Kind of a spoiler, in case you haven't caught up with the show: In Season 2 Episode 1 it is hinted that Astolas only talks dirty to Blitzo because he thinks Blitzo likes it.
The episode that solidified Bryce Pinkham as THE definitive Stolas after a slightly controversial start in Episode 1! This is one of the best episodes of the series, and I can't wait to see Elijah's reaction to this!
Is no one gonna talk about Stolas just chilling and singing to his daughter while that star goes supernova? *Quite a beautiful scene, I might add.* Love how Octavia is so cared for by her dad, Stolas’s an awesome character in this show, even how his life is collapsing around him he still cares for his daughter above everything.
This is the point where the series goes from a funny but crass adult show into something that is truly special and good. It completely reintroduces you to Stolas through his relationship to his daughter, the one person he loves more than Blitz and whom he would move Hell and Earth for.

This episode definitely gave a me "I did not consent to these feels" moment when I first saw it. It totally caught me off guard with how touching it was. Vivziepop could've done whatever you wanted and you decided to create a master piece. Well done. I can't wait for more.
Totally with you! Episode 1 is exactly what you expect from this show as set up by the pilot. Weird, crude, violent, and very funny. This episode though? This is where it became something truly special.
This episode was when I Knew this was going to be a good show, the pilot and episode one were enjoyable, but this one really solidified me as a fan and it’s probably the one I watch the most out of all of season one, well until the first half of the finale that is, “you will be okay” is just pure gold.
I have a theory that Stolas is more tragic than the mere arranged marriage and emotional abuse the fandom focuses on, and since his family specializes in prophecies and such he's prophesized to be present for the last day and thus knows when he will die. A further reason why he's always been so willing to go along with fate/his families wishes so far.
It also makes sense as to why Stolas' concern for his public image is very superficial. So long as nothing gets him abdicated or worse cost him his life, he'll roll with it as there will be a point where it really wouldn't matter anymore.
Stolas can be a pervert owl, but not a negligent dad, well, more or less, he can do everything for Octavia 😊, he even took her to see a planetary system exploding with his lullaby, with more episodes you can see he is from far one of the best characters in Helluva Boss
Stolas & Octavia's dynamic reminds me a lot of Dr. Doofenshmirtz's relationship with his daughter Vanessa from *Phineas and Ferb* Doof is the best cartoon dad - Fight me
Your comment was completely unexpected, and by unexpected I mean TOTALLY EXPECTED!! ;) Definitely seeing a little similarity here, both Doof and Stolas would do anything for their daughters…
The Robo-Fizz is kinda funny. The song is good too and so is how Blitz dealt with him Also, Moxie dealing with that carnie while trying to get a "thing" for Millie is relatable (Earth or Hell, Carnival games are rigged)
It still gives me chills the fact that Stolas casually shows his Via a dying solar system and sings her a lullaby to put her to sleep. I can’t put into words how much I love how it shows that even when she was little, she was his whole world.
"I think you like him Blitzø secretly, but I think you hate that you like him" foreshadowed it's not that he hates he likes him it's that he can't find himself in love with him because Stolas would 'never love an imp' 😭
While her appearances in the show are not frequent, and without spoiling her roles in the future, Octavia definitely has become one of my favorite characters in the show.

