“Wars” Lyrics:
How does it feel
To lie alone in your bed
When you know this is forever?
Low like the sun
Come down and break into two
And I know we'll burn together
Yeah, I love you on the weekends
But I'm careless and I'm wicked
Yeah, I love you on the weekends
It's a cruel war
I still have pieces of you stuck on me
Pieces of you stuck on me
Yeah, I love you on the weekends
It's a cruel war
Cold, but you glow
Like the streets of Tokyo
It's alright, we can stay
Lost here forever
Sinking stones, we don't know
What lies on the riverbed
So we fall, no control
No, this can't be over yet
Yeah, I love you on the weekends
But I'm careless and I'm wicked
Yeah, I love you on the weekends
It's a cruel war
I still have pieces of you stuck on me
Pieces of you stuck on me
Yeah, I love you on the weekends
It's a cruel war
(That's how it's supposed to be)
We try to laugh about it like it's okay
(That's how it's supposed to be)
We try to laugh about it like it's okay
It's heavy, is that how it's supposed to be?
Yeah, I love you on the weekends (Love you on the weekends)
But I'm careless and I'm wicked (Careless and I'm wicked)
Yeah, I love you on the weekends
It's a cruel war
I still have pieces of you stuck on me (Love you on the weekends)
Pieces of you stuck on me (Careless and I'm wicked)
Yeah, I love you on the weekends
It's a cruel war

I love Nanna’s voice by its cool to hear Raggi’s voice as the main voice in a song! Honestly both voices are so beautiful you can’t go wrong 😍
Just a song? sorry, but one of the reasons I am not really into this album is because Raggi has so many solo songs, like half of the album are songs from him. I prefer Nanna's voice all the way
yes
Right! He hasn't been on enough songs lately.
@@halcyon-ar that's just false ! Raggi is a the main singer on Wars and Stuck in gravity. For Under A Dome, Vulture vulture, Sleepwalker and Ahay they are really together, and for the other songs Nanna is the main singer (so 5 songs) I don't find Raggi's presence as excessive...
@@felkhaos-lepaysdeslivresex9135 In all the songs you say they "share", Raggi is the main singer
I feel personally attacked for being alone in my bed
Me too.
Whoa you have a bed?
person same 🤷🏻♀️😆
thanks for making me laugh out loud and now people are staring.
Not I.
Though I am careless and wicked.
I clicked on this video the moment I saw it. Every song they make is magic.
Yes.. They are wonderful..
Their brilliant 😅😅
I agree
Ellie Hemph so true! 🙌🏽
I agree
They've been staring at a lot of lava lamps recently?
Lava lamps and bath bombs
😂😂
It's fever dreaming
Last time the lyric videos were people wearing all black lip syncing. It was pure human emotions.
This time it's this. Visualisers. Asmr.
I figure they just put a camera upside down in a cup of water and then dripped a bunch of paint into the water
There’s just something that sets OMAM apart from other bands. The abstract lyrics just make everything so wonderful.
If you like abstract lyrics, Two Door Cinema Club is awesome for that
It's kinda like old Owl City...
I'm still waiting for this collab to happen.
Parth Patel I fucking LOVE two door!!!
digits............................
Joanna Mysluk OwlCity disbanded a while ago unfortunately
That's what I'm talking about. OMAM IS BACK LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. 💛
Favourite song so far. So GOOD.
They never left there just took a break to make this new music and omg I'm so hyped for this album drop not sure when it will come out in the uk but I hope its soon 😁
My favorite song by them is king and lionheart
I will always love this band and everything they write. I will always love this fan base and all their kindness and love. Live on forever❤
I was just going to go to bed but then I saw this.
Literally me
12:40am Sunday night.
who’s hyped for more omam music?✋🏼
I was so excited. But to be honest, a bit disappointed in the pop style/mainstream that they went with for the album
@@ruwahncoetzee6190 It's GOOD, but it's not 'Beneath the Skin / My Head is an Animal' level of awesome.
I want the original style back.
You guys really can’t make bad music, the talent 😭👏🏻
honestly y'all... every band evolves over time, it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone ?? if you prefer their old stuff, go listen to it, don't complain about the new album 😂 it's that easy. OMAM creates art how they feel like it. there are so many bands out there that have several albums and each of them have a different vibe. they're still the same band, this album just has a different vibe than the previous ones... let them evolve. their old music has not gone anywhere.
💯 exactly!
The Glass Animals has come a long way
Agreed!
I think deciding to switch to pure pop the second that rock and folk stopped being marketable is kind of sleazy though.
no matter what, Of Monsters of Men never stops to amaze me. every one of their songs is absolutely amazing!
One of the best Alt/Indie bands ever!!!
I think previous two albums was Indie, now it sounds like a POP
@@unixoid33 Indie pop really, but its still wore than the previous albums, I think personally.
