      I've always preferred domestic muscle cars over foreign but i always thought the genesis was in alot of ways better looking than them till the later years. Really wish the look had caught on more than it did =(. New ones looks awesome too but i prefer the newer camaro/mustangs over it.

      Yeah, he sells cars, but he's a genuine enthusiast. Raiti likes performance cars, of any kind, from a Fiesta ST to to a GT 500.
      He shows you the car, talks about what he likes and dislikes, and takes it for a drive. They're not his car, and they're usually dealer-new. He's not taking them to a race track.
      You see the chassis, the engine, and the interior. You hear his opinions.
      It's still your job to pick a car that's right for you.

      I have a stock 2016 Focus ST2. I'm going to keep for some mods and this week get a 2018 Focus RS. The RS will be better here in Wisconsin during the winter. Since Fore is dropping both lines I think they will hold a bit better resale value.

    oil catch cans mostly prevent dirty oil being recirculated in the turbo air intake, it depends on cars but there's usually a small pipe going from the head to the pipe before the turbo

    I have the same intake on mine. Why would he take the heat shield off :/. I also didn't hear anything about a big turbo. Stock turbo isn't putting out 350hp. More like 280 whp with stock turbo.

    • @Snyper408
      @Snyper408 6 лет назад +9

      He said 350 crank and 310 whp. I call bullshit. The stock turbo record is/was on JST's shop car with 309whp and had the AC removed. No way he's making these numbers on the stock turbo

    • @RaitisRides
      @RaitisRides  6 лет назад +4

    • @Snyper408
      @Snyper408 6 лет назад +4

      Raiti's Rides I dont think you are misleading but I think the owners numbers are way too high. Full bolt ons on the ST nets about 280whp on 93 and 290ish on E30.

  • @charlesjames1442
    @charlesjames1442 5 лет назад +1

    '13 ST2 with the MP-275 tune package, Quaife LSD, Mountune car-back and Ford Performance track springs. An identical setup pulled 263whp on a dyno. It burns 91 or better and doesn't drive me crazy on long road trips. The insurance guy doesn't worry about me either. I put on Powerstop rotors and pads last year and like them alot. Ford Brake cooling air deflectors and a Mountune turbo recirculation valve a few weeks ago. Always more to think about.

    Couple questions if i may good sir; owner and forum lurker of a '17 ST.
    Did he keep the stock diff or did the suspension set up he has help with the torque steer/wheelhop/spin (not that the former is all that bad as long as your on a clean, even road), also did he change the rear motor mount too? I assume with all that he had a downpipe too. What tuning company did he use or was it custom? Beautiful car didn't know about the rally armor, it looks awesome. and 1000% agree with the catch can I've seen REALLY BAD things about these cars (and this engine and others like it) they do a good job of keeping the oil out of where you dont want it and helps prevent carbon build up. I have literally seen a 25,000 mile FoST engine with a nightmarish amount of carbon, just youtube carbon buildup focus st lol. But anyways that could have been the oil brand, regardless a OCC will ALWAYS help and i have seen, even with other oil brands, decent amounts of carbon build up with ~50K mile engines.
    tl;dr - may i have a list of his upgrade kind sir =), OCC's are amazing get one if you dont have one on a turbo car. DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT.

    Since I have subscribed after watching your videos you have convinced me to purchase my own 2018 Focus ST . You feel like a brother to me . I think you are in Florida I live in So California . Some of the questions I might ask you may be different because of that . I am a wrencher probably like you and have quite a few tools . My daily driver prior to my new Focus ST was /is and still have it a Sliver 2002 Nissan Sentra Spec5 2.5 liter 6spd with Getrag Limited Slip Differential stock . Bought it new in 2002 so it is 16years old , live on the beach but it has always been garaged , that makes SO much difference in keeping a car . I have done all the maintenance and repair on my car . My biggest help on this is the code reader and then using Utube videos dealing with those error codes . Upgrades in the replacement parts has helped the car perform much much better than when it was new . Bosch injector replacements and new Bosch Fuel pump make it scream . Purging every other year the brake fluids Clutch fluids power steering fluid all with newest top of the line synthetics have avoided any need to rebuild the very decent brake calipers or master or clutch or slave or power steering unit . Thank god the exhaust on this was the newer stainless steel one . When the struts , shocks and bushings died I upgraded them all with KYBs that I have always been very happy with. Nice but very inexpensive ventilated cross drilled rotors with the appropriate pads have given me brakes on the car that are unbelievable . Best daily driver I ever had . Gonna keep it for now as it has a trailer hitch so I can launch my 12 ft Zodiac boat with it . I am trying to see if there is some way to put a hitch on my new Focus ST. to do that . Any ideas ? If I could do that I am sure some kid would love to have my old Spec5 .
    Anyway sorry for the extended conversation . I am trying to figure out what the first mods should be done to the Focus . First off it is WAY too quiet for me stock . I am still reading the manuals that have come with it . Because I was able to put off buying a new car I was able to pay cash for the Focus . I am getting older and so is my family so the new car will allow me to do needed welfare checks of them in Arizona and Colorado this car will allow me to travel quickly and safely and of course make it fun .
    Keep doing what you are doing you are making us all happy !

      Same Stage 3 E30 on my 17 ST1 and I made 284 HP and 397 TQ. Tune by Panda Motorworks. 350 is only attained by big turbo plus the torque figure will drop some since it won't peak so low. 2867r will get you there without Aux fuel. Throw port fuel at it and run an e50 blend and you can break into the low 400's.

    • @geewiz1694

      This is Damond Motorsports terminology. Their Stage 1 is hidden under the engine cover and catches between PCV baffle and intake manifold which catches a decent amount. The Stage 2 one is between valve cover and turbo clean side. I get next to nothing in this one. I'll be going big turbo so it might be more effective/needed then.

    I like the video but for some reason to me it sounds like a fart box... I'm not at all hating on 4 bangers either but for whatever reason I like the WRX sounds better. It's actually one of the reasons I didn't get the Ecoboost Stang... the sound just didn't gel with me. I only have a muffler delete with the nameless exhaust. If I wanted to go stage 2 it would be hella expensive because I'd need that $300 pro tune and the labor for the J pipe AND cost of that J pipe and I would still have the cats... so..... Not going to bother. I'm happy enough with the Stage 1 OTS Mishimoto/ETS tune 93.
