This is my favourite album ever It was real fitting for the time it came out. I remember when how we do first came out I was walking down the street in my town it must have been on the radio and everyone had the same station on it was banging out of cars and stores everyone had it turned up, that track is still hard nearly 20 years later. I’m gonna sound real old now but if you wasn’t a young dude in the early/mid 00s you ain’t gonna get The Game fully he was the voice of the streets back at that time, the raw MC. Thanks for the video, I never heard the original Dreams till now I think it’s a little corny and album version was better but still dope hearing it.

According to Young Buck, T.I.'s camp requested that Ludacris change his verse before they clear T.I.'s verse to be on the album and Ludacris had refused, so T.I. got replaced with The Game. Young Buck said "Even throughout the song, you don't hear either one talking about killing each other, it's just more of a competitive thing. Damn, that's hip-hop. So that's why I don't really understand the whole 'changing your verse' part about the situation, but it is what it is. I ended up having to take T.I.'s verse off of my album. I got G-Unit South Records coming pretty soon; I got an artist I've been working with by the name of D-Tay. So y'all can look forward to D-Tay on Stomp Part II. I think it's the perfect setup. Awesome, I always wanted to know more about this album. It is a certified classic. I’m excited for Drillmatic, I got a feeling it’s gonna be special too, I haven’t enjoyed much of Game’s albums since The Doctor’s Advocate but his first two albums I still play them regularly though.
Now this was a classic. I was in ha when this dropped and I was a big gunit fan. He was my favorite rapper and im an east coast guy. I always debated with a friend about how hate it or love it was the song of 05. After the first couple singles, I loved start from scratch.
This album dropped the 2nd semester of my Junior year of high school. I definitely remember when GUnit was the hottest group in the game. This album was pretty solid and I really liked Westside Story, Higher, Start From Scratch, and Runnin’ back in 2005. Til this day this album still ends up in my rotation. Also the things you mentioned about the tracks is my first time learning and hearing about a lot of these stories. I’m going to go listen to some of the alternates right now.
I had heard all of the radio hits such as Hate It or Love It and How We Do, but it was hen Runnin' dropped that I started to sit upo and take notice. That is still my jam and Start From Scratch and when i bump to the album, those two classic jams are always on repeat.
This album kicked the door down for the new west coast era, alot of fans dont understand what The Game did and meant for the West. Real fans know though that the album after this one was actually better overall, The Documentary was just more commercial and had the interscope machine behind it.
It was a smart move by Game. He helped put the West back on the map, and that whole album is impeccable( no skips). It was pitched to him as the new NWA, I wouldn't stand around hoping for another moment either. Some times you only get 1 shot, 1 opportunity. Game took his, and blew up. He's a great rapper, just let the success and his manager hype him a little too much. The Game with Dre and 50 could of stayed unstoppable

The Documentary was one of my favorite Game albums and G Unit albums. Too bad Game never had a chance to release a second G Unit album, if he did, I really think it would've topped the Doctor's Advocate. All G Unit needed was Game's membership would've loved to see Game go at it lyrically with Fat Joe, Nas, & Jadakiss. Shit would've been epic. What would've made the Documentary a better album tho is if he put that version of "Where I'm From" featuring Dr Dre on it. Added Lloyd Banks and Young Buck on "Runnin" to have that Banks and Buck feature along with Yayo's. "Til The Wheels Fall Off" should've been included on the official version of the album oppose to the deluxe version and "Westside Story remix" featuring Snoop Dogg, including a verse from Snoop, should've been on the album and a G Unit remix to "How We Do". It is what it is I guess.
The documentary was 🔥🔥 ..everyone that was on gunit had a great first album 50 banks buck game and the first guilt group album ..Yaya’s album wasn’t trash but it was just good wasn’t great
I got this album the day it came out. I remember seeing game in the back ground of g unit music videos and wonder who he was then I started hearing the buzz about the game. First memories of him was seeing him on the certified gangster music video with diplomats and rock wit u the song gunit did with Joe

If I believe correctly westside story was stated to be a 50 song and Snoop was to be on the hook. This was stated to be one of a couple of songs that 50 gave to the project to finish it. There's an interview of snoop saying 50 still paid him for it although it never got released. There's a version of Westside you can find with Game and Snoop on the hook.
@@matthewmann8969 no the difference is that the songs were actually slated for the massacre and 50 removed his verses and gave the track to Game to record new vocals and kept the hook. Now this is based on interviews from 50 around that time so of course take it with a grain of salt. But yeah it would be a different situation than ja and jay. Also ghost writers exist in hip hop where people do write verses for others nothing wrong with that, but what I was referring to was songs that were already recorded and were made for the purpose of being on the massacre and we're then changed and put on the documentary.