@@unixoid33 yeah this song does sound pop
@@unixoid33 More like pop-rock. It's kinda like Midsummer Station. The community's reaction is identical.
Daughter says HI
I ordered a OMAM shirt a few weeks ago and I'm so excited! I will wear it proudly. You guys deserve so much praise, both OMAM and the fans❤
"Wars" debuted on the New Alternative 40 Chart this week!
Beautiful!!
I think its about someone who starts to realize that he really miss this special person.
"I love you on the weekends."
Because that's the moment when he feels more the loneliness.
"but i'm careless and i'm wicked"
He has too much 'pride' to just go after this person.
"it's a cruel war"
Because of the 'war inside him': his emotions are telling what he is trying to deny.
"I still have pieces of you stuck on me."
He misses all the little things about this person.
"We try to laugh about it, like it's ok. It's heavy. Is that how is supposed to be?"
He has not get over her/him. It's heavy. Now, he is accepting it and taking the first step to not losing this person.
For me, it sounds like a vice. Alcohol.
For me it is our way of living. Work and work, there's no time for love.
Reminds me of my son's mother that decided to leave , I still have pieces of her stuck on me.
What a pity that OMAM has lost its Scandinavian and mythical sound.
I really miss that. Now it’s okay I guess, but it sounds like any other pop music, at least for me.
I agree, I'm pretty upset about it.
This entire album is so... Boring
Now everyone, let's wait for the release of the rest of the songs beforehand, ok? I'm still hoping that we'll get at least one song that will remind us of their "Folk/indie" kind of songs.
I like that they're trying new things and trying to appease to more people, more audience, but I hope they'll never forget their roots, and the reason people really loved their old album.
@@Ruffgi I got news for ya... the rest of the album is pretty much like this. They're still great songs, don't get me wrong, but they've definitely moved on. Hell, even Nana has moved on from her old personality.
@@lupusmalum6103 Oh... Well, I guess I'll have to stick with their old album.
Honestly, Now I'm pretty sad.
You guys are the best underrated band of all time really
what? it's the typical pop-music for radio. they're not what they used to be. tbh, i'm disappointed
@@leeselal That's true
@@leeselal 100% agree
leeselal Completely agree. These new songs are good, but I feel like they’ve lost the unique sound they had in their first two albums.
Multi platinum and internationally recognized and you say they're underrated? Their second album is a rehash of the first and this one sounds more interesting, hope it delivers. I like the band but come on now, did people forget what underrated means?
I like these new songs but I prefer the songs like dirty paws (I’m still a big fan)
Who else agrees
I'm loving winter sounds
fuck u close-mind dude
@@muscatbw3265 Nah, dude, i personally am excited for the changes, but not everyone feels the same way immediately. It takes time. Let people take their time and enjoy it as much as they want to. Good day/night whatever it is for you c:
I miss the nordic feel too, but this ones sound really amazing too tbh
Same tbh, I miss the nordic/folky aesthetic they had going on with songs like Wolves Without Teeth and stuff. Once Alligator came out I kinda fell off the omam wagon because it just didn't feel the same to me anymore.
I just Can't help that feeling that all your songs make me feel, this is amazing! No... I have no words to describe how great you are 💮❤️
I've been a fan since Little Talks and they still manage to make me feel more emotions than any other artist or band out there... Viva la OMAM!👌❤
Was literally about to go listen to Wild Roses again! I love you guys so much!
sAME, THO
I had the same thought literally as I was clicking on this video. Excellent song! Then again, so many of theirs are.
This comes out as i'm watching another OMAM song. Great timing!
é incrivel como eu cresci ouvindo eles e todas as vezes que meu gosto musical mudava eles mudavam mas sem perder a exssencia da musica deles
where is REAL Of Monsters and Men? what happend?
It feels like they have sold out and lost their charm by trying to be too mainstream.
@@jamesrobins252 where is that Nanana vocal? now they sound like 1000 others bands
@@golinskyy exactly. At this point it feels like an entirely new band. They just sound like any generic pop band, there's nothing setting them apart anymore.
Estoy muy orgullosa de esta banday de todo lo que nos hicieron esperar, LOS AMOOO, saludos desde México 🇲🇽
what kind of colors do they use to create these effects?? they're amazing! :D
It looks like they filmed oil based paints upside down from under a water surface and used some sort of emulsifier to make it break the surface like that.
I still have pieces of you stuck in me ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ another masterpiece
THIS ALBUM IS FANTASTIC. THANK YOU. 🖤❤️
i may not be first but i clicked on this video fast
Amazing band and great song
OMG OMG OMG!!!! It's beautiful, you guys made us wait 4 years and it was worth the wait!!!
