They never said the aerial assault trooper and renegade raider were exclusive. They actually said it may return the item shop in the future in the original post they made about the skins release.

The old season shop stated “get exclusive skins glider and a pickaxe” the description with what you were stating was when the mako glider and the battle bus banner was in the shop idk why people keep saying renegade raider wasnt exclusive which it was. Exclusively is a tricky subject. This is what I think. Collab skins should never be locked to a battle pass. If your favorite character is Darth Vader or Indiana Jones, or Lara Croft. You should be able to get them. Put them in the item shop. Fortnite banked off exclusively and FOMO. Don't miss out. Play if you want it. Now, 7 years later, after making everyone work hard to obtain characters to use in the game and feel unique because they were there to earn it. Making them lots of money. Years later, flipping the switch, making everyone want what they couldn't have by giving it to everyone who never had them. Pissing off the players who worked. But the players who didn't work are mad that they could never have them. So everyone is mad.I believe this was their plan from the start to make even more money. I figured out how it could have been fair for everyone. Battle pass is like 10 bucks. If you worked for Omega and earned the color styles, that's yours for 10 bucks for putting in the work. You don't buy battle passes and earn. You have to pay for it in the item shop but it's more expensive than the battle and you get no styles because you didn't earn it. I think that's fair. I feel like a good small step into bringing back old battle passes is letting players finish their battle passes from past seasons they might have not completed. Maybe they didn’t finish it due to being grounded or losing their console or they just got Burnt out from Fortnite, but want to finish them still.
I hope the old battle passes come back but I want an item that says when your account was made so ogs can still show off and they keep super styles exclusive

It’s one thing if it were actual physical items that were exclusive but it’s all digital and in the long run it doesn’t really matter because it’s all code that can be made destroyed and remade.
Some people don’t understand the difference between rarity and exclusivity. Whether or not exclusivity fully ends (I genuinely hope it does), account selling will stay alive forever. There’s not just og stuff to consider. If y’all played through CH2 and CH3, you’ll remember how much cool collabs there were, and while some have came back recently (Chief, Dababy, etc.) most still haven’t. Stacked accounts from CH2 and CH3 are worth a lot of money that people would be willing to pay for, especially considering Epic won’t (or can’t) bring a lot of stuff back. If you can’t get Chun Li or Balenciaga from shop, you could just buy an account with those skins easily.
Unfortunately guys, I highly doubt Epic Games rereleases chapter 1 battle passes as this could lead to legal trouble. To rerelease them is to break the law of deceptive and misleading advertising as it was a promise that these skins were exclusive, and even a loophole such as OG returning likely couldn’t override this promise. The ethical issues of their earlier promise and the impacts of breaking truth, accuracy and good taste would also prevent this as Epic would face even heavier backlash. I could be wrong and sorry for the long comment and legal/business terms, but here’s a summary. Summary: There are loopholes to their promise, but Epic would face heavy backlash and potential legal action for breaking ethics and law, so I doubt they’d take the risk.

personally wouldn't mind if battlepasses come back like what they are doing in Halo Infinite or the MCC and the way you can choose any battlepass and complete it, I've seen some skins in previous battlepasses that are genuinely amazing, but that's just my opinion.
just to add a note, don't care about exclusivity, i enjoy fortnite, i see a skin i like, i look at my wallet, if i got the money, i buy it and i'm happy, I play fortnite because i find the game fun and that's it, that's more than enough atp.
The way they did it this season might be the way they do it for the rest of the seasons of ch1. Make a remix pass then sell the original skins in the shop but lock them behind levels relative to their placement in their original pass. So basically it would be like having to grind out a pass AND pay full price for the skins separately. I wouldn't mind if they did it that way tbh as long as i can get them somehow.
Plus you can still use the "I had it OG" line for any battle pass skin even if they re-release it. I have pandora doom and idc if they re-release him in a year or so cause I got him OG