Fun Fact: Alex Brightman, the voice of the robot clown in this episode, voiced Pugsley in Paranormal Park. He also played the title character in Beetlejuice the Musical. I'd recommend giving the soundtrack a listen.
Millie´s voice is fitting. You really just need an adjustment period. If you look back to episode 0 Stolas also doesn´t really sound similar. His new voice is pretty different, but it works.
There's some history between Fizzarolli and Blitzø too. I'm sure you'll catch it when you see it. Millie's voice actor tones down the Southern-fried accent in future episodes, which makes it more bearable, and even cute sometimes. The actors were still finding their groove in the second official (third, if you count the pilot) episode. Ooh, you're coming up on one of my favorite episodes.
Nobody expects the Stolas song or the real emotions. I love the "trying to be a good parent but struggling to figure out how and understand his child and regularly screwing up" thing with Stolas. Watching you crack up all the jokes I did is great. I understand your perspective on Millie's voice acting but the real issue is that they didn't go for the accent that they were always intending to do when they made the pilot and only started it at episode 1. Also Millie's accent grows stronger in certain contexts and I think it's deliberate. A little touch I really like is how Moxie grabs the carnival toy Millie wanted and hands it over for her to snuggle in the middle of all the chaos.
When you go into Helluva Boss expecting a silly irreverent cartoon about wacky hitman adventures... Only for Ep2 to open with a loving father singing one of the most beautiful lullabies ever written to his daughter.
If you're going to make such faces and pause as much whenever Millie talks, this series is not gonna be fun. Opinions aside, there's nothing wrong with Millie's new voice/accent, especially when we find out later on why she has it in the first place. If anything, her previous VA didn't do a good enough job to convey that Millie was meant to have a southern accent. Rant aside, glad to see you continuing this series and you're going to love Stolas/Octavia a lot more as time goes on!
Had the same thought, yes. It's ok to prefer one VA to another but pausing/wincing EVERY time she speaks will be rough ngl. Although when you enjoy one so much bias will always be present so.. who knows. Just sad she's my fav character EASY
Get some lovely songs in this one, especially "You Will Be Okay." Also, I honestly do love how, along with Bryce Pinkham (who played the lead character Monty in Broadway's "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder") as Stolas, we also got Alex Brightman (THE Beetlejuice from Broadway's "Beetlejuice" musical) as Robo Fizz.
I love that this show isn't just mindless primitive acts of violence. There are clever jokes and heartfelt moments that I'm never going to forget. The story is top notch and I'm just amazed that it's all free and supported by fans. You guys could've done whatever you wanted and you decided to create a master piece. Well done. I can't wait for more.

Stolas certainly won't be winning any Father-of-the-Year awards, but he really truly loves his daughter, and the fact that he makes an effort already puts him above about 85% of all fictional parents. A key thing to note is that Stella isn't angry that Stolas cheated on her, she's angry that he, a high-class Prince, cheated on her with an imp, the bottom of the demonic class ladder. Morgan Terry's reaction had it absolutely right comparing her to Odalia Blight; the literally only thing Stella cares an ounce of a shit about is her own public image. Don't worry, Millie's voice will get better later on. Her VA overdid her Sawthin' Aksint in these early episodes, but she goes easier on it over time. Fun fact: Stolas is an actual demon described in the real-world Ars Goetia. He's depicted as a long-legged owl wearing a crown, and is in charge of astronomy, prophecy, precious gems, and poisonous plants. Notice that in the show Stolas often wears a top hat with a crown on it, and he keeps a lot of plants in his palace. And a cute detail, Octavia's beanie also has a little crown on it. Additional fun fact: Fans asked who was was more powerful between Alastair and Stolas, and Vivzie answered that their powers work very differently from each other, so much so that they're not really comparable at all, but in simple terms of raw power Stolas is stronger.
Okay so we have both Alador and Stolas trying to be good dads towards their teen daughters, but the real question: who’s the worse wife, Stella or Odalia?
Stella seems to just ignore Octavia for the most part, we never see them interact and she never even mentions her daughter at all, I would say that Odelia is worse because she is directly cruel to Amity.
Your point is valid, however, Stella has been seen to abuse Stolas. And as far as I know, Odalia has never hit any member of her family (because it’s Disney). Also, Odalia is definitely the worst mother, but what about wife?
@@sapphireleya7373 I missed the wife part in your post, Stella is the worse wife, Odelia seems to at least work with Alador and the two operate on the same level and page, but She definitely does most of the work in the relationship.
Stella seeing as (warning spoilers) Stella hired Striker to kill Stolas Odalia may have been bad to her off springs but she never tried to have them killed
Stolas' song to Octavia reminds me a lot of Mufasa's "Great Kings of the Past" speech to Simba. They're both saying that as their respective fathers, they won't be around forever, but their spirits will always be their to guide and comfort them when they're needed.

