My Zarana and Cover Girl both had the same exact issue. Remember when one of the Valaverse Action Force figures had an issue with the crotch breaking for some figures? They dealt with it head on and offered replacement parts. Has Hasbro addressed this massive QC failure? Have they ever admitted even one issue in any of their lines and actually made it right? And I don't mean offering a random replacement figure, I mean actually making the consumer whole and giving them what they wanted and what they paid for. Please, everyone, share this video far and wide. I'm going to. Thank you, Ninja, for just stating the facts and providing the (copious!) evidence to support your case that this line is in trouble and fast action is needed.
They have not addressed their QC issues. WHen you call for support they make you jump through hoops only to send you "something" of equal value, which are generally products that didn't sell well.
Man hasblow never set me a replacement of refund for a marvel legends fig I bought directly from them. Missing pieces. Which is all I wanted and they couldn’t even bother. 😡 lol their customer service is garbage!! Man I really wanna give them up for good but the majority of my collections is hasbro. Lately I’ve been super selective. To almost just archive it all and stick with sh figurarts and mafex, idk
I’m really bothered by the QC on Classified recently and hope Hasbro will turn it around. I love this line and hope they’ll listen to the fans on this one.
Classified's bad QC is the main reason I'm hesitant to get more figures from this line. There's some cool stuff, but I *need* to wait for reviews on these things. Glad you shouted out Mad Hatter's video. He was spot on with that rant, the amount of company loyalists is insane. Criticism is necessary for anything to improve. I wonder how these dudes do in everyday life if *a toy* getting criticised gets them all defensive. Just sad, man.
I don’t really collect Classified but I did pick up the Tiger Force Outback on clearance and got the leg issue you covered (thanks for the fix by the way). It was upsetting but wasn’t as bad since I got it on deep clearance and mostly got it for the headsculpt. However if I had paid full price and this happened to me multiple times I’d obviously be a very upset customer. Keep up the good work as always Ninja!
Thank you very much for sharing this important viewpoint! Thanks to those reviewers who get items in advance and are fully transparent about quality issues (e.g. bad paint jobs, missing accessories, weak joints, design choices, etc.), informed consumers have the opportunity to avoid making purchasing mistakes such as buying Cover Girl at full price (or at all). If too many customers continue to buy sub-par products at full price, then the quality control issues are likely to continue going unaddressed. (One minor victory is that Hasbro will resume using plastic window packaging in 2024 for its action figure lines, which provide customers the opportunity to check for bad paint jobs and missing pieces prior to purchasing and opening a product.) - As a 6 inch Hasbro action figure collector (Star Wars Black Series, Marvel Legends, G. I. Joe Classified, and Power Rangers: Lightning Collection), my biggest concern is whether the face portrait is satisfactory. I absolutely HATE how the recent packaging changes took away the customer's ability to conduct a preliminary check regarding whether an action figure's hair piece had been glued on correctly and whether facial details (eyes, pupils, eyebrows, etc.) had been applied correctly.
I actually passed on cover girl because I thought she looked like Joan Rovers and every review I saw has that broken arm. Although maybe I should’ve got her for the free press from you lol. Just Kidding. I’ve collected GI Joe from 1982 on. Still am, I’m a GI Joe fan that loves it when they get it right, but isn’t afraid to call BS when I see it. My hope is this wave is a stumble but things get straightened out next wave when some of my Faves hit in my fav decos. Torpedo, Bazooka, Remember kc N Roll (yeah he’s different but I approve) Shopwreck etc. I think Stormshadow, Sprit, BAT and Alley are this far the pinnacle of this line. I think the penicle of the line so far. It can get back there but o have doubts.
I've had more issues with the hips on the figures. Thankfully my Dusty and Cover Girl have good arms. My Zarana has the arm issue and was irritating but it was an easy enough fix. Thanks for showing these videos and being upfront with the community Ninja. I've been seeing less figures sell out online and I think it's the QC and price hikes. I canceled my Cobra Valkyries pre-orders because of the price and QC.
