This is what legends are made of I was just thinking always loved ur wife's projects they always make me feel better growing its like u make the little guy's and girls appreciated cuz u put them on the top that's why I love this channel ppl can relate and the little ppl get noticed thanks gavin for the great work the engine that could I think I can ps music is always a plus I love the jams as Us Americans call it chill out gavin and the paint job looks great I love me a layer gavin and his silly voice lol fun
from someone who owned a couple of modded VW boxer engines in the rear of my trike, NEVER seen diff colour wires to the two sides from the dizzy. Also rarely would you see a red fan cover, stock was black or showy was often chrome. The detail on the engine and the time you spent on it though, Hats off.
Always a good idea to hit sintered nylon parts with a high build primer, gives a smoother texture and reduces the full on "paint suck" that porous materials have. Next time ;)
What you need to do to get a better view of the engine, do what they did with the real thing, cut off the engine boot lid by scribing in the groove that defines the shape and either leave it off or reattach at an angle. Steve
pretty good!!! Only thing i can see is pre-shading it would of made it pop alittle more, blend 2 different types of silvers, you need airbrush for that, rattle can might be possible, with plain brush, pretty good, just get some senna, thinned black wash, put all ocer engine, wipe most oof again, easy, gives good effect, but well done gav!!!
Does the body fit down in it's stock position with the new motor? From other videos and even yours it looks like the air cleaners block the body from sitting down far enough to engage the rear body hold down clips.
Great job Gavin. Really finishes off the back end of the Scorcher - I fitted the same engine. Just to note that if you decide to fit a metal cage, the rear cross bar on some of the metal cages available will hit the 3D printed oil sump. I had to remake the aluminium cage sides to raise that cross bar to clear the oil sump. www.tamiyaclub.com/showroom_model.asp?cid=132511&id=50506.
This is were 3d printing really comes into its own making parts like this that are non structural , that engine does look amazing
Great little detail add-on!
Hats off to you Gav! Very very beautiful work on the engine
Thanks for the feature Gavin. Looks great.
Hey, Knights Customs or even, Gavin do you have a link for the mptor?
@@cigolicious Description....................

Well done you don't often see engines in them . That's brilliant paint work give yourself a pat on the back

That looks great Gav, really enjoyed the time lapse and seeing what paints and washes you were using
Looks great Gavin. Cheers. Gauranga :)
Definitely not giving yourself enough credit mate, that turned out great - I’ve got one of the KC engines on order!
Thanks Dan 👍🏻 The engine adds another level of detail.
Great 👍😊👍
Looks great, just like the real vw crappy castings, nice.

I need to get my act together and get my airbrush kit out and learn some better painting techniques
Thats really cool, great video
Dang! That came out really nice.
Yep!
Nice paint job and the engine looks great 👌, you should try out some Vallejo and AK Interactive paints including the effect paints they do.
Hi Gav. I can't find the s.s. engine on knights custom. Have you got another lik?
For the paint booth u can use juste an old vacuum cleaner to suck the air out of the booth Make it rc have a great video on how to make one

Yes it does on mine
Yes we have seen that too, it fits perfect with no issues on all our Sand Scorchers. Not sure why on others they have a problem clearing.
Gav you can get a modern humpack battery also
Yep I’ve seen them. Probably will as I have a Frog so I can use it on that buggy as well
That’s fantastic Gav well done I must order one of those. Where did you get the wheels from? I would like that style for my scorcher
I was sent them from a viewer
Thanks for replying Gavin great work
Best Regards

Second this, great product and fit perfect

I hate body clips .....I hate body clips .....I hate body clips .....I hate body clips .....
Just bend the round end upwards a little bit so that you stand a chance of getting hold of the clip ;)
@@TachyonDriver I had to get glasses as well ...it was tragic lol I was losing them in grass and taking way to long putting body's on.
@@MrLunithy Yep. Been there. Done that!