Fizzaroli is so far One of MY Fave Antagonists from This Show. PLUS he’s voiced Alex Brightman who is ALSO Beetlejuice from the Beetlejuice Musical in Broadway🃏
I like the little nod about Millie's skills in this one. When she tries shooting down the target at the booth to win the 'thing' she misses it entirely. Not even close to the target. But later in the funhouse it's Millie who shoots Stolas's attacker straight through the forehead from much father away than the targets in the booth were. Obviously Millie cán shoot guns with accuracy. She's no slouch. But the guns are generally more Moxie's specialty whereas Millie is generally seen not with guns but more 'up-close-and-personal' weapons. So it's my headcanon she just didn't want to embarras Moxxie at the prize booth at something he's supposed to be the expert at in their relationship, and she missed the target on purpose. Such a cute couple.
Fun fact: There's extended lyrics to "You Will be OK" (Stolas' song to Octavia in the beginning of the episode), and one of the parts is "When the heavens crash aground, I know you'll hear the trumpets sound, and you'll be OK, everything will be OK." Now, the whole song has references to the biblical apocalypse, but that's a *very* interesting line in that context. Hearing trumpets means that you'll be saved and go to the new Heaven after the apocalypse. That's right, Stolas *knows* (presumably through prophesy) that Octavia will get to go to Heaven.
This remains my favorite episode even now. (It came out when I was looking after an elderly parent; I burst into tears more than once while attempting to sing along. May have had the lullaby on repeat. With crying 😅)

Bryce Pinkham, the VA for Stolas post-pilot, has performed on Broadway, which makes me think that it's partially the reason he was picked for the new voice. The man can sing, and we should all know by now that the series creator likes her musical numbers. I thought his performance in the first episode wasn't great, like he didn't really have the character "down" yet, but I think in episode 2 he really hit his stride, and got to show off his singing abilities, too. Now, I'm kind of glad that they re-cast him - I'm not sure if the original VA had this kind of background and/or singing ability. Also it seems that the Stolas character has been fine-tuned a bit from the pilot, and I think Bryce's voice actually works better. It was really this episode that really just made him the "definitive" voice for the character.
When you think about it, Stolas sang about how he thought love would be fun, when she was a little girl. It means even then, he wasn't happy with his wife. So he might have hide it pretty well if Octavia never suspected a thing.
I just love Stolas and Octavia And I got super stocked to hear that voice for the clown! Big fan of the Beetlejuice musical, and Alex Brightman is just amazing

In Season 2 Episode 1 it is hinted that Astolas only talks dirty to Blitzo because he thinks Blitzo likes it.
The episode that solidified Bryce Pinkham as THE definitive Stolas after a slightly controversial start in Episode 1! This is one of the best episodes of the series, and I can't wait to see Elijah's reaction to this!
I can't wait to see her reaction to every single episode!!
Truth Seekers will be an interesting one.
Fun Fact: Fizzarolli is voiced by Alex Brightman. Same guy who voices Temalucas in Dead End!
And beetlejuice the musical

Is no one gonna talk about Stolas just chilling and singing to his daughter while that star goes supernova? *Quite a beautiful scene, I might add.*
Love how Octavia is so cared for by her dad, Stolas’s an awesome character in this show, even how his life is collapsing around him he still cares for his daughter above everything.
This is the point where the series goes from a funny but crass adult show into something that is truly special and good. It completely reintroduces you to Stolas through his relationship to his daughter, the one person he loves more than Blitz and whom he would move Hell and Earth for.
I love how Millie just rams through the window with her head (I guess with her horns) from being so excited
Millie: "YEE-HAW!"
Elijah: "No."
Sometimes I don't even understand what Millie says because of her accent😂
YESS! I love this!!!! STOLAS IS BEST DAD! I'm so glad you love Stolas. His song in this episode is my favorite so far. Its so heartfelt it brings tears to my eyes everytime I watch it. Can't wait for you to learn more about him :D
Hi Morgan!! 💜💜
Omg Morgan! Love your videos!
Ayyyy Hark the Herald, Morgan is here!!!😎
Hi Morgan !!
Millile's new VA does slowly transition to sound more like Pilot Millie
Some fathers want to show their daughters the world, but in that single lullaby, Stolas showed his daughter the universe

This episode definitely gave a me "I did not consent to these feels" moment when I first saw it. It totally caught me off guard with how touching it was. Vivziepop could've done whatever you wanted and you decided to create a master piece. Well done. I can't wait for more.