NEVER CLICKED SO FAST ON A OMAM VIDEO
Perfect weekend song
One of my favourite bands ever writing again! I’m so excited to listen to the rest of the album 💖
Couldn't click fast enough!
Edit: Everything just dropped!! Today is the day!
This change in style is resulting in more awesome music from this great band. No doubt I still love them
I'm sorry but I cant pretend like this is as good as their older stuff...this is so generic
Agreed. It doesn't have the same special feel as some of their older songs, (King And Lionheart, Dirty Paws, Empire, Six Weeks, etc etc).
I am really disappointed :(
..they changed their music dramatically over the past 7 years. This is a good song, I think, but it is not the “old” OMAM sound we’re used to.
not as many different instruments were orchestrated together in this entire album, overall I think the album is decent but not amazing like beneath the skin or my head is an animal
@@thornspike4684 I just typed a comment like this. It's good, but definitely a step down
yeah, i cant find the uniqueness anymore. i mean, it's good, but that's it
I feel kinda relieved for not being the only one who thinks this way. I liked aligator, but omam conquered me by their "folk" style
Naw stop being stuck in the past everyone band chances their style eventually this a breath of fresh air it's very altalternative and upbeat but still Omam through and through.
Uma perfeição de banda ❣️
These videos with this paint or something they always bug my mind trying to understans the process
And thats fine because as I watch it ming bogled can take time to fall in love with the songs too
Water-ballet
Lool him up on insta
I've been waiting for this for quite some time now and I LOVE IT!!!
So... Now OMaM decided they are new CHVRCHES? I am disappointed. They had their own unique style and heartwarming lyrics that was speaking to the darkest depths of me I didn't know I had before... And now... I know nobody will agree with me. But this is just bland pop.
You're not alone. But I'm still hoping to get a song that'll stand near "King and Lionheart", "Hungry" and etc.
So far, I only got " Alligator", and it is only the acoustic version.
"How does it feel to lie alone in your bed when you know this is forever?" Basically during this time now...
Brasileiros marcando presença! 💚💛 Melhor banda 😍
@john constantine 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
OMAM always steps up their game with every single song released
While I like it
Every song on this album is a step down from previous works in... All aspects
Simple lyrics
Missing that "Nordic" vibe
Simple lyrics
Sounds good, but also a bit boring in comparison to Beneath The Skin / My Head Is An Animal
I'm in love with this band! Your music is amazing! Everything you do is art, really, I live all of your songs. I need to hear the entire album, I'm sure it'll be amazing.
One of my all time favorite songs...full of musical sinew, breadth, energy, vision and zeal
Just heard this in Wendy's
Amazing as always! You guys are so good!
I really love this version of you guys!
Always waiting for your beautiful music🎤🎼🎹🎶
i wanna know how they filmed this video
Acordar já ouvindo uma música dessas, que coisa boa 😍🇧🇷
The changes are amazing, OMAM used to be my fav band, and still is! I love folk style but i love this style as well!
This song is so good I didn't even realize it was Of Monsters and Men
Love the last few singles
Gotta say, not the sound I expected from OMAM, but this absolutely slaps nonetheless. Awesome job, I love you guys!!! 👍👍
SCREE! Yessssssss love you guys
I rember when I got to see the band In Florida at 97x next big thing. The band rocks and best of luck to you
ANOTHER ONE!
congratulations you clicked on read more!
Like if you LOVE OMAM
Gotta love this album, you guys really got this genre even tho it's not what you are used to 😍
They are naturals!
Every single song they release is stunning! Can't wait for the new album!
Even with the new style they just can't make bad music!! I love them!!
I had thought the tune was about divorce and visiting his child on the weekend. I was wring.
But, it's an incredibly smooth song and the most artistic video in awhile. It's up there with Peter Gabriel and Tame Impala. Iceland can make sweet music. Who knew?
Shocking the song was about hooking up with a mistress. Still love this band. Smooth video, very artistic and and innovative.
I like these new songs, but I really have the feeling that it sounds like average pop songs.
OMAM used to have a unique style; their songs were always full of magic.... I just don't feel the same with this new album.
me too these new songs just do not have the same type of feeling
This song in particular sounds like Get Lucky, or it's just me?
They wanted to try in this new album differents sounds that the ones that we were used to, they knew many ppl won't like it but they said they wanted to do something new that represent them equal as a band without using their "old style"; you can read all about it in their interview for billboard magazine
@@frederickfarias322 If they want to try something new it's perfect for me, but this is an average electro-pop song...
@@judycr Another great song!
Cool pop song, but made by OMAM? Makes me sad they dont dive into they own mythology around the creatures of first album. It is that make me love OMAM, so different from other bands, but now... its so pop ;(
I ... don't really like it all that much to be honest. This sounds like the classic summer hits that are released in thousands. I don't feel that unique Of Monsters and Men sound that i fell in love with :(
The corporations got them.
