stopped reading his novels. Would you recommend anything he has written after that?
Hi Amy, such a lovely podcast as always. Loved all the content. I can't seem to locate the link to your review on the Hobbii yarns you used, I've never used their brands and have been so curious about them. I do get their newsletter, and always see quite a few sales going on. I had a fabulous evening knitting and watching you, hearing about all the glorious patterns and yarn, so inspirational. Thank you ever so much for all your work in sharing your wonderful gift. xo :)
The link for the yarn review is taking a bit longer than anticipated, but I’ll share it as soon as I have it, Sue. My apologies. But just to give a wee spoiler, I really liked the yarn that I used!
What you're wearing is gorgeous! And how fortunate to have a friend like Jen to work on your itchy project! Kudos to Jen❣ I had been missing seeing you which is why I sent the message on Instagram. So pleased to see you and hear your lovely laugh. It warms my heart. I just got an updated Ancestry breakdown of my family lines and was so pleased to find my numbers were almost 80% Scottish! Amy your sense of color is extraordinary! That grouping of your inherited yarns is over the moon! I can't wait to see what you create❣
Enjoyed your update, as usual. It's always nice to laugh along with you! Listening to you discuss your interests and education, I have to wonder if you've watched "The Last Kingdom". If I've missed this in the past episodes, please forgive me. My viewing tastes seem to mirror yours and it was at the top of my list of favorites. I thought you might enjoy it. Thank you for brightening my day!
Oh I do love The Last Kingdom - we watched it quite recently, and then we did a day trip to Bamburgh/Bebbenburg when I realised it was only an hour and a half away. It was so good, right? That last episode!
Another wonderful episode, Amy! However, I couldn't find the link to your review of Suriously Holey and Pink Fizz in Hobbii Yarn. Was I overeager and skimmed over the link? Something to look forward to when I discover it.
I have one of those flex LED lights thar bend around my neck. I like them except I am large breasted and find they don't necessarily point in the correct direction...
Oh my, well I am truly impressed with your degrees in horror literature! So fascinating to me! Besides being a scaredy cat, I will pay closer attention now to the scary movies. My favorite series was Criminal Minds, but after losing my hubby I stopped watching. No one to curl into a spoon with afterwards!
Hi there Amy. Your astrological forcast for today was just perfect for me! Thanks for explaining the Mercury retrograde in Libra....Urg I now understand the hectic communications I find myself drawn into, especially today. Today I am sitting here in South Africa and smiling while I knit my much coveted and awaited Drops yarn! After watching so many podcasters extolling the virtues of Drops I can say that I agree whole heartedly, as a friend brought me some back from the UK.. I am using Drops Alpaca and the Drops Aplaca Silk and I dont want this project to come to an end.....its so lovely and soft. And just as I am typing you mention my favorite local S African yarn dyer and friend,....... @cowgirlblues.
Drops is really such a great and affordable yarn. Such good value without compromising on quality. And yes! Love Cowgirl Blues yarn. Can’t wait to cast on with my beautiful mohair. Those speckles!!
People come for the knitting, and we stay because of your beautiful and gentle nature dear Amy ❤
Aw you are such a love - thank you, Ivana. 😘

Such a lovely podcast! Thanks for keeping me company and with my Sunday morning coffee knit 😊
Lovely all around! Thank you, Amy. I love the colours you've chosen for the MKAL, and also for the Lento sweater you'll be making. Gorgeous!

Love your twist and turn colors. I’m not knitting the shawl but enjoy seeing all the colors knitters choose. 😊
Thank you for recording all your episodes. I've listened from the beginning but first time to comment. Love to see all your yarn and progress.
Always good to sit and relax with you. ☀️
Thanks for another wonderful episode of The Meaningful Stitch Amy. 💗
Another wonderful podcast!! You are so soothing to the soul. Your knitting is incredible! Thank you, thank you!
If you haven't watched Last Kingdom, based on Bernard Cornwell's Saxons tales, you will love it. Thanks for a delightful podcast.

