Wow, Jerry, that was epic!!!!!!! The story at the beginning was gripping, so well done!!! Something I won't forget. Amazing relics too!!! Thank you, Jerry 💖💖
Excellent! What an amazing story! I never heard the brothel token thing before. If this were posted on April 1 I would have thought you were pulling our leg. 🤭
Man great story. It shows that research pays off. I would suggest you to consider carrying a nylon brush to clear your finds from dirt rather than rubbing them on your pants or with your fingers. Also, a small atomizer with water would also be helpful. The tombac button shank broke for that reason. A little bit of water and softly brushing off the dirt would've helped.
Keeping history in the videos and site specific brings the items found so much more exciting. Check all sounds, even the lower numbers. Is that hogweed that grows up there? You might want to register your finds with your historical society. Watched Quarter Hoarders and saw American Digger editor. He mentioned submitting items and stories for the What Is It page. Your videos on this historic site just might make it to the top of the list! Emphasis on coins is great, but artifacts add more meat to bone. Be safe out there.😊
Thank you, we were not familiar with the American Digger page. Maybe we will look into it. I forget the name of the weed but it’s not native and it’s very invasive and we agree. The relics are often times more exciting to find. Thanks as always for the comment and the support!
Some good stuff up in there I'm from east Tennessee me and my Brother have been looking at some old coal camp's we find some good stuff sometimes love your youtube suff we only go In the winter because of snakes
I have found a bunch of pocket watches and I think it’s likely something different because of the size and thickness of the material. You may be right but just seems to be different thanks for watching and the comment
Jerry, looks like tough swinging with all those stalks on the ground. It proves that an area is never detected out. Great historical finds. Loved your opening, it puts you right in that era when watching you.👍👏😀
I don’t know much about native artifacts but the tinkler cones I have seen look like the sharp tip is cut off so they can tie it to their dress. The ones we found were very sharp and rigid. With no way to fasten them other than to a shaft.
Another great video Jerry you guys have some great history in your area. I loved the beginning of your video. What assets do you use to get the add in’s? I use some Motion VFX stuff myself.
Thanks Jerry. Im always interested is what others are using. It funny how now that I am getting more into making videos, when I watch others Im always wondering how they made that lol. Im trying to get better every video.
Man I really love watching you get history back into 2024 from early days before and after wars.im adicted i wou;ld give my legs and arm jus to be metal det with you and friend I jus wish your videos be 35 mins long .the excitement is over welming see my past fam is from 800s to the 1894 era to 1920s .Yes going there :) I am stuck with being TTI severe brain damaged with alot of medical problems plus Valentines was in hospital had 3 back to back siezers ok the doc said plainly i had 2 weeks to go to live. Brain infection, blood poising , UTTI as bad as i am head injurd these do occur a few times in a lifetime i get that !@ so im thankful everyday i am living to type to my friends and family. My backyard is full of history back into the late 1900s .40 or 48 acres i would need help see my husband cannot have a metal detector he has a chip in his chest n the prices dam noway i can afford that .
Thanks, we go back and forth about adding music. I actually edited the video without it during the finds and it seemed like something was missing so I added it.
I think that round ball you found was a musket ball from an Indian musket. Some of the early Indians got their muskets from the French. Since lead was scarce in that time, the Indians were given muskets made for smaller round balls. Anything .36 or smaller was most likely buck shot. .375 was typical Indian ammo. Don’t quote me. Lol. Thanks for the adventure.
I enjoy your videos, unfortunately the last piece of brass you dug looks like kettle scrap and not a point. Nice old site and I’m sure you will find other trade artifacts!
That is a fascinating site, far more "unusual" finds than at a homestead. The item that was sticking up from the ground was spindle-like, but I have no good idea of its purpose. However, I do think some of the items are industrial revolution-era. Is the site actually next to the river?
Yes, it’s along the river(you can see the river behind me in some of the clips). There was an early settlement there that was gone in the 1870s as evidence nothing being there on the 1870s map but there was a salt works, post office, and coal works there on the 1860s map. From our research the town was established sometime around 1840s. The Indian artifacts would suggest there was an Indian village or trading post there prior to the establishment of the small town.
And the site of the story was just a few miles below this spot so it’s very possible that the attack could have been launched from this spot when it was an Indian village.
Possible. I have dug many watches and something is different about this. It was smaller than any typical one that I have ever dug. It’s possible though
Funny i just read that story the other evening about those pioneers, them idian around here were brutal, another great narrative is about a woman who escaped the indians ,sufferings of Massey Harbison, check it out!!
I love your openers! Often reenactments! You guys are great bc your love of history shines thru. ❤
Thanks! 😊
Research is so vital. And you are confirming (possibly) history!!!
Thank you. It certainly is a historic area.

