@@kerran4550 well of course you should make your own! It is almost the exact same process! The only difference is you only have so ask people for balancing! I’ve made a few monsters myself after designing them based on random combinations of animals. Basically, you want to take features of your creation’s design and abilities you have in mind into account. For example, one creature I made was the Living Fireball. It is based off an urchin and a hedgehog. They can range from small to medium, and have the ability to set their bodies ablaze when freightened (Of course they’re immune). You want to have your concept in front of you before you do it, but once you do it’ll be so much fun! I hope I answer your question
Nice video. About overpowered classes. One time our exDM have homebrew rogue/assassin DMPC that can deal 700+ points of damage in one hit. Because all his bonuses to damage was in %, and increase exponentially. Moral of the story: If DM create a rogue, run! P.S. Sorry for my poor english. I'm not native speaker
I did remember making a Dark Knight class in D&D a few months back, based on FF14's Dark Knight. It was 50/50 for my friends so I decided to scrap the idea. But after watching this, I'm considering of continuing it. I just need people to review it.
I'm the same way. I'm trying to make PSO2 classes into 5e. Oddly I started with Etolie, and I have a rough concept of Hero. Hunter (as a fighter sub) is also mostly done and needs playtesting.

Im playing the Channler in a group and its one of my favourite classes. I think a good change for the time slip ability would make it so at level twenty you have to roll a d20 each turn and if you get a 20 you get to use it again. This would allow you to use it multiple times in combat if you get lucky or if it is a long combat and you also can use it in multiple combats.
I was just thinking the same thing. I was hoping to see his thoughts on the Tashas subclasses. Plus, his how to play D&D videos are the best and I recommend them to all my new players. I hope he hasn’t stopped making content.

Hey, I really love the channel and strongly believe it's underrated. I wanna make a small suggestion, you should probably do Cyberpunk 2020 for your next system guide. Or Cyberpunk Red when it releases. 2077 is around the corner and I know a lot of people might want to check out 2020 (also bc its 2020) and it's just an overall cool system. I loved the CoC videos. Thought I might as well pitch my idea for a class here, see how people might like the idea: I am calling it The Hoi Polloi(it's french for Commoner). The idea of this character is that you are just an ordinary person, no patron, no oath, not even able to wield weapons and armor properly. But what you lack in proficiency, you make up for with raw improvements. The idea is that for every level you get and Ability Score Improvement, and nothing else. So if you play you cards right and got good rolls for score, you could get a 20 in every score. On top of that you also can use Feats to make for interesting builds. It's simple: d8 hit die, 3 skill proficiency of your choice, 2 save throw proficiency of your choice, and no armor weapon or tool proficiency. But you still keep the stuff you get from your Race and Background. I have not play tested it yet, but I would like to hear a bit of feed back or opinons.

Perhaps replace some of the Ability Score Improvements it gets with a few unique features that play into its ability score based play style, such as temporarily surpassing their limits, or something like that. As for the theme, I think having a "Commoner" running around with 20s in nearly every stat wouldn't really be just a "commoner" any more. lol. Maybe have the class be themed heavily around self betterment, training, and the pursuit of knowledge. Maybe calling it something like the Savant (a learned person), or something similar. Hope this little critique helps. Good luck with the class.

Hey CJ, have you ever considered making more phantasmal aspects based off of more JOJO stands, Persona, or even Kingdom Hearts heartless/nobody's? I think that would be really cool and I would buy it in a heart beat.
I just tought of a thing, if your phantom grabs you and then you jump, (talking about tethered phantoms) it will also move, and since its grabbed it will move you with its tethered move, making you to go up and with that you phantasm that is carrying you, so you can actually fly with your phantasm. (Sorry if my english is so good, its not my native language)
I’ve actually really liked the Channeler and have worked on it myself, even adding a few more subclasses. I’ve also altered some stuff and tried to add my own flavor. Even integrated it further with a few references by other stuff like Magic Items and rulings. I also just really like thinking of ways to flavor it. Edit: probably should of asked this earlier but is the Channeler ever gonna go to DM's Guild?

Thanks. This is helpful. I like to come up with new kinds of magic classes. I guess I would need more thourough explanation for the more obscure classes. There are things like ovate, seer, alchemist and witch. I recently came with a new class called illusionist. That blew my mind. In a nutshell, this is something like a stage magician but this does real magic to create illusions of images and sounds. This is like the illusion school of magic in DND. I am curious about the channeler class in the video. I know that channeling is the magical ability to speak on behalf of some supernatural being. Maybe an example is Pentacostals speaking in toungues. Speaking in togues is similar to channeling and probably the same thing. I recently thought of complex kinds of magicians. This is more like a class mixed with subclass. I did think of a combo that was mainly holy magic with arcane and occult in there too. I call it thaumaturgic. So this is mainly like a cleric. However it expands to get some espteric magic from wizards and warlocks. One is not just devoted to the deities. They can also speak on behalf of the deities through a psychic link. I can best describe the thaumaturgic magician as a channeling prophet. So there is channeling in there. The video makes the channeler look like they are summoning some ghost or jinn. I am not sure. I would like a more thourough explanation. I reccomend to only homebrew if one is a DM. That includes making a new class. Making stuff is the DM's job. Players have to go by the rules of the DM and the Player's Handbook. Players can homebrew on thier own. They can even playtest on thier own before sharing to others. That can help a player become a DM themselves.

I don't know if I'd take this advice tbh. The class seems pretty overpowered to say the least to me. On top of all the powerful abilities given at a really early level invisibility is just way to powerful of an ability to just always have.
