I'M ALIVE!!!!
Thank god
Rerez are you sure
Hi
Yes! :) Keep it up
Is there a link to buy this system?
Maybe if they restocked some of the colors options I would buy one
Z64 just buy it is that good. I have one and I play it on a 65" 4ktv and still looks awesome. You can even apply scan lines.
Steven C I don't know, I think I'll wait a couple more months. If they still haven't restocked I guess I'll have to settle with black
Analogue said they will have the other ones back in stock sometime in May so keep an eye on their website.
May really? That's great, I thought I was going to have to wait a while.
Math Helper yeah it’s great! By all accounts it is a top quality console, just hope I can get one when they come back in stock. Keep a check on their Twitter account and/or website.
I bought this in all black (with matching controllers), an SD2SNES and two original Score Masters. Endless hours of fun, and I don't have to wear out my cartridges. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it!
I bought the black model. The 8bitdo controllers are sold separately. They are offered by Analogue, but they are not bundled for $189.99 (plus ridiculous $30 shipping). ;)
Yeha i copped the black too - but..... screw that shipping... i was like "190!!!!!!!... oh 220, well... they already have my credit.... sooo... pre order"
The price is what kills it for me. The $190 are already insane, and the wireless gamepads are a must for me. :-/ Great console, though!
I dunno, compared to other FPGA consoles of this caliber, the price was actually really good in my mind, and when I received the product, the quality was better than expected
The firmware also already has a jailbroken version out with the caveat it cannot do the "chipped games" sa-1, super fx yada yada... But since it's Fpga based, it's likely that someone may figure out how to adapt those
And I have 8-bit do controllers, and I haven't tried them on this, but I noticed a lag that was just enough to make me crazy... But I was playing on an original snes to LCD.. So any extra latency is life or death in games.. But I am not too hot on them, at least right now
I'd reccomend this 100% over and over...
I bit the bullet and got the black one as well. I had a mindset of getting the "underdog" of a color that wasn't appreciated. I don't regret it one bit. It looks great in person ;)
You can get the gamepads from 8bitdo, and the bluetooth retro receivers are only $20 on their own. I have a SF30pro and use it on my PC with a traditional dongle. You most likely have at least one android compatible gamepad in the house, and can use that with the retro reciever.
Word on the street is that REREZ is the Analogue Super NT of review channels.
Really glad to see you back!
Wrestling With Gaming but others have reviewd rhis waaaaaay before hebdi
That console is beautiful! I’m a sucker for anything transparent!
I have both the NES and SNES Classic and they are both great retro gaming options! Especially when used with Hakchi!
You may want to remove the part about the 8Bitdo controller included. It is not.
No controllers are included.
boy, that was a sad pre-order for me
He probably did not know since he didn't order one. Both the console and the controllers were sent to him so he just assume they are bundle together.
Voan Siam
And clicking on the Analogue website would have shown:
"1 8Bitdo SN30 Controller and Retro Receiver sold separately.
2 8Bitdo SN30 Controller and Retro Receiver are not manufactured, sold or distributed by Analogue, Inc."
A few seconds of research goes a long way.
@@videogameobsession That text is posted in fine print at the very bottom of the store page. They advertise pictures with the 8BitDo controller but don't say it's not included until you read the fine fine fine print. Get off your high horse with your "research"
WunderKix: No, you are wrong.
If you go to the Analogue website you will see many of the pictures of the Super NT are only showing the system itself.
The first one, which shows the controller with it, is accompanied by a large (not fine print) text which reads:
"We partnered up with 8Bitdo to offer matching controllers for the Super Nt, including a RR at discounted price. This means you can even use wireless next gen controllers on your Super Nt, too."
The key word here is *OFFER*.. It does not say *Included*. They even mention that the RR (Retro Receiver), which is needed to use a wireless controller, is "offered at a discounted price".
Anyone with a fairly good understanding of the English language should realize that they are not in fact included with the console.
Not only that, but when you go to buy the the Super NT it shows you EXACTLY what you are getting in the box. And no where does it mention the 8Bitdo controller or Retro Receiver. I don't know about you, but when I am about to spend $200 on something I read this stuff carefully.
