The huge door in front of you at the beginning of the Mine Entrance level is actually the main door to the Factory. If you approach it it will inform you it is Factory entrance. However, no matter if you navigate the entire Mines unit and you return to this door, it will stay locked. There is no way to unlock it. Quake II without music is extremely immersive.. Q2 was my first FPS game when i was 9 or 10 y/o, the game has no music because was an "RIP" version... I love Q2 without this music... have nice sounds
Virtually all of the enemies in this game are easy to kill if you know how to handle them. Only exception are Tank Commanders, who indeed are huge threat, and, of course, the Macron. 1. Guards are pretty basic "just shoot them" enemies. Just be careful that they do not come to you from behind and you will be fine. 2. Enforcer is nothing but a nuisance. Just don't get too close to him, otherwise he will use his melee attack, and constantly fire at him until he loses his head. 3. Gunner just looks scary, but is not an dangerous enemy if you know to handle him. Despite having two weapons for his hands, he can only use at the time and there is always a brief pause in between. That pause is your opportunity to let him have it. Also, it takes him exactly one second to open and fire his Grenade Launcher so that is also your opportunity to fire at him. 4. Berserker is a bit tougher enemy, but only if you allow it to get close to you. As long as you keep it at a distance and keep shooting it, you will be fine. 5. Iron Maiden is also a nuisance. Even though she does have Rocket Launcher, she actually seems to prefer using her melee attack and scratch you with her claws. As long as you dispose of it quickly, she is no real threat. 6. Gladiator literally just looks dangerous, but in reality it poses no real threat at all. Just like Iron Maiden, Gladiator seems to prefer to use his melee attack, despite having a powerful Blaster. As long as you keep distance between you and him, you will be fine. 7. Parasite is also a nuisance. Just be sure you keep moving so it cannot direct its primary attack at you and you will be fine. Another tactic that is not easy to make, but it is funny thing to do, is to jump on top of the Parasite. It cannot attack you when you are on top of it and you can shoot it point blank. 8. Medic is only dangerous if you do not gib enemies you killed as it can revive them. If you gib all the enemies near him, Medic will not be a threat at all as it seems to try to run away if he has no Strogg to revive. 9. Brains is the most pointless and by far the least dangerous enemy in the entire Quake franchise. As long as you keep distance and keep firing at it, you will be fine. Only if you come close to it, it will reveal tentacles inside its armor. Other then that, it is not even a nuisance. In most cases you can completely ignore Brans and run past it. 10. Barracuda Shark is only dangerous in water. But, luckely, most of encounters with them can actually be avoided. They are most dangerous at the beginning of Factory unit when you drop down long pipe and into the water with two of them in it. Other then that, they are pretty easy to avoid. 11. Technician is nothing but a nuisance, although it can be a threat if you don't notice it right away. If you do, just open fire at it and that's that. 12. Mutant can be dangerous if you let it come close to you. Just like Berserker, as long as you keep distance from it, it is not threat at all. 13. Flyers are also a nuisance. Just make sure to always know where they are and how many of them are there and you will be fine. 14. Icarus is no danger at all as long as you know where it is and how many of them there are. It is nothing more then just an upgraded version of Flyer. 15. Tank is first seriously dangerous enemy you encounter in the game, but if you know how to handle him it is easy to kill him. Just like real tanks, Tank does not fire at you right away, but instead moves around like he is looking for better position to shoot at you. Use this time while he is moving without shooting to let him have it. After he is done shooting, he repeats the entire process, so you will have more opportunities if it doesn't work out the first time. Good thing is that Tanks usually come one at the time. You can easily run away from them for cover as his huge armor severely limits his speed so it will take Tank forever to get to you if you run away. 16. Tank Commander is nothing more then a stronger version of Tank. Same tactics can be used on his as you used on Tanks. The biggest problem is that Tank Commanders usually come two or more at a time. 17. Super Tank is only encountered twice in the entire game. You have to fight it only once as mini boss battle, but second time it is optional and you can completely ignore it. Tactic is basically same as with Tanks and Tank Commanders. 18. Hornet is a powerful enemy. However, out of three Hornets you encounter in the game, the mini boss in Big Gun level is the only one you have to fight. Just keep moving and firing at it and it will be done soon. 19. Jorg is by far the toughest enemy in the entire game, but compared to bosses in other FPS games it is very easy to destroy it. Just keep moving and hiding behind two pillars in his arena and let him have it from time to time. Despite fighting him in big arena, for some wierd reason Jorg never leaves his starting position so you can easily dodge him. 20. Once Jorg is destroyed, Macron itself is not even a nuisance. It is literally a weakling who can be destroyed easily.
Ah yes, the ever annoying aspect of games having enemies that can be killed with a strategy. Remember, this is from 1997. Game AI was still a work in process.
I know there is Doom and Quake 1. But in my honest opinion, QUAKE 2 was the grandaddy of it all! True with competitive gaming, multi-player, single player campaign as will. Half Life was made using this engine. So was Prey. We owe so much to ID Software and honestly Epic as well and them competing to push the limits to games back in the day. But Q2 was the father of multi-player without a doubt.
Fabulous! Special thanks for this without music !!! I can not imagine how someone in reality can be fighting with real monsters and at the same time listen to a music in the headphones !!!
That's what made Trent Reznor's 'soundtrack' for Q1 so amazing. It was just some ambient noise in the background, not music necessarily, but added to the atmosphere so well.

😢Love god and love all people. 😊Believe in the gospel Jesus Christ for Jesus Christ shed his blood and died for the sins of the world and he was buried and rose again from the dead three days later. For Jesus Christ God almighty and the flesh and if you believe in the gospel you are spiritually reborn into the family of God.

Do you have the game now?
It could have been a problem in the game. But when I play everything is fine.
Games right now have better graphics but not that atmosphere of terror of these old games
Playing RTX version. Good game.
I doubt there's a better FPS out there.
