I always love it when you and Ardyth have a card hack video together! YOu two are so easy to listen to and very practical. Ant the length of your videos is just right!
Hi Gerry - I'm glad Ardyth teamed up with you, because this is the first I've seen of your videos. Thanks especially for the Nuvo drops idea. I've been so frustrated by making little boo-boos when putting drops down, and I'm often in a last minute hurry when finishing a card. You've solved both those problems brilliantly! I'll be looking out for more of your videos.
Hi Pam, glad to have you join me here💕Then the drops hack is a great one for you, you can have a fun drop session and have them ready to go when you need them😁
Love that you and Ardyth collaborated on offering these crafty tips. It made me smile to listen to your back and forth, even though I know editing was involved. Good tips, too!
I use empty prescription medicine bottles for broken glitter and embossing powder containers. They are orange tinted ( to preserve the drugs) but seal very tightly. I peal off the labels and use adhesive remover, but you wouldn’t have to….
Gerry great tip to emboss the lids of the embossing power! Love the tip to use the Nuvo as a glue for your handmade enamel dots and I really like yourtip to use the double sided tape to help centre your panel on the card. Lots of fun for a Friday!
@@GerrysCraftRoom now I have to have that silver glittery nuvo drops of course.... 🙈 Are that jewel drops? I do the same (adding drops to adhesive backing paper) with Aleenes tack it over.... to make my own glue dots
Thanks for such great tips. I love the embossing container lid one. It’s so sometimes to tell what the embossing powder will look like when it’s dry. The tape tip was also awesome. I sometimes have trouble lining up my layers on my cards.
Your tip for the double-sided tape is one of my favorites. I had always had trouble getting my papers to line up on the card until I saw you use the trick that you showed. 👍👍👍
Wonderful tips! I love the idea of sealing glitter with the crystal glaze, what a great idea. And I need to try pre-making some nuvo drops too. Thank you!
I have to pre-make my Nuvo drops because I’m so indecisive about where to put them! I’ve used waxed paper but I will try your idea of using sticker paper on cardstock. I had no idea you could emboss on water droplets. That’s so cool! And I love the glitter tip. I hate loose glitter.
Thank you! I found you through Ardyth and the Card Maker's Success Summit. I love the results you got with water and embossing powder. I'm anxious to try that. I might also try embossing my lids to swatch ... carefully!
Loved the embossed lids, I also love that you showed how it could fail, this is something I could probably muck up, now I’ll be good 😁Loved it all, very fun and informative. Subscribed. Thank you xx😁❤️
I worry that I would melt my embossing powder lids, which is why I use paper circles. I have also started to use circles that are half white and half black, so I can see how translucent the powders are
Just got some embossing powders. Think I'd do a circle for the tops, I'm sure not use to the heat tool I WOULD melt the tops. Thanks again for the tips. Happy crafting
Great cooperation with Ardyth again. 🥰🥰🥰 Great tips! Aaaaaaaaah, your embossing jar lid 😭 You could have made punched out circle swatches glued on top too… 😅🤗🤗
For the embossing powder idea just use paper and emboss as usual then use a circle paper punch to cut out the circle then glue it to the lid. No melted lid.
Ha ! So fun -- great ideas LOVE the Nuvo Drops in advance and the partial peel on the adhesive tape. Wished I had tried your idea of embossing powder lids years ago......how much time would I have now to create vs the time invested in the 100+ circles adhering to the top of each jar. Yes, I need to clear my embossing powder stash and keep myself from compulsive buys in the future...) Thank you! And thanks to Ardyth and the blessing you are to model collaboration!
the embossing powder lids can be done even easier if you use circle stickers more commonly used for pricing in shops Amazon sells big rolls of 1/4". 1/2". even1" stickers I bought the 1/4" and I use them for ink pads and paints as well the roll has 2000 stickers in it so I'll never run out in this lifetime anyway!
Thanks Gerry, great tips! Please can you give some tips on using nuvo drops, when I use them they don’t dry domed, I get little point on the top of mine!
If you make them in advance like Gerry suggests you will get lots of practice and improve your skills, but you can choose the prettiest ones and toss the duds. Try flicking the paper underneath the dot before you let it dry, and there’s also a little swirl you can do as you release the drop that helps, but maybe Gerry will demonstrate that in a video!
Hi Elly, thanks💖 first here is a video with lots of drops tips: ruclips.net/video/jByoC7bqEC0/видео.html Then sometimes you just have drops that are more tough/less fluid (So that's not you, it's the drops!), this will give you that point, you can warm the bottle between your hands or put in your pocket for a while (I like that better, so you can go one doing other things:-) and then try again. I have done a demo and let a child of 5 make a drop while I talked her through it and she made perfect drops from her second drop (and she was so proud of herself😍), it's not hard if you know what to do, like with so many things😉