For completeness, here's what it has listed (on the sale page)

@@ajsingh4545 Anyway I can get one?
@@ajsingh4545 why did you buy 2?
@@toceeno874 I was just kidding ... I have 0
my God, that SNES need some retro bright badly ... call Dave Murray the 8 Bit guy!
Boy Aditya yes.
Kind of embarrassing.
I always thought it was called "RetroBrite"
YESSSS
I whach the 8-bit guy
I've recently been watching so many videos on getting retro games to look better so this was really good to see. Definitely will be looking into this as a modern option for SNES.
Glad you're back, i like your videos, as most people aint reviewing hardware such as this.
Yes! I knew you would review this! So stoked!
Love how comprehensive this vid is Rerez. Thanks!
LOL. Watch Digital Foundry's review from a couple of months ago to see something that's ACTUALLY comprehensive. He actually knows his shit and tests most SNES edge cases, like Air Strike Patrol, which gives emulators hell, and even functions a little strangely on late-model official SNESes, but is perfect on the Super Nt.
watch?v=LOSQgBEf5ac
Note, however, that most of the issues he discovered have been fixed on later firmware updates, and the color accuracy has also been fixed.
Eyedunno thanks man. I’ll check digital foundry out.
You're amazing for uploading and this made me smile ☺
0:28 - ***hakchi***...ah excuse me. Allergies acting up and making me sneeze like crazy.
That's really awesome. I'm kinda sad for missing out on the retro consoles, even the PS1. My first introduction into gaming was browser flash games, Rayman on PC, then PS2 games and back to PC.
FINALLY A VIDEO!!!I knew you would make a video on this one.
I just read on their website that the system comes with a pre-loaded director's cut of Super Turrican and the original Super Turrican 2.
Great review! Nice to see another comprehensive review. Subjective, but I think this really is the best color for this console as well, despite not looking like the renderings (call the waaahmbulance for the whiners). Accurate for a 90’s product & LEDs look awesome in it
It's been a minute, Rerez. I've been missing you guys.
Yes another rerez video I always love it when I see this in my feed
Great review! I might buy one someday.
I see you playin' that Magical Drop 2. Good, good.
Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis. Before Analogue, my TV couldn't picture this.
Amazing video Shane! This makes me want it even though I don't want or need it lol
Welcome back to the land of the uploading. In all seriousness, I hear great things about these things, though I think I'll stick with my SNES with RGB cables to my Framemesiter.
Glad you're back! It is TIME
I'm definitely going to have to get one of these, I think i am in love
No offense meant, but you really need to do a bit more research before recording reviews.
1. No controllers are included with this system. They are sold separately.
2. The SDcard slot has been able to load SNES roms (no enhancement chip games yet) since February 14th. You just have to use the Jailbreak firmware.
3. You can play Satellaview Super Famicom games via a flashcart such as the SD2SNES.
4. A Digital to Analogue converter will be released by Analogue and will allow you to play the Super Nt on a CRT over analogue connections such as Svideo or YPbPr. This will in effect allow you to use devices such as the Super Scope 6.
5. Several games had broken compatibility at launch, but Kevtris has fixed just about all of them. The Super Nt is now at about a 99% compatibility with the original 2-1-3 SNES console.
I guess he needs to do more research on his reviews, they are kinda more of a first impression reviews but i get your meaning
Thanks for clarifying all these. The creator should put all these in the description or as overlay on the video.
HolaPlaneta
No problem. I agree. It's not too late for him to add this info either. I know at least one person that watched this review and was angry when he received the system without the controller.
The SD card slot on the NT or the SNES classic?
Super NT.
I would recommend a Phillips Amby Light TV if you like that matching led light concept. 😛
best review of the super NT which I saw , and you answered questions which I had . thank you Shane....🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
yay a new upload
I always liked your intro it reminds me of a console boot up lol
good review. I'll buy one when they do the update to add in roms.
How has this project held up?
This is awesome!
That thing looks pretty awesome and it's nice they charge an arm and a leg like the NES one did.