Fortunately I haven't had problems with my figures until now, but it's important to understand that just because some of us had luck it doesn't mean that there isn't QC issues with these figures and that's something that many don't seem to get, as if acknowledging it somehow affects them in a negative way when it actually makes us aware as customers to be able to demand better quality and avoid these things from happening to us and others in the future. There's a reason why so many big and small reviewers had problems with them in their reviews so there's definitely enough evidence, specially because they acquire more figures than the average customer that chooses a couple releases every now and then. Thanks for this video mate, sorry that it happened to you. Whether is $100 or $20, it sucks when a product ends up lacking quality and it feels like wasted money, specially when it's something that we are passionate about.
Yo Ninja! Your video and analysis is spot on. I've been heavily involved in Classified since shortly after inception, even army building as I go. Their QA issues have been very bad for me over the last year or so. Most recently, I received 6 figures and 5 had issues (Cover Girl- same arm issue.....MM BBQ and Falcon had paint defects.....Both my Crimson BATs had something wrong with their waist). It honestly has been so disappointing having to spend time on the phone with Hasbro Customer Support, packing everything back up and shipping it back). I can feel myself losing interest :(
Facts help and thank you for putting this video out there. I have a Cover Girl as well and have had no problems with her arms as of yet. Going to be careful now with her. Would have never had known about this issue if you had not said something. Keep up what you are doing and totally agree with what you have to say!
Thanks for the real review. At first I thought you just have bad luck with female arms on Classified (I remember the Zarana review), but nope. Everyone is having “bad luck.” Classified is so uneven, it’s frustrating. You have the QC issues, but also, what is up with the sculpts, especially faces. Looking at Zarana and Outback (I love both of the Outback releases) I almost can’t believe this is the same line that handed in that Falcon figure as acceptable work. And even Outback has QC issues with the leg. Blurg Funny you mention Mad Hatter because partway through this video I thought, “I’m going to comment about what Hatter said,” then you reference that exact video. What do you think of the Hasbro and Mattel announcement? If you are going to react in a video or podcast, I’ll wait. Wassup as always love seeing your name pop up man and I think the Collab won't really affect figures much so its not a big deal for me maybe for car guys though it will be. Also it could be the beginning stages of Hasbro finally taking over Mattel doubt it but we ll see still a possibility though.
Just opened my Cover Girl and boom! Arm off. $25 is a lot. I am deeply thankful for Bobby for having great figures, and for you Ninja for calling Bobby on issues in the beginning. Excited for the truck and robots. Hope your night, or day depending on when you see this is great.
My Zarana also had that issue, haven't gotten Covergirl yet but a friend of mine got her and she has the issue too. oh also what head sculpt was that on Scarlett, I want to say Jean Grey but if not please let me know whose head sculpt it was
One more thing I wanted to add I actually canceled mine from Big Bad toy store because I saw robo on the fwoosh talking about how bad his looked and how bad the arm was and I just said no I don't need one I saw other people how they made theirs better so when I do see one out of the store I might get it but I did cancel mine just because of this reason just FYE lol
Who the hell are these ppl that just shrug and be like it's only 25 bucks and up ?? That's some disposable income, right there. Nah, yer not crazy. Arms popped off, and my woman asked, "Who did her make up ?" I swapped her head with BW with the green vest/ blonde hair. Had to heat up arm. Damn shame, I'm here for the nostalgic, but damn doesn't mean shit on us.