@@alejandromarte9852 i was about to say that too and how is all the comments i see from them are all next to each other
Totally with you! Episode 1 is exactly what you expect from this show as set up by the pilot. Weird, crude, violent, and very funny. This episode though? This is where it became something truly special.
@@vsGoliath96 Yeah, and it's here where Viv established the show to be very different from other series of its type.
I love how much Stolas really cares about Blitzo!!!!! They're so cute together!!!!
This episode was when I Knew this was going to be a good show, the pilot and episode one were enjoyable, but this one really solidified me as a fan and it’s probably the one I watch the most out of all of season one, well until the first half of the finale that is, “you will be okay” is just pure gold.
4:29 "i didn't expect it but i like it" that's helluva's motto
This is one of my favorite episodes. The humor and the emotions and the SONG!
I can't help but hear Invader Zim whenever Moxxie talks (same voice actor) and it's just *chefs kiss*
You'll realize eventually why they gave Millie a southern sounding accent. It might not grow on you but you'll realize why they changed it.
Technically you can hear it in the pilot, but it’s nowhere near as pronounced as it is with Vivian’s.
I love how Vivze, Brandon, and the crew was bold enough to make Stolas such a sympathetic character in episode two
Stolas can be a pervert owl, but not a negligent dad, well, more or less, he can do everything for Octavia 😊, he even took her to see a planetary system exploding with his lullaby, with more episodes you can see he is from far one of the best characters in Helluva Boss
I actually prefer Millie’s usual voice over the pilot I love it sm
Stolas & Octavia's dynamic reminds me a lot of Dr. Doofenshmirtz's relationship with his daughter Vanessa from *Phineas and Ferb*
Doof is the best cartoon dad - Fight me
¿Why fight a fight i WILL lose?
Your comment was completely unexpected, and by unexpected I mean TOTALLY EXPECTED!! ;)
Definitely seeing a little similarity here, both Doof and Stolas would do anything for their daughters…
The Robo-Fizz is kinda funny. The song is good too and so is how Blitz dealt with him
Also, Moxie dealing with that carnie while trying to get a "thing" for Millie is relatable (Earth or Hell, Carnival games are rigged)
Stolas has such a beautiful singing voice, and the solar system in the background is so amazing!!!!!!
13:55 Blitzø: the “o” is silent now.
Elijah: Oh-
No spoilers, but I can’t wait to see Elijah’s reactions to various things in the next episode for different reasons. Gonna be fun times.
She is so gonna have a gay panic
@@blackheartthedarklord6428 I don’t doubt it.
I'm excited for Truth Seekers that has one of my favourite songs
@@mmaaaaaxxx I have rewatched that episode so many times. So good.
Also Blitzø and Loona’s relationship as well is touched on more in this one.
As much as I would love to believe that Stolas and Charlie are the same way in the squeaky sense it’s actually Stolas’s little slippers that squeak
Fun fact, the voice of Fizzarolli is Alex Brightman, voice of Pugsley in Dead End: Paranormal Park!
That robot is actually a robotic replica of Blitzo’s childhood best friend, you’ll meet the real one in Ep 7 Ozzie’s
Stolas over the course of the season, has become one of my favorite characters and I know you’re just gonna love him more and more. Excited for the next helluva boss episode.
Seeing Stolas care for his daughter so much just made just cry more than Octavia's 5 year old sobbering

Fun Fact: Alex Brightman, the voice of the robot clown in this episode, voiced Pugsley in Paranormal Park. He also played the title character in Beetlejuice the Musical. I'd recommend giving the soundtrack a listen.
It’s so cool that he kinda uses his Beej voice for fizz
7:08 they all have little squeaks u can search it up helluva boss and Hazbin hotel, all of the characters squeak! It’s very adorable actually.
Rewatching the part where the sun supernovas I legit got chills
Millie´s voice is fitting. You really just need an adjustment period.
If you look back to episode 0 Stolas also doesn´t really sound similar. His new voice is pretty different, but it works.
There's some history between Fizzarolli and Blitzø too. I'm sure you'll catch it when you see it. Millie's voice actor tones down the Southern-fried accent in future episodes, which makes it more bearable, and even cute sometimes. The actors were still finding their groove in the second official (third, if you count the pilot) episode.
Ooh, you're coming up on one of my favorite episodes.
This is one of my favorite episode, I loved learning about Stolas and Via's relationship and the song at the begining was GORGEOUS
0:00 I’ve been looping this intro for like 2 minutes now
Nobody expects the Stolas song or the real emotions.
0:01: Lil Waddles intro. 🤗
2:31: Reaction starts here.
5:03: The voice actor for Stolas is Bryce Pinkham
This in my opinion is where Helluva Boss really gets good
I agree - and Episode 5 truly marks the turning point in the series, from an episodic sitcom to a deeper, character-centered, story-driven show
When you go into Helluva Boss expecting a silly irreverent cartoon about wacky hitman adventures...
@@danbudziszewski8219 This is true!
Get some lovely songs in this one, especially "You Will Be Okay."
Also, I honestly do love how, along with Bryce Pinkham (who played the lead character Monty in Broadway's "A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder") as Stolas, we also got Alex Brightman (THE Beetlejuice from Broadway's "Beetlejuice" musical) as Robo Fizz.
Moxxie: "he's busy being a fool"
Stolas: "what kind of a fool?"
Moxxie: "The everything is now on fire type."
Stolas: 🤷♂️😑
Lmfao Very true 😂