Nice smash bros refrence in the end 👌🏻
Never had the SNES I went with the Genesis during the 16-bit era. Looks very cool and liking the possibilities with this one. Was lucky to play a couple SNES games with a relative having one at the time but this looks cool to try what I missed out on.
Did you get one?
@@c00t999 no I got the SNES Mini and added more games to it getting my fix that way.
That SD slot could be utilized for translation patches for SFC games possibly
It's already been jailbroken
I don't think that'll happen. Live patching of games would require a Game Genie on steroids.
Or just get a flashcart
The Jailbreak plays all non-enhancement chip games.
As for translations. Simply apply the IPS patch to the rom before putting it on the SDcard. There is no reason to have the non-English version of an RPG, for example, on the SDcard.
The system its already jailbreak so you can put roms on your SD.
Victor Araya Yeah for like 2 months now. I don't know why rerez didn't already know that
Because he recorded this footage around the time the Super NT first released and only now found time to edit and upload. It watches kinda weird now since all the updates.
@@charvelgtrs well that doesn't show as weird whatsoever, more so lazy and disingenuous, considering that its had a bunch of updates that he doesn't even *know* about...
Great video! I was legitimately worried about you, not trying to be weird. Ever get your hands on the Retro Fighter controller for N64?
Once ROM support is done through the SD Card Slot, I'm sure people would love to use this for Metroid and Zelda randomizers
*Ahem*
github.com/SmokeMonsterPacks/Super-NT-Jailbreak/
barry bee benson
Kind of, it doesn't support special chip games. So no FX games, at least yet.
So get an SD2SNES, it has that support now
That's pretty cool, do you know if theres an option in the settings that lets you overclock the cpu?
My mom is gonna love this
There already is Jailbroken firmware available now. You can play ROMs off the SD Card and you can dump your own cartridge ROMs and saves to the SD card.
That yellow SNES was well loved
You can already play SNES ROMs from SD. They released the Jailbreak on 2/14, exactly 1 week after the system launched (and 1 day after I finally received my pre-ordered unit).
I saw someone review a similar cartridge console but it could take 4 - 5 different types of cartridges for nintendo and sega consoles, it looked awesome it even had a hd tv converter
Its the Retron 5! Saw a clip in this vid 😂
Missed you dude
My body is ready
Welcome back to regular videos
I want 1 now
Am I to assume that since it can run SNES cartridges without issue it can also handle an Everdrive?
The Renegadist yes
Does anyone else have an issue removing the cartridges? On my super nt they are held on really tight, and I always feel like I’m going to break it with the amount of force I need to removed the cartridge
I am a super Nintendo fan, that was my first console and I never looked back I have so many HD clones of SNES from each companies. Gamerztek was by far the best in my opinion but it's all about budget systems. If you got the extra money to spend for the best of the best. Well this is the way to go. I'm gonna get one. And fast too cause I have a feeling they won't be around too long.
2:11 - "but just don't do that and you should be fine"
Rerez pandemic tips
Awesome
Information correction: the 8bitdo Controllers are NOT included with the Super NT and are sold separately.
It would've been good if you specifically addressed whether or not it has a "ripping" phase when it reads the cartridge, or if it's just instant-start like the real hardware. You didn't mention it so I have to assume it's instant-start, but in this day and age with all the terrible retro consoles it would've been nice to mention it specifically.
I'm sold. That's fucking sweet!
To clarify a few points missed or that are slightly incorrect.
1. It doesn't come bundled with a controller. They are bought separately from 8bitdo.
2. The official jailbreak firmware has been out for a while, that allows you to play roms via the SD card slot as well as create ROMs and saves from your cartridges (I've made a guide for this on my channel).
3. Analogue have said they are going to make an DAC adaptor for it to support RGB, Component, S-Video, Composite and analogue audio.
Can the led in the system be set to just 1 colour? Cos I don't like a flashing light distracting me...
really wish they made a Analogue Super Sg or something like that for the genesis/megadrive
were is the link to buy the thing?
Long live Rerez!
Great video but one correction the controller does not come bundled with it.