The excuse that thier just toys is stupid. Its a multi billion dollar company that has quality control issues left and right and barely cares about its fans. We have a right to complain tbh
Based articulated ninja is always based! And Thanks for the shoutout brother! Add me to the janky arm cover girl list 😢, time to get a burnt 12 dollar burger
Dear Hasbro, We need high quality plastic. We need low prices. We need window boxes. We need good distribution. Thank you for your attention in this matter. Sincerely, Your Customers
My guess is that we're seeing the effects of cost-cutting...which I suppose is pretty obvious. Most of the past 10, or so, figures I've gotten have had some annoying issues. The sculpts on Cover Girl and Falcon aren't my favorite. And I've had some super tight and/or super loose joints on Serpentor, Zarana, Cover Girl, Tiger Force Outback, CG BATs, etc. Prior to those figures, the production quality was notably higher. I don't know if it's mostly factory QC, engineering or a combination of the two. I just hope they can tighten the quality up again without sending prices through the roof.
Preach brother preach! Preach the truth! 💯 Hasbro is shitting the bed on all they do. They need to turn things around quick, don’t want no issues with Shipwreck if they do my boy wrong I’m out. Like always keep up the great work Ninja!
Thank you for the truth telling! I am a kit basher too, so "fixing/ correcting" this is a challenge for me . . . BUT not fair to collectors! These are not cheap hobbies either, and we all know collectors may even pay double on the secondary market. Mebbe someone at the Hasbro factory went to work a little too "high", while listening to dope jazz music with the slide trombone and their thinking was like, "if I mess up cases of Cover Girl, Articulated will make a video of my work and play dope jazz music with the slide trombone for the soundtrack". Yes, no logic.
I was a G.I. JOE kid growing up. So the opportunity to get updated versions of the characters I knew and loved as a kid was fantastic. But between the QC issues, the price hikes and the general fuckery, I am giving serious consideration to my purchases. I have already pretty much stopped collecting the Black series, and have pared back collecting Classified to just the figures I had as a kid or REALLY wanted. The one exception has been the Crimson b.a.t. never had them as a kid, or wanted them. But this incarnation just drew me in.
This is what needed to be said ! Thank you ninja and all the other real RUclipsrs who also mentioned the problems. We love the line and we all want it to continue. But this kinda quality from switching factories to save money will end up costing hasbro customers in the end. Everything ninja said in this video is true. If only someone at hasbro could see just one video , I wish it would be this one.
I’ve had issues with the hips mostly. Soft, gummy plastic on the ball joints. A lot of them have severe stress marks and I’m afraid to articulate them anymore.
my wive pulled the plug today she said it doesnt make you happy anymore the all break and look bad you hate the company Im stepping in and she said no more so I'm banned from hasbro products now. I'm happy I took a years worth of toy dollars and bought a new guitar. Cover sitting on the counter with a broke arm as a reminder "never again"
It's going to make me whenever I do get around to opening all my Classified figures still in the box. I just know I'll have QC issues with a bunch of them but I can't open them until I get display space, cases, etc.
Great you show us all the truth and I said it for a view years, vote with your wallet! Hasbro doesn't get a penny from me anymore and I canceled ALL my pre-orders! Now I am happy with other lines from smaller companies!
Thanks for these reviews ANR. I've been noticing this trend of bad qc & it's high time we put hasbro on blast for this. I have both figures & I haven't opened them yet. I'm almost afraid to now lol. Keep up the great videos
The arm missile is Zarana's action feature. If you piss her off, her arm detaches and becomes a rocket to take out any collector's eye out. Ninja, she attacked you because you did the drop test on her sister. You had it coming. 😂 I hope my copy of Zarana and Cover Girl doesn't take out my eye. If you see me at a con with an eye patch, you will know why. This line better go back where it was and become better because there is a lot of characters to be made- Shipwreck better be good.
Thanks for the video Ninja. I don't collect GI Joe, but I watch the review videos. This is insane! How can a fan base tolerate this sort of quality for the price to pay? This is GI Joe man, how can you treat the line with this sort of manufacturing defects?
I actually saw 6 Zaranas at one of my Walmarts today. I couldn't believe it. All I ever see are the Snake Eyes movie figures & retro Lady Jayes. I was so freakin tempted to pick up a Zarana. But they also had 1 McFarlane Page Punchers Black Manta so I grabbed him instead.
