Grabbing with aegis it's actually very useful to condition your opponent to not use shield, and they actually got some follow ups after grabs usually.
I'm still gonna shield against PaM. What are they gonna do, throw me? Better than getting hit by some of the stupidest hitboxes in the game.
@@malcolmfletcher2659 If you are less than 10%, if Aegis guess it right your DI, down throw double backair up b is a confirm for nearly 40%. Or front throw+da, it is then a tech chase for 30-40% damage. If you are less than 60%, down throw up b is a solid confirm no matter your DI for 26%. Dabuz’s comment is at the time that Aegis hasnot been developed so far. If you still agree with him now, it is just the opponent you met haven’t reached that level dude

Isn’t it at least a 26% free damage with grab at low percent for mythra? Learn from Shuton, back jump to approach, threat them with spaceing backair combo or falling reverse grab. Extremely useful.
pyra likes downthrow into an aerial at low percentage
This sort of grabbing style is more suited to characters such as K Rool, who can grab you out of the air quickly and has great reach for not being a tether

With pyra i don't really go for grabs out of shield, although its less consistent up b is way more rewarding. For mythra though i use my speed as a mix up and run up on my opponent. If they try to attack as im coming towards them i dodge to get foresight and start a combo, if they block ill grab, di a couple pummels, then usually down throw to start a combo. If someone tries to attack on shield i actually find it better to rapid jab instead if going for a grab or up b
I actually started to main pyra/mythra a bit before watching this. Thx for the tip on when to use who at what moment 🙂

I've been getting better at knowing when to grab, rob and cloud have terrible range and speed + not great followups (except rob dthrow at high%) but puff f throw is great for setting up edgeguards and pretty fast

Don’t listen to Nairo lol, he’s a content creator. If you watch every top player using pythra, they use mythra and pyra in conjunction.
Leo uses pyra. Tweek uses pyra. Sparg0 used pyra. Cosmos uses pyra.
@@calivali2876 All of them only use Pyra when in advantage or ledge trapping. That used to be different early on but recently it's advantage/ledge trap only
@@Bladieblah that’s not true, and even if it was, they still don’t solo Mythra. Pyra is heavily used as well.
Advantage state, and ledge trapping happen to be huge pillars of a match
Meaning, there’s no such thing as a solo Mythra
@@calivali2876 Just rewatched Spargo Sonix at LMBM and you were right, it's not just advantage and ledge trapping, he also stays Pyra at high percents most of the time and sometimes lingers with Pyra after a ledge trap scenario. Still, Mythra was used consistently for neutral at fresh stocks, and towards the end of the set (last two games) Spargo refrained from using Pyra outside of advantage, ledge trap and high percent situations.

But she has her place, and so do pyra. My point being that they’re both used in play & solo mythra isn’t really viable (especially when you got a powerhouse right there)

Pirhana plant down b beats mythra. She wont be able to combo start the plant with anymove.
Also the plant cant be camped out since he has the dogone spike ball.

They are actually characters in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and I’m not very sure how but apparently Pyra and Mythra are both spirits of a sword named Aegis, which the main character Rex wields. That’s why instead of people saying Pyra and Mythra, they use the name of the sword

Xenoblade 2 lore thing, spoiler alert, they're the blade themselves, and it's quicker than Pyra/Mythra. Also, every character with 3 or more syllables gets a short version, it's just how it is