As an og I hated the fomo, since some sessions and metas would make me quit the game for months or years on end but finding out later there was some cool sessions in between the awful ones and cool skins/emotes that were cool, and honestly with the new "og" skins they do look better especially skull commander since I never bought skull Trooper and never will since the design never hit me, as it was basic but with a cool design but still kinda like owning another black knight to me, I liked the bone armor look with the hoodie which was dope asf and I actually like using it frequently, I hope they do more ideas with that while also bring things back to give everyone a chance and even a piece og history in a way :3
First pass was never FOMO, it was locked behind a mechanic they haven't brought back since. Which to me could mean they'll use the mechanic for content like Crew Packs we're their only tangible value is associated with Crew Packs. Outside of Battlepasses and several shop skins, nothing was truly limited time, it was always dependent on when Epic would rerelease them, just tonight they brought back out the Rasputin emote. Season 2's Battlepass content returning is genuinely where they take the gloves off, and that might've been plausible for what happened when "Swim Free" was added to the shop on accident. Battlepasses SHOULD return. Many Skins, Emotes, Backblings, Pickaxes, Lobby Tracks, Contrails, and various other Knicknacks are locked from players that are newer, didn't have the money, or lost their account to things outside of their control. Allowing this stuff to be available whenever would kill TOS Breaching of account selling and wouldn't need them to implement trading. If they implement it with what little has happened this past year. We would see the old passes for a period during an OG season be locked behind an xp threshold where linearly requiring you to play the game and pay to own the specific cosmetic(Like you can get a emoticon it'd probably be like 50-100 vbucks to get it, and skins with the old rarity system would be 800-2000 vbucks), have packs unlocked that contain a set for a skin that'd be like 5k for the base bundle and a extra 2k for the bonus styles assoicated with it(my hypothesis), or just allow people to buy the pass for double the price and without Superstyles and vbucks to be earned.
If they get rid of exclusivity, good. Halo:MCC and Infinite did the right thing with their battlepasses and proved it can work with alot of people liking the system. EG will never do trading because they already have a problem with account security, so the chances of them making a trading system to give skins value between players is limited. The most likely scenario is they bring back old battlepasses and make them buyable at any point to work on, reduce the vbucks earned from each battlepass to compensate and make people spend more money on old passes and rake in the dough on people who missed certain skins they want. Yet instead of doing something logical like that, something that could make them a ton of money with minimal effort, they spend millions to acquire Fall Guys, lay off 900 employees, make a racing gamemode no one plays and a half baked minecraft clone. 💀
I don’t think they will drop older battle pass skins in the shop(only new seasons after 18 months started as of last season do that), but they might drop the level 100 skins from the older battle passes if they start shifting the og season to season two next month. Realistically they can only add one rare skin and a few cosmetics from those older seasons, Fortnite is not gonna completely take a step back and give you all the things from season 2+, why? I don’t think they will add it into the shop. But! everyone might have a chance to get a level 100 skin if Fortnite decides to re introduce it so people can earn it.