Take a close look at Octavia's music player when she wakes up, she is 100% serious about that being the name of the song and band
"What-"
"The-"
"FUCK-
"Dad???"
"Language, everyone!"
Fr tho, can we agree Elijah would have been a great choice for Luna's voice actor?
Okay so we have both Alador and Stolas trying to be good dads towards their teen daughters, but the real question: who’s the worse wife, Stella or Odalia?
Hard to say who's worse
Stella seeing as
(warning spoilers)
Stella hired Striker to kill Stolas Odalia may have been bad to her off springs but she never tried to have them killed
Stolas' singing quite literally gave me goosies everywhere.
And yes, a very loving father.
Getting to know the fatherly side of Stolas with his daughter Octavia brings out a different perspective on him for sure!
Stolas' song to Octavia reminds me a lot of Mufasa's "Great Kings of the Past" speech to Simba. They're both saying that as their respective fathers, they won't be around forever, but their spirits will always be their to guide and comfort them when they're needed.
A whole year later and the joke of Stolas being the only man in hell who has to be consistently bleeped is still my favorite joke.

Fun fact: There's extended lyrics to "You Will be OK" (Stolas' song to Octavia in the beginning of the episode), and one of the parts is
"When the heavens crash aground, I know you'll hear the trumpets sound, and you'll be OK, everything will be OK."
Now, the whole song has references to the biblical apocalypse, but that's a *very* interesting line in that context. Hearing trumpets means that you'll be saved and go to the new Heaven after the apocalypse. That's right, Stolas *knows* (presumably through prophesy) that Octavia will get to go to Heaven.
I'm so excited for the next episode. Because miraculous fans will recognize the voice actor right away!^^
millie: *speaks*
Elijah: 😠
Millie is also southern now, thats why she has a southern accent ; you'll get used to it
I’m glad elijah caught the shoutout to Charlie’s song
If you almost cried at Stolas's song this ep just WAIT til his next song. Its my fav in the entire show and it goes with my fav scene after it.
It makes sense that Stolas would be a good singer because he's a bird.
I have a head canon that Charlie was Octavia’s babysitter.
This remains my favorite episode even now. (It came out when I was looking after an elderly parent; I burst into tears more than once while attempting to sing along. May have had the lullaby on repeat. With crying 😅)
Oh and I need more people to realize that Blizo's makeshift sex toys are made out of THUMBTACKS AND STAPLE REMOVERS

This is my favorite episode of Helluva boss. Period.
Millie's new va gets closer to the original over time imo
anecdote : stella and Blitzø's VA are close friends irl (they made multiple videos together)
I haven't seen anyone here mention it, so I will: Loona and Emira Blight from TOH are the same voice actress
Sips Tea: oh hi there, I'm just here to see the lesbian girl react to the gay owl.
Not gonna lie i never realized Millie's or stolases voice changed
Stolas: demonic uber-pervert
Also Stolas: A good & caring -yet flawed- dad
The song "You Will Be Okay" brought me to tears!!!!!!
In the words of Cinema Therapy, "Nobody likes clowns. Not even other clowns."
Ahhhhh next episode you'll get to see the amazing character that is Verosika Mayday!
Voiced by Cristina Vee aka Marinette aka Ladybug!
When you think about it, Stolas sang about how he thought love would be fun, when she was a little girl. It means even then, he wasn't happy with his wife. So he might have hide it pretty well if Octavia never suspected a thing.
Fun fact: You Will Be Okay was based on a lullaby Sam Haft (music writer for Helluva Boss) wrote for his kid.
I just love Stolas and Octavia
And I got super stocked to hear that voice for the clown! Big fan of the Beetlejuice musical, and Alex Brightman is just amazing
