In my opinion the greatest hip hop song of all time. Felt like everybody from the south came through and delivered an A+ on their assignment. Definition of an anthem for sure.
Great record for sure, but not the goat. Eminem "stan" is better hip hop record. It's easy to write a great verse. It's not easy to tell Astoria from tell different people POV, masks it compelling, entertaining, and dope. Anyone can rap about bitches and hoes, making money, and hustling. Sit down and write a story that rhymes, has a setting, plot, characters, and motivations.
I always say The Mack is the blueprint for Hip-Hip. That movie is so influential, so many people mimicked the Players Ball scene or create records referencing that and the movie too.
@@cloutcancunya the mack is the truth. How to be a player,an episode of martin, dave chappelle, outkast, jay z, 8ball n mjg and bunch of other artist and movies referenced it
Definitely Top 5 rap songs for me 1.internationl players anthem/choose you... various 2. American dreaming..jayz 3.Dear mama..tupac 4. Elevators..outcast 5. childrens story.. slick Rick
Not gonna lie, this song had to grow on me. First few listens I didn't feel it, Then I started to pick up the pieces. having Andres verse before the beat drop that switches to Pimp C right when it does was genius. Brilliant sample, brilliant chemistry between UGK & OutKast.
Song Suggestions: UNLV - Drag Em Thru The River Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz - Get Low T.I. - Swagga Like Us C - Murder - Down 4 My N's Any song from Mac Miller or Tyler, The Creator
I heard the Project Pat record at my boy DJ Ron G's crib in 2003. I made a beat using the same record years later and then the Outkast/UGK record came out and I was sick. 😂😂😂😂😂 They killed it theou
This is one of all of our all time favorites ♥️ I’ll alw remember the first time I heard: “So, I typed a text to a girl I used to see…” then when that beat dropped ‼️🍻 brb y’all 😆
3 stacks verse is exactly me.. Had friend girls, but nothing serious.. Found this one chick that had me thinking how imma tell the others i found "her".. Did the deal, and it then the rest of the song played out.. Crazy stuff
Hearing the story behind the early Jay Z and Dre Collaborations would be dope af. Especially considering the stories about the west coast running up on J and making him write lyrics literally with a gun to his head....
It is a track with ugk and 3 6 mafia they did it first together 3 6 mafia wanted more money it was around the same time they won a Grammy Bun B already stated this
20 year anniversary for: Pump It Up - Joe Budden Like A Pimp - David Banner ft Lil Pimp Ridin Spinners Three 6 Mafia ft Lil Flip Damn! - Youngbloodz Neva Scared - Bonecrusher ft Killer Mike & TI
Can you do "Call Some H*es" featuring Chamillionaire, Kanye West, and Stat Quo. I find the collab unlikely due to their respective regions and point in time in their careers.
Only thing that changed from the original was they let that snare hit with a clap combined and added the intro with no beat. Everything else is the same
In my opinion the greatest hip hop song of all time. Felt like everybody from the south came through and delivered an A+ on their assignment. Definition of an anthem for sure.
Right the whole song feels like a celebration of what the south had done in HipHop up to that point.

Definitely!! Man I repeat it every time I hear it!! 🔥🔥🔥
RIP Pimp C 🙏🐐
His Verse on that "International Players Anthem" Track is always legendary
One of the greatest songs ever. Still in rotation for me!
One of the greatest songs of all time, it just feels like a celebration of the south. Thank you for the video man
Big Boi actually chose to only rap over the drums that 3Stacks left out.. Thats why the beat flips again, and his cadence matches those drums

Just saw the movie 'The Mack' in full about a month ago. Never really realized how influenced it was to hip-hop. Same thing for 'Superfly'.

@@cloutcancuna lot of movies from the 1970’s blaxploitation era were sampled in hip hop songs

Idk I dig andre verse but I think big Boi's is such a gem of knowledge

That was a classic too!

The story of ghetto superstar would be a good one, supposedly Ol’ Dirty just accidentally walked into the wrong studio and became part of the song
“Don’t you get mad at me, cause yo broad den chose up”
12:35 this goes to show how out of touch these labels be
check out pimp c book..you won't be able to put it down for real.