I'm still trying to get used to their new music style.
Me too.
Same here, tryna find an excuse for pop for once
@@leor6827 lol, sadly, I don't think that I'll stick to it.
I'll just listen to their old albums
@@Ruffgi But the lyrics are still good tho
I was just gunna say I miss mountain sound...they sound like another band...its not bad but its not why I fell in love I've with them
Bless the God who made me open RUclips to watch this beautiful song
I LOVE Y'ALL SOOOOOO MUCH!!!💛💙💜💚❤
It's always great to see Raggi take the lead. Bravo!
Hrm...
I like it, don't get me wrong
But so far this album feels like a big step down from the last album. The songs feel almost simplified lyrically, and even in presentation.
Still good, but hopefully what I haven't heard yet is an improvement
Vulture, Vulture was great.
Other than that the rest of the album is, well good. Just not OMAM good.
I agree. Also, try Alligator, but the acoustic version.
Maybe you'll like it.
I feel like OMAM has lost their unique sound that they had in their first two albums. These new songs sound more like American pop music than their Indie/Scandinavian sound that they used to have.
While these new songs are good, I think that they are no where near the level of the first two albums.
Totally agree... they replace the trumpet, tamborine and hey! and now they sound digital, full of synths.... No more duets and organic sound.
@@latidoazul1006 Yeah, I miss real sounds. I'm not a fan of synthesizers
I like bands that experiment with sounds. Queen did it, Muse do it, it's fine, never get bored
If only American pop music was this level.
I love this, but I'm really hoping for more of their beautiful imagery in their lyrics and melodies that their last albums conveyed.
Agreed! I feel like the prior albums had more memorable songs; each one had its own unique quality. So far, at least to me, the new songs are seeming a bit repetitive and not really memorable. Feel free to prove me wrong ahah just my opinion
A SERVE
This is SO good--
We're up all night 'til the sun
We're up all night to get some
We're up all night for good fun
We're up all night to get lucky
So, this band has been one of my top 2 favorite bands since high school. I’m now on my 4th year of college and their songs have helped me through so many difficulties. I have been in a slump lately, but recently went to Japan and going there has been like reaching the light at the end of a dark tunnel. I recently returned from Japan, and then this song with its line “Cold but you glow, like the streets of Tokyo” comes out. And how beautiful the streets of Tokyo were. Clean, cold, reflective of the neon signs lights. This song is just another sign to me, that I will go back to Japan. And that comforts me.
I like the new style they're going for but at the same time I'm honestly not the biggest fan of the fever dream album. Maybe I'm just being stubborn towards the change, but I defenitly prefer their more Nordic-like songs like Dirty Paws or Winter Sound.
Agreed! I feel like their prior albums were a bit more memorable, like every song had a quality that made it unique. The new songs, at lest to me, feel a bit repetitive and not very special.
Absolutely Sublime 🙌
Every frame of this video its a wallpaper
This video reminds me of those crystals you could grow in a lil aquarium. Anyone remember?
Please come to Brazil 🇧🇷🔥
So far missing the charm of what I loved about this band. Hope to find something of it in this new album.
I think Alligator is pretty cool, but thats pretty much it
@@usmcbf3090 Yes , I liked Alligator, but only the acoustic version. I just wish it was complete though.
Moses06
Completely agree. These songs are good, but they’re not up to the standard of the first two albums.
They have definitely strayed away from their old "folk-ish"(?) style that MHIAA had. They seem to have taken their Beneath The Skin style and added a bit more to it. Which is fine but it's not the same. Still love it though.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY SONG TODAY! 🎶🔥 2024! 🔊
I can't say it enough, I love this band so much!!!
This sounds like something would be released in 2015 but not by OMAM
No kidding. I agree with you there.
"get lucky" song
Quando eu penso que ia viciar só em Alligator 😍
Love OMAM...but this song is just kinda boring.
When the notification popped up on my phone: 🤩
This sounds like that one daft punk song but without the electric guitar
I clicked off of YLYL to watch this masterpiece.
How was this video made??? is there anything else out there like this?
I hated this new pop style
Just like the lingering relationship talked about in the song, the visuals themselves are disgusting yet oh-so irresistible.
I started to listen you guys since little talks. Now you do this. Is amazing
Bass line on the verse pretty similar to Daft Punk's Get Lucky. Wonder if this was intentional sampling by OMAM
It's the same chord progression and bpm, essentially. So they sound pretty similar with those things alone.
I don't think there'd be a sampling deal unless they actually took part of the studio recording in Get Lucky... or played a unique instrumental there (like a bass line) to a 't'.
This masterpiece should be in FIFA 20
A song from a band that has sold out on a game from a company that has sold out. A perfect combination.