Before watching the full vid: I feel like they wouldn’t bother re releasing the season 2 bps to season 10s bps. As those were meant to be exclusive. Though I wouldn’t mind them releasing the contrails and putting those in the new pg passes. Probably not but still. To go into the og bps, as long as they make sure to do the remix skins justice, idc if the og skins come back.
I think exclusivity should be stuck to things of note, like buying into a whole gaming system or charity events. Exclusivity as it is now is a way for companies to trick you into fast money as well as successfully put the idea into your head that your exclusivity is something you should defend, take pride in, that the job of what an exclusive is should be fought by the buyers and not the company. Anyone who has the OG Renegade Raider and is fighting others about being an OG has been told by Epic that they need to be the bad guy by keeping the shoddy business practice in line and fell for the marketing. Companies aren't your friends, why do you think the shop has DAILY rotations? For YOUR benefit? Or so you spend money that day for fear of no returns? Just remember that if your argument for exclusivity is rarity, that its your prize for your time playing the game, your worth is tied to when you played a video game when other people were living their lives. Not something of actual note like spending a major amount of money on your next gen console, giving money for charity, your reputation that others give you through an in-game morality system, being an influencer, showing support through playing another game with a tie-in cosmetic, instead the arguments I hear are "I paid money on Fortnite at the time you probably didn't even know the game existed".
If they bring back battlepasses, and og skins they should give the player 100 vbucks, og edit style. And they also only give the skin so the people had it back then can have the backbling on to show proof that you were an og or the edit style
They bring out the OG pass and then they actually release the original skins, Epic Games are basically trying to get people to spend more money than usual by surprising them even more by alarmingly re-releasing the original skins, but also making them mad because they wasted their money on the OG pass when they could've instead bought the original skins, I call that an act of greed. As someone who has played since day 1 and only started buying skins when I got a job as I enjoy the game I don't care that old skins are coming back it's really not that deep and for the people who really like the old skins I'm glad more players can enjoy them finally as let's be honest the people who are gate keeping and bullying people who buy old skins are just toxic kids who still have there whole life ahead of them 😂
I think if they don’t want to make OG styles for the passes, they should keep the super styles locked to OG owners. For example, the gold and silver foils for the main C2S2 characterscan be kept to the OG, but something like DP X-force skin should be available to everyone since it’s not a super styles like the Gold foil.

I do hope they do bring them back and I know it will be trickier for passes with collabs (like C2S4, the one I want back the most) but I believe the amount of money they can make from those old passes can help with a lot of stuff and make even OG Players happy. Exclusively is a tricky subject. This is what I think. Collab skins should never be locked to a battle pass. If your favorite character is Darth Vader or Indiana Jones, or Lara Croft. You should be able to get them. Put them in the item shop. Fortnite banked off exclusively and FOMO. Don't miss out. Play if you want it. Now, 7 years later, after making everyone work hard to obtain characters to use in the game and feel unique because they were there to earn it. Making them lots of money. Years later, flipping the switch, making everyone want what they couldn't have by giving it to everyone who never had them. Pissing off the players who worked. But the players who didn't work are mad that they could never have them. So everyone is mad.I believe this was their plan from the start to make even more money. I figured out how it could have been fair for everyone. Battle pass is like 10 bucks. If you worked for Omega and earned the color styles, that's yours for 10 bucks for putting in the work. You don't buy battle passes and earn. You have to pay for it in the item shop but it's more expensive than the battle and you get no styles because you didn't earn it. I think that's fair. Does anyone agree or disagree?

I feel like a good small step into bringing back old battle passes is letting players finish their battle passes from past seasons they might have not completed. Maybe they didn’t finish it due to being grounded or losing their console or they just got Burnt out from Fortnite, but want to finish them still.
I hope the old battle passes come back but I want an item that says when your account was made so ogs can still show off and they keep super styles exclusive

It’s one thing if it were actual physical items that were exclusive but it’s all digital and in the long run it doesn’t really matter because it’s all code that can be made destroyed and remade.
Some people don’t understand the difference between rarity and exclusivity.
Whether or not exclusivity fully ends (I genuinely hope it does), account selling will stay alive forever. There’s not just og stuff to consider. If y’all played through CH2 and CH3, you’ll remember how much cool collabs there were, and while some have came back recently (Chief, Dababy, etc.) most still haven’t. Stacked accounts from CH2 and CH3 are worth a lot of money that people would be willing to pay for, especially considering Epic won’t (or can’t) bring a lot of stuff back.
If you can’t get Chun Li or Balenciaga from shop, you could just buy an account with those skins easily.

