      Pelé once scored a goal so beautiful at Maracanã Stadium that a plaque was placed to celebrate it. After this goal, Pelé himself ordered Santos to put a plaque for Ronaldo because that goal was amazing. I was watching it at home and I remember hugging and kissing the TV set, in tears.

    Ronaldo was the definition of gifted, he was tall but not too tall where he would be janky and unbalanced, he was strong but he was also insanely quick, also was agile and smart, if he didn't get that many injuries or get hypothyroidism, there wouldn't be a debate for the greatest ever, i myself believe that even with Messi, Cristiano, Pelé, Maradona, Di Stefano, Puskas, Ronaldinho, etc.., Ronaldo still is the greatest ever.

    I hate when ppl say that a player carreer is over just because he left Europe to play elsewhere. Like Ronaldo at Corintians, Ronaldinho also was still really good when he was playing at Flamengo and Atlético Mineiro when he left Europe, Marcelo and Felipe Melo just won the '' champions league '' equivalent for Fluminense on South America and Cristiano Ronaldo is still killing at the Saudi league. I got tell you, Tevez's run in Corinthians was truly amazing. Not so epic or history making like R9's, but he left us with a lot of good memories. Times have changed so much, we are back to struggling and hustling, still broke and again fighting to remain on Série A. We have an Argentino kid, Rodrigo Garro, who is showing a lot of prospect.

  • @KNDCHV
    @KNDCHV 8 месяцев назад +68

    My favorite player of all time. I remember I was finishing high-school staying late to watch his final seasons at Corinthians. And I am from Bulgaria. On the other side of the planet it was 3-4 AM when he and Corinthians played in Brazil. I loved him so much and I was praying for Dunga to take him back just for the good old times when he carried Brazil. He might've been 115 kg, but you didn't show ( I think I didn't see the video in this clip) where the supposedly "unfit" Ronaldo outran a defender. Ronaldo made us love football in 2002. For me and my generation he will always be the G.O.A.T, because look at him - 115 kg doing unthinkable things. Every time you cross him off, he returns back even deadlier. That's why he is the "The Phenomenon". No other player is called like that.

    • @Mastermint
      @Mastermint 5 дней назад

      Oh wow. Thanks for watching him from so far away. We were always very proud of him. For me, and I'm sure it's true for a lot of people, it was because we saw him do what our kids do when playing in the streets, but elevated. He had that cleverness that made football fun to watch. Coupled with a lot of training and fitness of course, but still. Our players used to have what we call "ginga", a way to move that's almost like a dance, with a little cheekiness thrown in. Not as much anymore, sadly

    For me Ronaldo Nazario is the best and greatest striker in football history, no debate imo. Also i think it is wrong how people call him some mean things, without knowing that Ronaldo had/has a disease which makes it hard to keep in great shape no matter how hard someone train. Ronaldo wasnt lazy, it was more about him not being able to do the things he used to do, which prevented him from performing at the highest level anymore. Either way Ronaldo is a top 3-5 player of all time even when his career was shortened, his peak is top 3-5 all time imo and he is overall the best striker ever in my opinion 🇧🇷9️⃣💯

    His season with Barcelona, in 49 games he scored 47 goals! I remember watching him play some of the games, his whole team was defending, he was staying in the midfield area, they would throw a long ball at him, and he would rip to shreds the opponent's defensive line, 4 guys sometimes 5 against a single man, and he would dribble and play with them, until either having some help, but in most cases he would speed to the goal and score!

      And he was only a talent but was voted the best in the world. When he joind a indoor football club at the age of 11 he scored 166 times in his first season. At the age of 16 he was playing in the 1e squad (Brazilian pro league.) and did score 5 times in a single match. At the age of 18 he should have been worldplayer of the year but he did get it when he was 20 and is till this day the youngest best player of the world ever. And his stats as a talent with the performances are also unmatched.
      Neymar was a outstanding talent but Ronaldo was the best ever. Sadly destroyed by major injuries and the disease for sure started when he was at Real.

      @@HelmHammerhand1709 His time at Inter before his 2 major injuries was indeed with less goals than before. But the opposite teams did not only have amazing d defenders but also was known for their type of play that was heavily defensive. Indeed the most hard time to play in as a striker. Ronaldo could overcome everything. But not the biggest problem. And that was that they could make much more and much harder faults on players. That was the main reason that the best player was kicked over and over again because there was no other way to stop him most of the time. Even the best defender ever Maldini could not always stop him.

    • @HustlerHorstRuediger

      @@HelmHammerhand1709yea but there's more to it. Before 2005 it was a novelty for teams to be running as much as they do today (excluding some teams - a lot of them from the Netherlands I guess). I think compared to the 90s teams run twice as much now therefore it was just easier for the defense to stay organized and mark your opponent's strongest offensive players tightly.

    Even at 115 kilograms during his time at Corinthians, most of the time he was still playing 'walking football' in a league full of professionals. In a league that is currently the 4th strongest league in the world. It should not have been possible, but yet he did it, game after game. One of the most clinical finishers to grace the field.