I've got a suspicious feeling about the female Cobra Troopers now 🤔 My one copy of the Crimson BAT is really floppy. Seems the repaints get looser from reusing the mold. Keep keepin it real.
Just did a huge order for classified series. Both of these figs are included in it & now I’m worried. Great video ninja, I’ll let you know if the dogshit QC makes it to Australia
My first zarana didn't have any arm issues. I bought a second one because of the alternate hair to display her both ways. The second one I bought had the Arm issues. Then with CoverGirl my first copy had an arm issue which I fixed. I gave that to my son and ordered a second copy of her and the second one was fine.
Their whole entire action figure department is falling victim to manufacturing cuts. It’s obvious. The quality is almost worse than what Neca’s was 5/7 years ago. Between what they’ve done to D&D and now their whole action figure division, Hasbro has become the Disney of Toys and games. Everything they touch is turning to trash.
I dont look at what you said as being negative at all. You are telling the truth, unfortunately to some people the truth hurts. Keep up with the great videos man.
Hawtdamn!!! This is why I love this channel, A.N. speakin' truth. Not gonna lie, you had me rollin' bro 🤣. Let them keyboard warriors keep eating their shit sammiches, I'm done with Haslow
Got mine a couple weeks ago. My Face is fine. The right arm didn't pop off but you can see the pin and it does start to separate when posing. The worst part for me is the right knee is extremely loose. Just wiggles. I will use Kiki's loose joints to fix it but I shouldn't have to. My Outback is great though! I let them know about their QC issues on the reviews on Pulse. Hopefully it gets better. Their Crimson Guard had the same issue or close to it too.
That's pretty much why I skipped this wave. After seeing this happen again and also the crimson bat having bobble heads I said to myself how the (ef) they let this pass?? Why are these pricess like this at this rate?? $25 is a lot and screw that! Thank you ninja for addressing it! ✨✨✨✨🙌🙌🙌🙌
When it comes to the bats the classic colored bat turned out perfect. I have about 8 of them and they are great. I just picked up python patrol and a crimson and the python is still really good. The crimson feels different like the head is lighter and the crotch piece is thinner and won’t sit still. Still love the figures and the line in general I’m just not all in like I was at the beginning. Hell I may even sell the whole collection and keep just like 3 or 4 figures.
You just saved me $25. I was going to buy this figure FOR THE ARMS. Lol I was going to make a Custom Jim Lee Jacketed.. , jacket (?) Psylocke with the Cover girl Arms. Guess I'm just making a custom jacket instead. Actually I am full stop on buying full retail price for figures just to use parts for customs. It an expensive bad habit.
I had the exact same QC issues with Cover Girl and when I went to Pulse to rate it, the page was filled with purchasers echoing your sentiments. Hasbro is definitely going backwards.
People absolutely should be calling out Hasbro whenever they screw up, elsewise they'll have no motivation to either improve or at the very least address the issues. Power Rangers fans actually managed to get a response from the Lightning Collection team about the increase in QC issues, afterall.
Hasbro products have all been in decline, gummy legends, Joe's who's arms just pop off, Indiana Jones figures who can't stand up. Its a shame yeah its greed on hasbro's part but we as collectors are partially to blame because we keep buying this stuff.
As for the QC issues... it's insulting to us that love these lines. It's like they chose to drop a giant steamy deuce into a box, charge us more for it, and expect us to smile about it.
There were so many collectors that voted classified as their "best toy line of the year" in 2022. I have no idea how so many people didn't see these signs. Months in between waves, delays, broken hip pegs, arms popping off, whack face paint. And worst of all, no communication or acknowledgement on any of these glaring problems. This line could be cool and they they're trying to give as much value for the money, but they've got to do better. They're showing no signs of getting any better, and so this may be another Hasbro line that I'll sadly drop if they don't improve.
