Thanks for the tour. For the longest time, I thought the song being played by the campanile was a computer until I went up and saw the organ at the top LOL.
Go Bears. I had Glenn T Seaborg as a professor. BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) graduate, 1978. Good Facts ! Did you know that Chester W Nimitz (Fleet Admiral in WWII) was the first Professor of Naval Science at Berkeley (starting the NROTC unit) when he was a Commander? He was also a regent of the university.
64 degrees in phoenix this morning! Highs today 94 but a major cool down will occur early this week with a slight chance of rain! How about highs in the 70s lows in the 50s tomorrow and Tuesday!
fun facts,: many Chinese students do use "UCB" to refer where they go or went. you can also see the Sather tower from the golden gate bridge, or the bay bridge They showed me a stone bench near VLSB when I was a freshmen that u can hear your own voice echoes talking to it. you can periodically hear people crying desperately in the dungeon of Soda hall depends on when the projects are due. most engineering departments has their own buildings, materials science gets a very beautiful one as a small department and EECS has two, whereas Nuclear engineer, Mechanical Engineering and IEOR all have to share one ugly building. Lastly, studying engineering at Cal sucks, it really sucks and it sucks so bad, but still better than going to Sandford. GO BEARS.
Love the facts!! For tours, I loved showing visitors the stone bench area outside VLSB where your voice echos. It is such a cool spot on campus, esp because many students actually don’t know about it 🤭🐻
Thank you!! For new transfer students, since you have until June 1 to accept admission, you would not get an enrollment time until after June 1. You can check your enrollment period and time at Calcentral > My academics. Enrollment period/time is randomized based on seniority of the student. I’ll be making a video in the coming weeks about Berkeley enrollment and phase 1 and phase 2, iso stay tuned for that! ☺️
Do you know what accommodations are like for students with disabilities? I'm autistic and I've heard Berkeley has a program for autistic students but I'm not sure exactly what services they provide.
Yes, Berkeley has a Disabled Students Program (DSP), where they provide many services (dsp.berkeley.edu/). It looks like you can not view all of their services unless you are currently a student, but on their website they have a phone you could call if you were curious! You may be interested in checking out the Spectrum Connect program that DSP offers (dsp.berkeley.edu/support-services/autism-spectrum-services). It's a free program where you can meet other students, get academic support, and acclimate to the college setting. Hope this helps!
Thank you for your amazing videos! I am a newly admitted students with an intended major of cog sci. I also want to double major, but I am not sure what my second major will be. I wonder the reason for u to double major in cog sci and legal study :D
Thanks for watching! Congrats on Berkeley!! 🥳🐻🎉 Definitely explore the website that lists all of the majors that Berkeley offers and then you can maybe see what is interesting and take some classes in that field! That is sort of what I did with Legal Studies! I saw the major on the College of Letters and Sciences list and thought it was interesting looking, so I signed up for 2 classes and really liked them! Since Cog Sci is more science-related, I thought legal studies would be a good double so that I could get a good mix of science and reading/writing 😄
Nope, everyone I know does not regret choosing Cal over their other college acceptances! If you are still deciding between Berkeley and UCLA, check out this panel we did over on the Study Hall College Consulting RUclips channel (ruclips.net/video/VBW1c5YFFIA/видео.html)! We had students from Berkeley and UCLA talk about different aspects of each college - you can see all the questions asked through the time stamps in the description of that video. Hopefully that helps you make a decision!! :)
hiii I have a super last minute question... I'm a freshman and I'm applying for housing which is due soon. I really want to live in Unit 1. Do I have a better chance of getting into one of the units if I pick triple instead of double? I kind of would rather live in a double than a triple but I'm not sure if applying for Unit 1 Double reduces my chance of getting into the dorm in the first place compared to Unit 1 Triple. Thanks!
Hello!! Since the housing application is based on a lottery system, I would say to put your preferred housing first. So if you really wanted a double, you could put like Unit 1 Double, Unit 2 Double, Unit 3 Double, Unit 1 Triple, any room any location, as your 5 options. Make sure you put “any room any location” as your 5th choice, so that if the random number generator gets to you once your top 4 choices are already filled, it will still give you a housing assignment. Since it is “luck” based and depends on what kinds of options other students are picking, it depends which you’d prefer more- a double or location. With the pandemic, it seems like they may be offering more doubles than usual due to health guidelines. Hope this helps! ☺️
For any freshman UC applicant, you will be notified of your admission status from the waitlist by June 1st! So technically I would presume you could hear back any time between May 1 (the national deadline to commit) and June 1! Information is from this website - admission.universityofcalifornia.edu/how-to-apply/applying-as-a-freshman/after-you-apply/admissions-decisions.html.
Hi! I am a newly admitted transfer, I am a bit confused, where should I look which classes I need to take to get a degree. My major is psychology. I would be very greatful for you, if you could help Thank you in advance!
Congrats on admission!! 🎊 Check out this site to see the classes you need to take in order to graduate with a Psychology degree - psychology.berkeley.edu/students/undergraduate-program/major-requirements. Your transfer credits will also probably allow you to “skip” some of the pre requisite courses. Hope this helps! 🐻
@@rachel_lin thank you ! Can I also ask you about Science classes. I plan to apply for Berkeley Optometry school and I need some prerequisites bio, chem, physics, ochem, so is it possible for me to be enrolled in these classes or seats are always full and impossible to get in? Thank you in advance!
@@misheltsoy7819 Yeah, that's so cool! It may take some more planning on your part in order to get the science and psychology courses that you need in order to graduate and apply for grad school. Check out this site (berkeleytime.com/enrollment) and you can search for the science classes you need to take and when they usually fill up. For science classes, they may be reserved for like Bio/Chem/Physics majors during phase 1, so you may need to wait until phase 2 in order to enroll in them. I'm planning on making a Berkeley-related class schedule video in the near future, so stay tuned for that! Hope this helps :)

Congrats Diego!! That is so awesome! Only 4 more months until august 🥳🐻
That's it, I'm sold, Cal is my dream school! (I'm a CC transfer-to-be, though I won't be applying for a while!)
Aw yaaaay!! Good luck when you are applying in the future 🙏🏻🐻 go bears 🥳
Steve Wosniak also dormed at Norton hall in Unit 3 !
Omg that’s so cool! I also lived in Norton my freshman year 😳
the play audio always makes me laugh... "the bears have won! the bears have WON!"
Hahaha right!! The announcer is so shocked and excited 🐻🪓
