I recently lost my mother who was 97 years old. Its a very sad time for me and your videos have always helped to cheer me up. She was so interested in my painting and always liked to see what I had done. Thank you for posting your techniques for us to practice and learn from. I learn so much from you and really appreciate how you encourage us to practice.
Mr Shibasaki you are my great teacher. In watercolor but in life as well. You teach us how to paint but also how to grow old. The path of life can be very colorful. Thank you.
This is very true, Evelina, I am also learning very much from Shibasaki-sensei, both in art and also in life! You are very right ! Thank you ! - Comment Moderator for Watercolor by Shibasaki
I'm always amazed how at the end, when he paints the demo, it looks like something childish and cartoonish, but then just as he's almost finished he adds a few details and it's transformed into a lifelike object.
Thank you very much, Deepa! Shibasaki-sensei does make beautiful leaves with beautiful color, I think so too! :D - Comment Moderator for Watercolor by Shibasaki
This technique is so beautiful the possibilities are endless! Such interesting colour blending, thank you very much for this variation of the wet-on-wet technique!
Your teaching ability is very good - thank you for all the techniques you have demonstrated. They are the usual techniques but you add in a special method or twist that makes them even better. I also appreciate the mini painting tutorial that you do after the end of the of the verbal instruction - seeing what you just taught done in a mini painting is very helpful.
Ahh, now that's a good one. I like the note on density differences. I have seen an artist on Instagram that does figures using only a single dark color and the back run technique to lighten the midtone areas!
Wow this is so detailed and it really helps break down the process in a way that's easy to follow and doesn't feel so intimidating for a beginner. You're an awesome teacher! Thanks for the tutorials mate! This really makes me wanna try picking up painting again. I always thought I couldn't do it because it seems so difficult but I think with your videos I'd be able to get better.
Thank you for this technique. The maple leaves are a challenge, because they have so many colours, and you succeeded beautifully. I would love to see other ways in which you incorporate this technique while painting other subjects.
Thank you Shibasaki-sensei! I’ve been practicing all the beginner techniques you’ve taught us and I’m getting better. Looking forward to more beginner videos. They’re valuable!
Mr Shibasaki, Thank you for the very detailed explanation and practicals on wet-in-wet and back run methods. This is highly informative and I believe that creative minded can impement these in their works for various effects by doing different experiments. Thank you so much.
Thank you for showing me the back run technique! I always thought it was a mistake I had done but now I understand it is a lovely piece of the art too.
thanks for the informative video, it was slightly confusing what was going on in the beginning. but this was informative, I knew about wet washes but back run is knew to me, so thank you.
Thank you Shibasaki Sensei. I'm new to watercolor. Your lessons are very easy to understand. You explain things very well, and in a patient, friendly way. I liked the leaves painting at the end. Beautiful. 🙏
Oh my goodness, such a pretty technique! It reminds me of tie dye and dappled horses! Also, i truly appreciate your kind demeanour, i wish i had art teachers like you in school, i may have not quit for so long!
I could watch pops paint whole day and without having to blink, thank you for the informative tutorial as always pops, very cool. always stay healthy and hydrated pops 👌👍❤🌸😊
So clever! I am binge watching your videos and enjoying every second 😍 .. I feel like I am a sponge soaking up liquid gold .. no, not liquid gold.. water! Water is definitely more valuable 🥇👩🎨👍 You are the BEST! Thank you 🙏🌹

Your touching comment is full with tenderness
I am 67yrs old and never painted in my life but i'm trying now to learn. I've found your videos very helpful and enjoyable. Thank You. Bill.
I didn't know that the density of the colours determin wether it's the "back run" or the "wet in wet" technique. Something new learned, thank you!
You are the best. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR TUTORIALS.
Thank you, Kalaki! Shibasaki-sensei appreciates your comments! :)

I am in Texas and you are my hero. I love the way you end video by showing us how to use the technique.
Thank you very much, S P ! Shibasaki-sensei is happy that his videos reach everywhere in the world
Happy teachers day to you. In India, we celeberate september 5 as teacher's day. Thanks for all beautiful lessons. ❤️😍
Things that cheer me up when I’m sad:

I really love the end of the videos. makes the practice so fun , like a surprise gift
thank you🎂☃️🎄🎁😊
Thank you so much, Shibasaki. You are a wonderful teacher.
I'm always amazed how at the end, when he paints the demo, it looks like something childish and cartoonish, but then just as he's almost finished he adds a few details and it's transformed into a lifelike object.
Your tutorials are the best and most easily understood on youtube.
This is interesting! It really gives it that water color characteristic that you can't get with other paints!
Thank you, Einar :D Shibasaki-sensei is glad that you enjoyed the video :D

7:00 made me understand this technique more clearly, thank you for the contrast!

What a blessing that I have found such a wonderful teacher in your face! Please us with your skills for many years!
This one video taught me more about water colour than 4 years of art in school.... it's perfect for learning and understanding ♡
This technique is so beautiful the possibilities are endless! Such interesting colour blending, thank you very much for this variation of the wet-on-wet technique! 🙏🏻🎨🖌💧🙇🏻♀️

This is a technique I never thought to use. Im trying to build the confidence to use bolder colors. Density is key. I learned something new
Thank you again! It is such a good feeling when you are lost in theory and suddenly the things became so clear. Arigato!
Never heard of this technique before, but I love it. I used it to paint an underwater scene today. Thank you! 😊💙
Pretty good! It's a great idea to show when to dry (many watercolor channels don't). Drying for putting the next layer is important. Thanks.
I love your classes....First technique...after a beautiful practice...Domo Arigatou Sensei!
These would make beautiful fabrics for making kimono! 👘 As usual, thank you for a brilliant tutorial!🙋🏼♀️

Fabulous! Learning how to create them can help to learn how to avoid them but oh my goodness the leaves you painted are beautiful!
I never knew of the back run method. This is really cool! :)
It is a cool technique, isnt it? :) Shibasaki-sensei is happy for your comment !

Wow, great master Shiba. I do appreciate your class about back run. Formidable in the end. Thank you 🙏
By the way, You seem so happy today. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Incredible video Shibasaki-San
So clever! I am binge watching your videos and enjoying every second 😍 .. I feel like I am a sponge soaking up liquid gold .. no, not liquid gold.. water! Water is definitely more valuable 🥇👩🎨👍
You are the BEST! Thank you 🙏🌹

You are an amazing teacher❣️❣️❣️💕💕💕 thank you very much
JOY OF PAINTING!
Arigado! Sensei! will quick to apply it to practice,! Waiting your next lesson!
Thank you, professor!
Relaxing as always. Thank you for the tutorial 💕
Great.. I learn so much from your videos.. thank you.. and you are an awesome teacher. 💕💕☺️
Thank you so much for this lesson! The demonstration for using the technique at the end is very helpful!