Unfortunately guys, I highly doubt Epic Games rereleases chapter 1 battle passes as this could lead to legal trouble. To rerelease them is to break the law of deceptive and misleading advertising as it was a promise that these skins were exclusive, and even a loophole such as OG returning likely couldn’t override this promise. The ethical issues of their earlier promise and the impacts of breaking truth, accuracy and good taste would also prevent this as Epic would face even heavier backlash.
I could be wrong and sorry for the long comment and legal/business terms, but here’s a summary.
Summary: There are loopholes to their promise, but Epic would face heavy backlash and potential legal action for breaking ethics and law, so I doubt they’d take the risk.
They definitely will one day and provide “OG” styles they seems to shut the community up

personally wouldn't mind if battlepasses come back like what they are doing in Halo Infinite or the MCC and the way you can choose any battlepass and complete it, I've seen some skins in previous battlepasses that are genuinely amazing, but that's just my opinion.
just to add a note, don't care about exclusivity, i enjoy fortnite, i see a skin i like, i look at my wallet, if i got the money, i buy it and i'm happy, I play fortnite because i find the game fun and that's it, that's more than enough atp.

The way they did it this season might be the way they do it for the rest of the seasons of ch1. Make a remix pass then sell the original skins in the shop but lock them behind levels relative to their placement in their original pass. So basically it would be like having to grind out a pass AND pay full price for the skins separately. I wouldn't mind if they did it that way tbh as long as i can get them somehow.
It's not fully dead until they bring back chapter 1,2,3,4, and some of the chapter 5 battle passes comeback that's when exclusively is dead

People always want things they can’t have or are expensive/rare since it gives them status.
As an og I hated the fomo, since some sessions and metas would make me quit the game for months or years on end but finding out later there was some cool sessions in between the awful ones and cool skins/emotes that were cool, and honestly with the new "og" skins they do look better especially skull commander since I never bought skull Trooper and never will since the design never hit me, as it was basic but with a cool design but still kinda like owning another black knight to me, I liked the bone armor look with the hoodie which was dope asf and I actually like using it frequently, I hope they do more ideas with that while also bring things back to give everyone a chance and even a piece og history in a way :3

First pass was never FOMO, it was locked behind a mechanic they haven't brought back since. Which to me could mean they'll use the mechanic for content like Crew Packs we're their only tangible value is associated with Crew Packs.
Outside of Battlepasses and several shop skins, nothing was truly limited time, it was always dependent on when Epic would rerelease them, just tonight they brought back out the Rasputin emote. Season 2's Battlepass content returning is genuinely where they take the gloves off, and that might've been plausible for what happened when "Swim Free" was added to the shop on accident.
Battlepasses SHOULD return. Many Skins, Emotes, Backblings, Pickaxes, Lobby Tracks, Contrails, and various other Knicknacks are locked from players that are newer, didn't have the money, or lost their account to things outside of their control. Allowing this stuff to be available whenever would kill TOS Breaching of account selling and wouldn't need them to implement trading.
If they implement it with what little has happened this past year. We would see the old passes for a period during an OG season be locked behind an xp threshold where linearly requiring you to play the game and pay to own the specific cosmetic(Like you can get a emoticon it'd probably be like 50-100 vbucks to get it, and skins with the old rarity system would be 800-2000 vbucks), have packs unlocked that contain a set for a skin that'd be like 5k for the base bundle and a extra 2k for the bonus styles assoicated with it(my hypothesis), or just allow people to buy the pass for double the price and without Superstyles and vbucks to be earned.
If they get rid of exclusivity, good. Halo:MCC and Infinite did the right thing with their battlepasses and proved it can work with alot of people liking the system. EG will never do trading because they already have a problem with account security, so the chances of them making a trading system to give skins value between players is limited. The most likely scenario is they bring back old battlepasses and make them buyable at any point to work on, reduce the vbucks earned from each battlepass to compensate and make people spend more money on old passes and rake in the dough on people who missed certain skins they want.
Yet instead of doing something logical like that, something that could make them a ton of money with minimal effort, they spend millions to acquire Fall Guys, lay off 900 employees, make a racing gamemode no one plays and a half baked minecraft clone. 💀

I don’t think they will drop older battle pass skins in the shop(only new seasons after 18 months started as of last season do that), but they might drop the level 100 skins from the older battle passes if they start shifting the og season to season two next month. Realistically they can only add one rare skin and a few cosmetics from those older seasons, Fortnite is not gonna completely take a step back and give you all the things from season 2+, why? I don’t think they will add it into the shop. But! everyone might have a chance to get a level 100 skin if Fortnite decides to re introduce it so people can earn it.