I was a huge fan of The Game when he first came out. I even made one of my first mixtape songs to his *"Westside Story"* beat and another sampling his vocals. As a native Californian who loves eastcoast lyrics The Game really resonated with me. But I actually didn't really like his Documentary album that much. He had some classics on there but toneally it seemed like it was all over the place. I personally thought his Doctor's Advocate album was better because it was more consistent and sounded more westcoast. But I still have my Documentary cd. I remember being mad because it was delayed like twice until it finally dropped in January of '05
I remember me being from Los Angeles in a suburb of it anyway hearing about Game before he was signed to Dr Dre And 50 Cent he was making good noise in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland, And Vlejo before the Aftermath/G Unit/Interscope sign up. It was not until he got signed to Dr Dre And 50 Cent both though until he became a country known name and once The Documentary was released a worldwide household name. The fact remains and stays that without the push that Dre And 50 each gave Game then I doubt he would of became as huge as he did yeah.
Couple things you can be sure about Game is; he can rap his ass off and he will DISS YOUR FAVORITE RAPPER AND BIG THEM UP ALL ON THE SAME ALBUM! He’s been doing that his whole career🤷🏾♂️😂
Classic album. From beginning till the end. Just like the first albums of Eminem and 50. All Dre produced. I also love two other tracks from Game: doctors advocate ft Busta and Never Be Friends.. amazing songs
So if I’m not mistaken, the song at 11:53 became “Rollin”; planned for “Jesus Piece”. Ye recorded his vocals around 2005 & the “Jason’s Lyric” sample would’ve been from the choir in carnival scene; Ye used LaShun Pace.

@@themadrapper101 he might be top ten but to say game is top 5 west coast Mcs is a long reach. There’s still more mcs that I could put before game. I’m not a hater but his best album is his first, his sophomore and junior album were okay but everything after is very unforgettable.
This is the album that made me a fan of the game my top five tracks off the documentary : 1. Higher 2. Put You On The Game 3. Start From Scratch 4. The Documentary 5. Like Father Like Son
YO!
I'm from Poland and this album was my one of top albums when I grow up!
Instant classic.
The Game still my top 5 rapers of all time.
5:26 T.I. is on the original version of Stomp where T.I. & Ludacris diss each other in their verse. I let him speak on the whole situation."
Game's verse was better than Luda's and T.I's verses really I think the official version should've just had Buck and Game.
luda killed t.i. on stomp
I remeber that it was the hardest record at the time it was released. He gave oxygen to the west coast. Thank You
This album dropped the 2nd semester of my Junior year of high school.
Till this day I can listen to this album from beginning to the end.
I bought this album 5 different times because it’s that good …. My favorite album every track bangs
Awesome video. And i love that his debut album. Listened when it was fresh in 2005, i was teenager in school back then))
🙏🏾Once Again Special Blessings to you my Brotha for REPEATEDLY Putting out Classic videos ‼️💯 THE GAME is one of my favorite rappers ever.......he held us down for years And doesn't get the credit he deserves‼️💯 i wish after this you put light on....DOCTORS ADVOCATE ‼️ JESUS PIECE ‼️1992 ALBUM‼️ AND BORN 2 RAP‼️ TO ME All hip hop Classic ‼️💯👑
Snoop dogg was on west side Story hook before 50. It's on youtube

Well put together sir , didnt have a clue how any of these songs were made. Big up G
Definitely a classic album I still bump this album
Great video, thank you. I remember this album dropping. New it was a classic from 1st listen.
the title track itself is underrated af .. my fav off the album along with start from scratch
I saw the game live in Montreal 2005. It was the only time that he was allowed to cross the border.
The Game is a Fucking LEGEND!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Classic Game is my favorite rapper of all time no matter what he does…

