About Us:
We are a homeschool and homesteading family currently building on our new 20 acre homestead in North Idaho. We garden, seed save, raise rabbits, raise chickens, process our own meat, save our own seed, can, bake, and do just about everything that we can ourselves to achieve a self sufficient and debt free life for our family.
Such a beautiful family. I’ve noticed since leaving the police force. I can see how the stress has left your face and how happy it shines as your share this wonderful experience with your family 😊. What a GREAT day in the woods and along the river. Reminds me of my days as a kid in Washington State camping, hiking, fishing, walking the glacier of Mt. Rainier, foraging for blueberry's on Mt. Adams ton's of fun. There was only 8 of us kid's to tag along with mom and dad and it was GREAT memories, and yup we always had to take two cars lolol. Your children will remember these memories years from now too. God's blessings.

Never been to Idaho and I've always thought it was more like a high desert kind of place....wrong....it is such a beautiful area....North Idaho looks even better than BC! Jeremy lovingly treats his wife like only real men do.....but then, Melissa is an awesome wife!

WOW, I AM SO HAPPY I DISCOVERED YOUR CHANNEL THRU "Keeping it Dutch's Channel! Your a WONDERFUL FAMILY & I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS, VERY EDUCATONAL & BEAUTIFUL SITES TO SEE. My Cousins, Elisa & Phil bought their 1st home in CA then moved to Coure D'Alene Idaho which changed its City name to, Dalton Gardens. Their 1 and only daughter played piano & sang also. They built their dream home in Idaho, had the perfect white home with a picket fence all around, porch & IT was a beautiful HOME! They had a large vegetable garden & Phil loved to fish, had a fishing boat & they hiked as a family too! They lived there until their daughter went off to college & to travel to Italy (she is part Italian) I think my cousins ended up selling their beautiful home due to the home being too big for the 2 of them & THEY missed the Beach in CA. My cousin husband, Phil, before he married my cousin Elisa actually lived on his very own beautiful medium size sail boat with cherry wood inside ( it was a beautiful home for when he was a bachelor) so now they moved to Cayous, CA right by the beach in a beautiful trailer home & neighborhood. It's picture perfect has 2 guest rooms, Since their only daughter is happily married & lives in Washington State but I forget where? Anyway, that's where my cousins journey ended, but she still travels & she's originally from West Virginia & her 90 year old 100% Italian father comes & visits them in CA to get away from the cold winters & he loves CA where Elisa & Phil still go camping, hiking & LOVE to travel! I'd say they are like you, living their Best Life ever! Only I'm like Melissa, & am married with 4 grown up sons. 44, 39, 36 & in December 34 years old. I'm 61 years young & retired & my husband & I met in high school & had our 1st son when I was 17 years old like you too Melissa. We've been together since & LOVE family life. I admire what you & your husband did & WOW YOUR POLE BARN IS BEAUTIFUL & WHAT HARD WORKERS YOU ARE! GOD BLESS YOU & MANY LOVE & PRAYERS TO YOU ALL. You have been given such a great gift from God & now your living in a PARADISE! I love Idaho, it's stunning!! P.S. Your daughter has such a beautiful powerful voice. Just discovered you all! Out standing spot you have. A suggestion for you, Paint the floor up top before you load it up with stuff. With a really good heavy deck paint. It will last a lot longer and be more sealed/weatherproof, and smoother to move things around on. And get you a table saw! LOL! Bless you all. What a dream you now have!

When we did a building in our barn like you are doing ours was taller than normal so we had, like you, a few inches to close in but what we did was push our OSB all the way to the top and all the way to the bottom so that left our gap in the middle but that made it easier to fill in because it was not at the end of a wall. It really worked well by filling in the little section in the middle by not having to climb so high on the ladder. Just a note to anyone else that might be planning on building this same situation.

Have you thought about putting a chain (or other) hoist in to help with putting items onto & off of your loft? I know you said stairs, but hoists are great for large/heavy/uwkward things. Attach to one of your rafter beams. If used regularly, put 2x2 or 2x4's on you OSB as slide rails to reduce wear & noise.

Gorgeous, Breath-taking. You have your own ['Great Smoky Mountains'. Beautiful river & the falls. WOW. I would have to think twice on the bridge though. LOL You had the perfect time & place for a hike that had an ice cream place. The rain even held off until you finished. Great !!
Use a tarp or netting (hay bag) and attach a rope. You can use it to raise stuff up to storage instead of using a ladder.
We took our kids hiking last week in NC mountains... it was a fun day with the kiddos!!

Wow, your dog is a Shar Pei. They are related to Chow Chows which we have. Melissa and Jeremy we are definately neighbors now that I watch more of your youtubes. In the winter drive over to Quinn's Hot Springs Resort in Montana. The kids will love to go in the snow seasons and sit in the hot springs. Its a pretty drive for you also.
