  • Welcome to part 7 showing the restoration of my 1960 Morris Mini Minor. This shows the restoration of the car completed. I slaved away on her for over two years. She will shortly be hitting the road and attend classic car shows next Summer! Enjoy!

Oh my God! Your Mini is FANTASTIC! That engine is a thing of pure beauty. The body paint looks fictionless! Wow! Really, REALLY, well done.

I am speachless,, the car is fantastic.. I want to thankyou for letting me have a glimpse into history .. It would not have been possible for me living in Pakistan to have such an experience without this video... My father imported a Cherry Red Mini Minor Saloon 850 in 1961. The car is still with us and I am refurbushing it myself. It is a dufficult task as parts are not available in Pakistan but you have put up a standard which I would like to follow... Thanks a lot

    Hi John,
The car looks brilliant. A real credit to you. So many restorations get half way and stop so its good to see you making it to the end with such a great result. I am in the market for a mini at the moment. Planing on having a bit of a project. This video is the motivation I need.
    Cheers

Very nice job! Interestingly, I have an electronic ignition in my 68 and still has problems when wet exactly as it did with the original points...very frustrating. Maybe a hairline crack in the distributor cap?

just love your viseos and think you did a thorough job and can see you love the whole mini experience. I owned 3 or 4 in my day and now I own an Austin 110 nigh on new which was only on the road 5 years and the bodywork is sound. the spare was never out of the boot. I have a question that interested me. You made ref to the electronic module in place of points. Is it hard to fit and where can it be got? Thanks for posting. Loved it. Mervyn

I've been following this for a while now and I have to say you've made a lovely Mini! Great job for getting this Mini in this state!
Did you install the electric ignition yourself or did you outsource that? Which brand/type has been installed?

Truly amazing work, but i get a bit confused. You didn't rust protect the underside, since it was mostly driven to and from shows, and never in the rain. Yet, you chose to replace the ignition with an electronic one and planned to replace the original headlights. Personally I prefer modified cars, and my dream mini would be an older s restored body, with modern engine/drivetrain and electrics. But, agian. A very impressive job!