The documentary was 🔥🔥 ..everyone that was on gunit had a great first album 50 banks buck game and the first guilt group album ..Yaya’s album wasn’t trash but it was just good wasn’t great
1. Hate It Or Love It
2. Special
3. Put You On The Game
4. Runnin'
5a. How We Do
5b.Dreams
I got this album the day it came out. I remember seeing game in the back ground of g unit music videos and wonder who he was then I started hearing the buzz about the game. First memories of him was seeing him on the certified gangster music video with diplomats and rock wit u the song gunit did with Joe
When dre mix records he makes it sound so much better
Man I was 15 when that boost commercial dropped.. almost made me want a boost mobile phone
I am here to remind everybody that 300 bars and running is one of the best diss records ever made 🍺50 made a couple of diss tracks after that buth couldn’t hang whit games 300 bars and runnin
The game is so dope I wish he would’ve made different decisions but I’ll rock with him regardless a full G-Unit reunion would be crazy
No. That ship has sailed. The best we can hope for is Bank$, Yayo, and 50. [>
We need Drillmatic like yesterday
No. No we don’t. [>
This album is a classic like the chronic, Doggystyle, illmatic, ready to die , all eyes on me ...
The documentary is a classic that can’t be touched next to doctors advocate my top 5 is the documentary, hate it or love it, start from scratch, put you on the game and how we do
2/5. The patterns don’t lie [>
This album really is a classic.. idk how old you are bro but I was 7-8 when this dropped.. I remember being in elementary school and everyone at the lunch table singing this is how we do..
Don’t need your love was my favorite track. It still kinda sounded like Shyne clone era game kinda too. Hella emotion, Faith on the hook
Faith Evans
@@sixnine7188 my bad you right. Havocs sample is Mary
On his " The Untold Story" album, with J.T. the bigga figga, the Game sounds like Shyne..
Yup. 50 gave Game his greatest hits until KanYe, Wayne and Drake did. [>
@@kaineshigaraki5253 true.
In that case Ja writing some of Jay's hooks but not Jay's own verses would be considered Jas songs like can I get a what
@@matthewmann8969 no the difference is that the songs were actually slated for the massacre and 50 removed his verses and gave the track to Game to record new vocals and kept the hook.
@@matthewmann8969 Yes. Jay:Z however has openly admitted to taking other rappers songs, Renegade, is EMineM’s song that Jay took.
Jay:Z has never pride himself as an artist’s artist. He’s always pride himself on his business and the art he creates. He has never had a problem to say who came up with what. 99 problems is Timbalands song. Lucifer is KanYe’s song. Songs that Jay took for himself. [>
My favorites from the album:
5. Start From Scratch
4. Westside Story
3. Dreams
2. We Ain't
1. Don't Need Your Love
Put you on the game , Start from scratch , Hate it or love it , How we do , We aint
I was around 4 or 5 years old when this album dropped so I don't remember much, but I do remember 106 & Park was playing both How We Do and Hate It Or Love It videos back to back and honestly this album wouldn't have much recognition if it wasn't for 50 Cent and Dr. Dre cause you gotta remember 50 Cent was huge after Get Rich Or Die Tryin and Dr. Dre was and still is a big producer but that's my take.
And My top 5 are
1. Westside Story
2. How We Do
3. Dreams
4. Hate It Or Love It
5. We Ain't
3/5, low key 4/5. Noticing a pattern. Shoutout to 50 [>

I remember being mad because it was delayed like twice until it finally dropped in January of '05
Where I’m from. Still breathes life into me so many years later. #RIPNATE
That’s why he keeps begging for a Jay:Z verse [>
@@kaineshigaraki5253 this new game album that's about to drop jay z cleared 4 samples on the album collab might be coming
Classic album. From beginning till the end. Just like the first albums of Eminem and 50. All Dre produced. I also love two other tracks from Game: doctors advocate ft Busta and Never Be Friends.. amazing songs
His best album is Doctors Advocate
Great breakdown u did ur research for this one my guy 🔥🔥🔥🔥 thx for the great content 👊🏿
So if I’m not mistaken, the song at 11:53 became “Rollin”; planned for “Jesus Piece”. Ye recorded his vocals around 2005 & the “Jason’s Lyric” sample would’ve been from the choir in carnival scene; Ye used LaShun Pace.
Start from scratch.....is definitely a banger!
The whole album is.
It wouldn’t be no game without JT bigga figga, some people forget that.
Top 5 tracks from the documentary:
don’t need your love
Hate it or love it

Dreams

@@kaineshigaraki5253 Okay but they were still Games songs overall just with 50 assisting with choruses he did not write Games verses
@@matthewmann8969 More like 50 Cent songs with Game featured his verses on them. 50 picked the beats, structured the songs, and wrote the hooks. That’s basically the song. Game did the verses. Cool. That’s like being a glorified feature on a song [>
Tbh my favourite Game album was Doctors advocate
I love this album so much I can't pick a top 5
Who all re copped the documentary for the autographed version
1 of my favorite albums of that era
Westside Story originally had Busta Rhymes on the chorus (with a different beat)