Before watching the full vid: I feel like they wouldn’t bother re releasing the season 2 bps to season 10s bps. As those were meant to be exclusive. Though I wouldn’t mind them releasing the contrails and putting those in the new pg passes. Probably not but still.

I think exclusivity should be stuck to things of note, like buying into a whole gaming system or charity events. Exclusivity as it is now is a way for companies to trick you into fast money as well as successfully put the idea into your head that your exclusivity is something you should defend, take pride in, that the job of what an exclusive is should be fought by the buyers and not the company. Anyone who has the OG Renegade Raider and is fighting others about being an OG has been told by Epic that they need to be the bad guy by keeping the shoddy business practice in line and fell for the marketing. Companies aren't your friends, why do you think the shop has DAILY rotations? For YOUR benefit? Or so you spend money that day for fear of no returns?
Just remember that if your argument for exclusivity is rarity, that its your prize for your time playing the game, your worth is tied to when you played a video game when other people were living their lives. Not something of actual note like spending a major amount of money on your next gen console, giving money for charity, your reputation that others give you through an in-game morality system, being an influencer, showing support through playing another game with a tie-in cosmetic, instead the arguments I hear are "I paid money on Fortnite at the time you probably didn't even know the game existed".
If they bring back battlepasses, and og skins they should give the player 100 vbucks, og edit style. And they also only give the skin so the people had it back then can have the backbling on to show proof that you were an og or the edit style
They bring out the OG pass and then they actually release the original skins, Epic Games are basically trying to get people to spend more money than usual by surprising them even more by alarmingly re-releasing the original skins, but also making them mad because they wasted their money on the OG pass when they could've instead bought the original skins, I call that an act of greed. Just in any case in matches you see 60% of players with tryhard skins like golfers or condoms, 20% some skins from collaborations 5% og skins (79% in new OG season) 15% other skins from battle passes
Exclusivity is just cancer for players and fans who wanted to get, for example, skins like Indiana Jones or Darth Vader from battle passes, but now they are impossible except by stealing an account and buying them for more than $ 100 (just an example). Especially someone might have wanted to get significant characters like Midas, but now his skins can simply be bought as variation skins or a remix
And so the developers did it simply, they just took the skins, changed the textures and released reskins or remixes of your boring Renegade Raider like other skins
Exclusivity needs to be removed and players should be given what they once lost or were unable to get for many reasons.

I think if they don’t want to make OG styles for the passes, they should keep the super styles locked to OG owners. For example, the gold and silver foils for the main C2S2 characterscan be kept to the OG, but something like DP X-force skin should be available to everyone since it’s not a super styles like the Gold foil.

I do hope they do bring them back and I know it will be trickier for passes with collabs (like C2S4, the one I want back the most) but I believe the amount of money they can make from those old passes can help with a lot of stuff and make even OG Players happy. Because I know from friends who are OG have told me on multiple occasions that they missed out on so many good passes because of personal situations (Like school and work) as well as the heavy hit to financial situations because of the pandemic.
I will say there is a little flaw, super styles didn't come out until chapter 2 so all chapter 1 seasons wouldn't have any exclusive style unless they make one

3:15 if you think about it, they started battle passes in chapter 1 season 2 so they had no battle pass to release, so they just remade made old skins and then rereleased the OG versions to the shop. And since chapter 1 season 2 is coming back they might make reskins since some people have the old battle passes already and then rerelease old passes in the shop!!!