Why would the TV used have any effect on the Super Scope? The SS does not interact with the TV in any way... It interacts with the attachment that you plug into the controller port, that's why there was a calibration menu for every game that used the SS. The only effect most TV's would have, would be whether it was deep enough to put the attachment on top, or whether you would need to put it at the bottom of the screen.
Anytime I see the channel name I think it says PEREZ instead of REREZ
One of the biggest points you missed with this system is how it emulates a snes. It is emulating on a hardware level, not software. I believe this is how they are achieving the success rate with compatibility. This thing IS a modern snes with a proper HD output.
Not saying anything you said was incorrect (except for the included controller apparently), I’m just pointing out the major difference this and any of the clones out there.
Nice vid I'd like to get that
I hope they will make a update that will allow you to add or make mods
If they make a N64 version oh boy that's shit would get me hyped up!
I want to get a case for my Analogue Super NT. Can someone recommend a good case? I tried to find one on Amazon, the ones I found are to big or to small.
Console looks amazing! Too bad it's so darn expensive, especially with the added shipping to Canada.
I want it!
Nice video
If get the Nes skinned one because it looks cool
Does the snes mouse work on it?
Wait wait wait, the translucent wireless gamepad has a black receiver, not a translucent one?!
Can converters work?
Nice
Do they still sell these?
Also, can you use a Game Genie on them?
Is this system capable of running an SD2SNES cart with all the ROMs and MSU-1 Soundtracks in them properly, or does it cause problems when it happens?
runs them with no problems so far
Great review, but who said you can't add games to the SNES mini?
Hey!! Cool video!! Where I can buy one please???
If this can run later rooms it can be amazing!!!!
I think every RUclips channel has already reviewed this.
The Super Scope requires a CRT...it works by reading the CRT scanlines, which modern displays don't have. You can hook one up and it will try to work but it will think it's not pointed at the screen. There are a couple...really complicated hacks out there involving both custom hardware and software to make it work, but not really worth it IMO. Nintendo solved the "light gun on modern displays" issue with the Wii remote. That's all that thing is, a light gun replacement for a modern display, that they proceeded to then shove into all games even when it wasn't appropriate.
The transparent ones looks like console that you'll find inside the prison
There is jailbreak fiirmware that gives you basic support for roms off the sdcard.
FPGA based so the possibilities are massive mega drive compatibility might be possible
I saw in the video, that SNES console could have purple and curved buttons on controller. I saw some on the internet, but how I remember, I had only colored buttons... Also my SNES Classic/Mini have colored buttons (and StarFox 2, what is kinda cool you know) but the purple one looks better for me... I already bought (not at all, it was gift from my parents, but hey) SNES Classic with colored buttons, so that is kinda sad for me...
Anyways, I just want ask, that I heard (find out) somewhere, that was only in America, is it right?
Wow he didn't have any problems with it!
You put up a yellowed Snes lol
i wish there were an easy way to replace to batteries on snes cartridges.
This with an SD2SNES (which now supports Super FX games), perfection.
the_randomizer that's my setup. And yes it is perfection
So much better than having to switch out carts over and over.
My setup too 😎
ive seen the retro freak in thr background of your videos will there be a review ? itd be pretty neet
If this system has more processing power than the original SNES/SFC, then I would like to see an update that can allow adjustment of the CPU speed, as well as the ability to run games like StarFox using only the system, and not the SuperFX Chip. This would allow SuperFX games to be lagless and run beautifully.
SD2SNES has a new beta firmware that allows Super FX games to run AND it has an option for fast clock speed. But it's not as good as you think. Yeah, things look somewhat smoother, but the actual game speed is increased as well, but the music and sound effects are not, so it causes some odd issues with sound timing.
And here is the problem with running Super FX games on the Super Nt: The FPGA only has a limited number of gates, and I do not know if that is enough to replicate the SNES's logic AND the GSU (Super FX) at the same time. I imagine the FPGA wasn't chosen with that in mind, and I honestly wouldn't count on it.
Sucks that they discontinued the transparent version and every other color version is out of stock currently
