I'm from Philly. I didn't even know we had accents until Tina started talking and it hit me that yes, that is exactly how everyone I know sounds.
Not your fault. You have a lot to do what with booing Santa Claus, throwing batteries at referees, and NOT winning championships in any sports (17 Eagles are the exception that proves the rule)

The comediannes that paved the way for women to enter the field: Phyllis Diller, Lucille Ball, Joan Rivers, Carol Burnett, Gilda Radner, etc. There are many more great female entertainers to come. Maya Rudolph is one of my SNL favorites.

@ChrisHallett83 She sounded very Baltimore there with the very pronounced Maryland "o" sound. I've never spent time in Philly, so maybe Baltimore and Philly have similar accents.

I'm originally from NY and grew up around ladies like these. This was my favorite skit, back then. All three gals are just great! 😎💙

That is probably the closest to a Philly accent you are going to get from Hollywood (at least one of the accents, and I guess Sly Stallone did sort of a South Philly Italian one in Rocky but still). Very nice, Tina!

I was born in Atlanta And raised in Alabama, and EVERYONE makes me say stuff for them like I'm a damn parrot, lol. I can't help that I can't say oil and when I say bill it has 3 syllables.

Georgia has a classic accent but I’ve heard (never been there) that the classic Georgia accent is sort of dying out? I don’t know if it’s true. When I think of Georgia I always think of Designing Women. Have you ever seen that show? You may not be old enough I don’t know. Lol I’m 32 so I grew up watching it.
I teach kids who speak like characters on Letterkenney and they say the same thing.
Meanwhile I still remember my visiting my grandparents in Pennsylvania. “Hey baby, how use guys doin’?” 😅
My dads originally from up north, but moved down here when he met my mom. He’s completely lost his accent though. In fact most people think he’s a native Texan.