Thank you as always Mona for watching and for commenting on our videos! It was a sad story when. We read it.
Got my coffee, and I'm ready for an adventure!!! Good morning guys... 💖💖
Im binging on your videos. Thank you. Really like your content. The music reminds me of the movie the edge. I keep waiting for the bear to pop out.
We have run into black bear a couple of times out and about. Always try and get them on camera, but man are they elusive for a large animal!
Awesome finds and location mr Jerry!
Are you kidding me with these sites, videos, and history? Amazing! A site linked to General George is unbelievable! Outstanding job Jerry!
Well not technically George himself but a Captain that served under him. Thanks for the kind words brother!
Excellent! What an amazing story! I never heard the brothel token thing before. If this were posted on April 1 I would have thought you were pulling our leg. 🤭
I have read about them then last year a guy we were out with dug one up. Super neat find. Thanks for watching.
Spots like that are so much fun to hunt. Thanks for taking us along!
Yea, they are a blast! Thanks for watching brother!
Looks like a brooch, hand made by a craftsman. Nice finds, keep up the terrific work!
Very awesome site and cool finds God Bless and happy dirt fishin…Virgil

Thanks Robert, I do need to get a few things to help clean off some of my more delicate finds. Thanks for watching!
Using alcohol in a sprat bottle will better. Will dry faster.
that held a photograph. Someone had a photo of a loved one in that compartment behind a hinged cover , with the front being glass.
I always enjoy. Thanks for another video.
Thank you for the support! It’s why we keep going out!
Neat history and finds!
1st find looks like maybe the retaining collar on a cameo broach.

The pendent almost looks like a locket.
Could have been! Winders who’s picture may have been in it

I wonder what the difference is between a kettle point and a tinkle cone worn for decorations? Great video and awesome finds. Thanks for sharing!!!

Makes sense. Thanks again. Great video.
Thanks for another great video it was awesome can't wait for the next video stay safe out there and lots of love from West Virginia ❤️🙂
Thank you for the support! We are grateful for you to tune in
Great finds
Thank you!
I never thought you could do a better video but you have thanks
Thank you! We are glad you enjoyed it!
What a great story of history’s past! ❤
Thanks

I thought that pendant looked like part of a wrist watch.
Or pocket watch?
Possible, it looked different to me.

Our episodes can only be as long as the finds permit us to. We wish we could release hour long episodes every week.
Brass seems like a metal you would not want to waste.
Agreed.
Damn, what a story! Never know.
Ya never do! Thanks for watching!
Nice work!!
Thanks!
Glad you got back... great site! For what its worth, I found the background music distracting after a while. Hard to hear you speak at times.
Thanks, we go back and forth about adding music. I actually edited the video without it during the finds and it seemed like something was missing so I added it.
the plant that your gonna be fighting with in the coming weeks is Japanese Knotweed
Thanks for the ID on that. Looks like nasty stuff
Looks like part of a hinge on the side
Possibly

I’d be 1/2 tempted to probe around for out house or garage pit , if it’s not buried
Yes, I have a probe. I will have to take it and check itnout

Yea, it was worried about that. Still cool to think it was scrap to be used. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
Neat finds
Do you have any detector recommendations for a budget of £400
I think that’s around 430 US Dollars. I’d go with the Garrett brand. Especially if you’re just starting out.

Brothel token huh?
This one was not but I watched one dug before. Google brothel token large cent😉