I hear you I can pose mine to do so just fine but on that note they continue to improve and are now releasing a new mold with better articulation and possible a huge truck without haslab/crowdfunding 🤣
Yeah man, I picked up Zarana and Dusty the other day and her arms feel super weak, nothing fell off out right but I feel like if I tried to put her in a certain pose it would, Dusty is fine as of now. I just got back from target a few minutes ago with Falcon and he seems like he's from a different line, that face and the accessories are whack to say that he least
Lenny did say they was working with a new buck and plastic during a live event right before the stalker wave. And if you notice, Dusty and stalker have skinny arms. But dusty has a softer plastic than stalker. And everything after stalker is gummy. Including older bucks that got rereleased like the crimson bats. They are much softer than the others. This is probably due to reviews complaining about stiff joints developing stress marks. But i truly believe its greed, so they use cheaper plastic while raising prices. This entire line has been modified every time a new wave comes out. First we complained about the bling paint apps. So they took away the gold, and toned down, if not removed the reds. Then we complained about the futuristic look of the figures. Then they went to the retro paint apps. And we complained about the futuristic guns. Then they went to The more realistic look. Then we complained about availability. So they flooded the shelves. Then we complained about them peg warming. Then they ended up on clearance. Then we wanted the more traditional sunbow figs, so they started to go in that direction. They are constantly trying to please the fans to point where the quality is suffering and they wont know until reviewers, (AKA free advertisers) do the quality control videos for them. And on top of that, they need to save money so they fire half the crew. And make the plastic even cheaper. So this is what we get. 🤦🏾♂️ When you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody. At least the marvel Legends team is sticking to what works. So we keep getting the same bucks that are hot swapped to make new figs.
Honestly man, it’s Hasbro in general. They keep using that shitty grade plastic, that’s gummy AF. Just look at the 3.75 Star Wars weapons. Literally like a gummy gun. Joints half frozen. Tired of apologists ruining these lines with blindness.
My Zarana and Cover Girl both had the same exact issue. Remember when one of the Valaverse Action Force figures had an issue with the crotch breaking for some figures? Hasbro lost me after they wanted $60 for a half-painted, poorly articulated Cyborg Spiderwoman.

🤣 thanks
I was a G.I. JOE kid growing up. So the opportunity to get updated versions of the characters I knew and loved as a kid was fantastic.
But between the QC issues, the price hikes and the general fuckery, I am giving serious consideration to my purchases. I have already pretty much stopped collecting the Black series, and have pared back collecting Classified to just the figures I had as a kid or REALLY wanted. The one exception has been the Crimson b.a.t. never had them as a kid, or wanted them. But this incarnation just drew me in.
I don't even want to take her out of the box now🤬
Love how you keeping it real! 100%
Thanks will
I had cover Girl arm problem, too, but it miraculously recovered after being soaked in hot water
When I opened up my covergirl that same arm was detached in the box🤦🏾♂️
It's going downhill seriously hasbro should be ashamed of the quality control
I’ve had issues with the hips mostly. Soft, gummy plastic on the ball joints. A lot of them have severe stress marks and I’m afraid to articulate them anymore.
I gave up on posing the legs on my B.A.T.s. I have twenty of them between the three releases so far... ALL shipped with gimpy legs or developed them.
Yea same here
It happened to my Dusty straight out the box. Now I just buy Joes if on discount for headsculpts or other fodder for my Valaverse figures
my wive pulled the plug today she said it doesnt make you happy anymore the all break and look bad you hate the company Im stepping in and she said no more so I'm banned from hasbro products now.
Yeah man like I said I only had an issue with breaker. Doesn’t mean you won’t encounter differently. Hoping you don’t. It was nice chatting with you.
I'm done with Hasblo. Between shitting on their fans, raising prices no window boxes and sending trash out on purpose I'm done with them
Great you show us all the truth and I said it for a view years, vote with your wallet!
