The Colbor W100 arrived in a small, shoebox-sized package. It included the light, a soft dome, a metallic reflector, a power cable, and a power adapter.
The light felt solid and sturdy. It has a built-in display that shows the color temperature and brightness levels. There are knobs and a wheel to adjust these settings manually. There's also a button to turn the light on and off.
I was impressed with how bright the light was. It instantly illuminated my room like daylight when I turned it on. The large fan behind the light activated quickly and ran quietly.
The light has a frosted glass design for even light distribution. I tested it at 5,600 Kelvin with 50% brightness and confirmed that the light was evenly spread without intense hot spots.
I also tried the light with the reflector and the soft dome. The reflector narrowed down the illuminated area, while the soft dome diffused the light, making it softer. I liked the soft dome the most because it created a wider area of soft light.
One downside of the light is that the design is based on a camera, but it cannot sit flat on a surface like a camera because the power cable gets in the way. However, it has several screw holes so that you can mount it on a light stand or tripod.
Another interesting feature of this light is the NFC technology. I could connect the Colbor Studio app and the light by tapping my NFC-enabled phone on the light. With the app, I could remotely control the brightness and color temperature of the light.
The light can also create special effects like flickering flames, pulsating rhythms, and explosive bursts. A cool color picker feature lets you point your phone at any ambient light, and the Colbor W100 will automatically match the color temperature.
I was very impressed with the Colbor W100. It's a powerful, portable light perfect for video production and live streaming. The only drawbacks are that it can get hot at maximum brightness and it requires an external power source. However, these drawbacks are easily outweighed by the benefits of this light. I highly recommend the Colbor W100!