Lovely podcast Amy, watched from our holiday home in France! ❤️

I'm using Olann yarns for the mkal as well 😊 The Burnish colourway, with North Star fir contrast. 🧶
Lovely, lovely podcast!❤️🥰💕

How gorgeous is the Rings of Power show? I’m also loving it and so excited to see more of Galadriel’s story. Thank you for another great episode.
Loved having you on my channel! Thank you for the shoutout Amy ❤
Aw, it was such a delight - happy to share, Irina!
Thank you for the lovely episode!
Wanted to let you know that I ordered a beautiful knitting bag from Cocoon Tree and also had a wonderful "chat" with your lovely Aunt Lorna.
Loved your Fibrechat interview!
Thank you for such a lovely episode! The colors for your MKAL are fabulous- can’t wait to see it knit up!
So excited for the mkal, Julie. October 6th is so close, and yet it cannot come soon enough!
My best friend, at one point, had one of the best collections of Stephen King first edition and rare books in the USA. Her boyfriend is Steve Spignesi, who is considered to be a world authority on King. I am watching House of Dragons not only for the story but just to catch a glimpse of Graham McTavish.
I've been so looking forward to relaxing with my needles and a cuppa listening to your gentle, comforting vibe 🥰 Thanks for another lovely episode x
You are so very welcome, Susan. I’m so glad you enjoyed!
❤ Everything is going to be all right❤thank you for this
Amy, I had color bleeding with Holst super soft in the sloe color and I washed the yarn BEFORE I knitted it up. I have never had any issues with Holst yarn, but this color! It turned out beautiful once I washed the yarn first. It was a pain to wash, but saved a cones worth of yarn because it was giving me fits to deal with. I hope this helps anyone trying this yarn in this color.
Always love ur podcasts
the wooly knit camisole - you may be surprised. I find my lightweight 100% wool tops to keep me more cool than all other tops
Most of all I envy you for being able to buy so much beautiful yarn. In my country we only have synthetic yarn and it costs me a hand and a leg to order abroad. It' s such a shame Drops has discontinued some of their yarns, as this was one of the few natural fiber brands accessible to me. Anyway, the thing is I am now knitting a crescent shawl, my own design, and it's getting very long, but small in width. As I know you've knitted so many shawls, I dare to ask: could I stop increasing from time to time to give it more width? Won't it have a weird shape? Thanx a lot for sharing your podcasts!
Thank you so much for this anxiety easing episode. There is some magic in you, Amy.
Everything will be allright.
Aw, thank you, Jenni. 🥰

Lovely sweater Amy! As usual, so nice to hear your knitting stories❤
So glad you enjoyed!
Wonderful knitting. So inspirational. Thank you so much ❤
So welcome, Marie!
I have gotten to the end of your podcast, popping in and out as this week progressed. I am so fascinated to know that you wrote your PHD in the work of Stephen King. I loved your poem...
It’s such a good one, right? I found it on Instagram and saved it as I knew I would want to read it again and again.
What you're wearing is gorgeous! And how fortunate to have a friend like Jen to work on your itchy project! Kudos to Jen❣
I had been missing seeing you which is why I sent the message on Instagram.

~18 What a wonderful friend you have. I know you would do the same for her ❤. Loved listening today---thank you!
Another wonderful episode, Amy! However, I couldn't find the link to your review of Suriously Holey and Pink Fizz in Hobbii Yarn. Was I overeager and skimmed over the link? Something to look forward to when I discover it.
Glad you enjoyed it! And yes, the link will be added to the notes as soon as I have it. Taking longer than expected, I’m afraid.
Lovely pod cast, but I can’t find your link to Hobbi yarn review.
Hi Julie - I’ll pop the link up as soon as I have it. Had hoped to have had it before this episode went live. The best laid plans, and all that. 🙄
I have one of those flex LED lights thar bend around my neck. I like them except I am large breasted and find they don't necessarily point in the correct direction...
❤❤❤
Hey just an idea if you ever run into that allergic reaction problem again try wearing gloves while unit silk gloves recommend
You are totally not a monogamous knitter 😆🥰 I know I am commenting a year after this was posted but I am still catching up with your videos.
❤️🌷😘
I don't like knitting socks either. I'd rather knit anything but socks. 😄
Much prefer a shawl on my needles! What do you prefer to knit, Suzan?
@@AmyPalko shawl. 😁
I blame this on you I just ordered same yarn. Amy i am on a yarn diet.
Oh what did you get, Norma?
Emerald green alpaca silk
