Kind of sad to see that we haven't got much further since Rams and Braun. Apple with Steve Jobs is the only exception but besides that the design of products didn't get any better since then.
There's Philippe Stark, Karim Rashid, Ross Lovegrove, Naota, SOMA, Nendo, and a few others. A lot of them may not be household names but product design had been pushing the envelope tho maybe not as common as Apple products

They were influenced but I wouldn't say copied. Rams admires Apple very much.
the way foreward is referencing, mixing and applying and thus evolving, very little is invented nowadays