😂...keep testing the algorithm my Ninja❣️
🤣 I'ma try
Damn dude you have some sick talent. You made Covergirl in that all girl turntable thing look amazing. Wow!
Thank you She is her detail and everything looks great it's mainly the qc thats the issue
I haven't opened my Cover Girl yet. She's sitting right here. Now I'm scared.
Rip that band aid off. Only way to see what you got. Hoping it was a good one like I was fortunate enough to get.
Facts open her up but I too also hope you got a good one and not a bad one
The arm missile is Zarana's action feature. If you piss her off, her arm detaches and becomes a rocket to take out any collector's eye out. Ninja, she attacked you because you did the drop test on her sister. You had it coming. 😂 I hope my copy of Zarana and Cover Girl doesn't take out my eye. If you see me at a con with an eye patch, you will know why. This line better go back where it was and become better because there is a lot of characters to be made- Shipwreck better be good.
🤣
Thanks for the video Ninja. I don't collect GI Joe, but I watch the review videos. This is insane! How can a fan base tolerate this sort of quality for the price to pay? This is GI Joe man, how can you treat the line with this sort of manufacturing defects?
My 25th anniversary 4 inch figures arms stay on, lack luster line, bring back good gi joes.
I like my chicks kinda loose but this is ridiculous
Way to go Articulated Ninja!! Fantastic video. Keeping it Real 100% Just subscribed to your channel.
Thanks 🔥
I actually saw 6 Zaranas at one of my Walmarts today. I couldn't believe it. All I ever see are the Snake Eyes movie figures & retro Lady Jayes. I was so freakin tempted to pick up a Zarana. But they also had 1 McFarlane Page Punchers Black Manta so I grabbed him instead.
I've got a suspicious feeling about the female Cobra Troopers now 🤔 My one copy of the Crimson BAT is really floppy. Seems the repaints get looser from reusing the mold. Keep keepin it real.
While I don't have those particular figures, I can't really say but have many others and so far they turn out fine. I must be one of the few lucky.
On the bright side ...they brining back the window boxes ..
I have just started soaking them all in hot water when I get any 1:12 scale figures anymore before I move them around.
Somehow Kathleen Kennedy is responsible for this
Just did a huge order for classified series.
Extremely fair critique. I agree 100 on the happy channels.
YEAH! Preach brother, the only way they will listen is if we hit 'em in the pocket.
My crimson bat was junk. We waited too long for junk toys. She should of came with a sandwich instead of a wrench!
I do agree though that these quality control issues should not be there considering these things are a 24.99 retail now.
You was smarter and stronger then me to skip I should of did that but she's literally the only one out the wave I really wanted smh
Dusty and crimson guards also have same issue ..
Hasbro is in decline. On EVERYTHING. They are destroying their own company.
I had the exact same QC issues with Cover Girl and when I went to Pulse to rate it, the page was filled with purchasers echoing your sentiments. Hasbro is definitely going backwards.
It's usually the left arm for many toy companies.
Corporate Greed at its finest folks.
The QC is horrible but lets be honest, it’s not dying.
lol at the valaverse praise, they can't even look down the sights of a weapon because of their articulation.
I have consistently bad luck with classified figures QC. Especially in the thighs. But they look so good I haven’t found the strength to quit yet!
Good points Benson
🦖: I don't even collect the line & I see the decline... SMH... 🤦🏻♀️
Honestly man, it’s Hasbro in general. They keep using that shitty grade plastic, that’s gummy AF. Just look at the 3.75 Star Wars weapons. Literally like a gummy gun. Joints half frozen. Tired of apologists ruining these lines with blindness.
I got the good zarana, but my luck was not with me for the cover girl. I feel your pain, and I don't even want to talk about that face on falcon.
🤣
Man I didn't know Hasbro made model kits *sarcasm*
🤣 dammnn
Who’s head did you use for your Scarlett?
Marvel Legends comic black widow
