In the 90’s growing up in Corpus Christi Texas I heard Selena’s music everywhere and I knew she was a big deal. So much so that as a child the house phone rang and my mom told me to answer it. When I did there’s was a girl on the line asking to speak with my mother. When o told my mom she told me to ask who it was. So I did, and she said her name was Selena. And I responded... “NAH UHHHHH”. Not knowing that there was any other Selena in the world. Lol. Turns out it was a cousin of mine who shared the same name. RIP Selena. Forever beautiful and a special part of my childhood.

I still cry most times when I watch any of Selena's performances online because I just feel like we lost out on what would've been the biggest example for philanthropy and star power in Latinx culture. She will always be our queen and I don't think the sting of losing her will ever really go away for us.

This is the performance I think everyone should see! She sounds so elegant & refined! Yet she can totally switch up her voice & she’s possibly the only singer I ever heard with a hard contrast while doing Mariachi style. She not only SANG but knew how to use her voice fit for any genre she would sing & she would excel! What an amazing voice!

I’ll admit I didn’t grow up listening to her music but at one point I worked with a lot of people who adored her and they played her music all of the time. I fell in love with her music! I don’t understand a lot of what she sings because I’m faaar from fluent in Spanish, but you can really feel the emotions behind her beautiful singing. And she’s absolutely gorgeous. 💕 Whenever I watch videos of her it makes me sad to think about all she could’ve done if she wasn’t taken so soon.

On behalf of family and friends of Selena here in Corpus Christi Texas as we watch this review video, actually reaction video I correct that. We love love love your reaction to this performance and a little side note that not a lot of people know hardly anybody knows about this particular performance. Well Selena had literally just gotten over laryngitis and was barely beginning to sound like herself after a week of recovery this was her first performance and you can hear certain parts where she does lose it but regains its like a pro vocally.
Selena was major for the Latin Community. As a child her music was played daily in our household . She was taken far too early. AB did a great job in picking the right songs for her. Her voice made ever song seem perfect. I still listen to her music till this day. She will always be amazing

Her performances always bring me too tears. They bring out a little bit of every emotion. Anger for her being taken from us at such a young age. Nostalgia since it has already been a quarter century. More than anything, her grace and beauty along with all the emotion in her music. She draws you into every song with her her amazing voice and performances. The only singer that I have come across that sings with such raw and natural emotion is a young Filipina singer named Morissette Amon. She is phenomenal and reminds me of Selena!

There is a story behind her hairstyle,she was so humble and commited to her public that apparently her sister was finishing her hair and they call her to the stage so she left with her hair half done because she felt that it was not ok to leave her audience waiting. She went all brave and commited and gave her 100% with this song and with her performance (she was the queen of the stage)
