I loved that scene where she is tossing everyone octopus meat after she establishes that she is the new captain. She was training them as if they were dogs. There was something very satisfying in that scene. Because earlier, while she is catching the octopus, the rich assholes don't even bother to do shit. They were just sitting by the beach munching snacks. Then the head of the staff Paula, attempts to push her rank on Abigail as if she had anything to really threatened her with. Sure back in the boat she could have her fired. But they are not in the boat, and her rank don't mean squat. She was the only one with the actual survival skill which all depended on
What Vilma Santos and Nora Aunor did not break, she did. Don't underestimate our character actors like Dolly, Irma Adlawan, and more. All the best Dolly. Hope you'll be the first Filipino to be ever nominated for an acting Oscar nod come nominations day.

@@PolarianSymphony H.E.R. is basically an American with Filipino heritage from her mom's side. Dolly is a FILIPINA who got nominated for a Golden Globe Award.

Her story in the movie was powerful and awesome. It was great to see a Filipina kick everyone's ass. I loved the dynamics of this movie, all of them. So much to think about. Great interview here too, I love her smile
Shes an underrated actor in the Philippines even if she studied theater (in the most prestigious school in the country) & was awarded as best supporting actress by the highest award giving body (in the Phils). I loved Abigail character which in the course of an event, she quickly observed the situation and take control after. Because of her nature in the real world that no matter what she need to survive. The high life people would rather be slave and lazy, submit to her will than learning to survive in the wild. Brilliant film.
I hope this opens up wider opportunities not just for Dolly but to all deserving actors who were underrated.
In Philippines, Directors prefer looks than talents, I don't actually recognise her as an actress until now.

Kahit na she didn't make it to be nominated in Oscar's for Best Supporting Actress, for me you deserved to be part of the nomination and you're still our winner no matter what. I was about to accept the fact that's how it resulted but then now Oscar's is launching an investigation probe on how Andrea Riseborough gets Best Actress nomination, I feel like all of sudden that that there were possibilities the same happen to you and also with the rest of the nominated categories.

My golly, so many Filipinos excited about Golden Globe or Oscar….remember, it’s not about receiving an award, it’s about being part of a great film. The Color Purple was nominated many times but never got an Oscar, Glenn Close never got an Oscar, Linda Blair never got an Oscar, Marlon Brando rejected an Oscar yet their movies are still viewed every year.
