0:12 this is the kind of camera work we’ve come to expect from Nick Murray Productions. Well done 👌🏻
unrivaled professionalism.
the faceless frog
Thanks for bringing the Macan by Nick! Was great to catch up and be able to revisit the PPF we had done in 2019.
The name of the owner sounds pretty German to me. Any heritage there?
My local Scottsdale Porsche dealership say a lot of people don’t care for this color, but I personally absolutely love it ❤👍
Mamba green is the BEST color.
You know this is a real detail shop without those hex lights!
Dirk at Darien Detail!
When are new videos coming?
Darien Detail did my Spyder thanks to Nick's videos. They are the ultimate professionals. Excellent work and well worth the money.
We miss you Nick! (And Tui, Smudge, William and Albert)
Waiting for your configurator video for 992.2. By the way, they removed Racing Yellow.
was about to write the same comment :)
Great stuff nick
2:34 wow, those booty calls really raised the mileage on the Macan.
I have two cars fully wrapped in Xpel, one done in 2018 and the other one last year. Expensive, but no chipped paint and it's a bliss to wash them.
"I was doing long hauls down there..." - what about the travel Nick???
@@davidkeenan5989let him breathe first.
Super clean shop!
Great review, thanks.
That shop looks great
Great looking shop. The car looks fantastic after the refresh 👌
Looks great, love that colour Nick!
I'm not sure I could live with that colour every day. Maybe, but I think I would prefer Papaya Metallic if I were going for an extroverted colour.
Great job, looks super high quality. Love the Knightrider sequence Nick!
Excellent story and production young man. Such great content. Thank you.
Was I the only one surprised that Nick was frequenting a nursing home down in DC?
Great color.
The best team at Darien Detail. They have done 3 of my cars, all perfect!
Great video, Nick -- Dirk has wrapped 10 cars for me with Xpel (7 full wraps) and his work is consistently excellent. Like most things in life, wraps are trade-offs; in my opinion, they can't quite duplicate the luster of a proper paint-corrected clearcoat finish, though Dirk can come close. But like you, I live in Fairfield County, which seems to have an endless natural supply of small stones and other debris on the roads year-round, which is thoughtfully supplemented by the DOT with tons of sand every time it snows. The worst of the winter sanding doesn't dissipate until April or even May, when the towns run their street sweepers. Over the years, I have come down solidly on the side of full wraps to protect the original paint on my cars -- with a wrapped car, my stress level about paint chips is close to zero, so I enjoy my driving far more. At least I don't freak out when I hit a patch of invisible gravel, which happens more often around here than you might think. Wraps (at least the Xpel wraps I have) are also easier to maintain than clearcoat -- much less likely to scratch when washing (always a risk, however careful you are), and the Xpel wrap is self-healing to some extent if you get something minor. You can also put a ceramic coating over the wrap to improve its appearance and resistance to chemical contamination, which Dirk does for me. As to your lovely green Macan, I am ordering a Z4 M/T and can't decide between San Francisco Red Metallic and San Remo Green Metallic. I normally would just go with red, but your video has me thinking seriously about green -- it looks gorgeous on your Macan. One last note is that one doesn't have to have an expensive car to justify a wrap -- it is worth it for any car for which you want to keep the paint perfect. I have joked about this with Dirk, but I bet the 10 cars he has wrapped for me are (with one exception) probably the least expensive cars he has ever wrapped. The cheapest? How about a 2002 Miata LS, a 2019 Fiesta ST and a 2021 Crosstrek M/T? The most expensive? Well, I watch Nick's channel, don't I? If you love the way your car(s) look, and you actually drive them, and you want to keep them beautiful, a wrap (with a ceramic coating on top) is the only way to go. Nick, thanks again for the video!
Looks great
Starting off with my favorite theme song. Already a good video
Love the Knight Rider motif. Tremendous job there.
Holy smokes, that Sonic MSS+ array looks AMAZING!
The color is amazing person! As a detail professional in Naples Florida I thank you for taking care of vehicle properly🎉
I am waiting to hear your thoughts on the new hybrid carrera GTS! Digital gauge cluster, start/ stop button/ and hybrid single turbo 3.6 L flat six and two hybrid electric motors, one in the turbo and one between the engine and pdk gear box. Likely to be PDK only and I am not impressed.
Boy am I glad I watched till the end! Your best work so far!!!
I'm not wrapping my beater Prius, but this video answers my long standing question about removing the film. I thought it might peel the paint with it.
Nick and his crew did the PPF on my 2020 Macan and it stills looks great.
This colour rocks!.
Better than the German rainbow of black, white, grey, silver.
Cool video and great to see how the film held up! @dariendetail did the PPF on my Papaya Macan straight from the dealership before I took delivery January last year and it still looks great! Sadly with the move to TX, I'm far from them back in CT. Great content Nick!
WOW! All these cars look very so nice. I like and love them. Thanks for your sharing, friend💖👍😍
Glad to hear the PPF has worked so well for you Nick--a beautiful car. I saw your original video before buying my 2022 Macan S, but did not feel comfortable with my options here in KY for PPF. Driving it home less than 30 miles from the dealer on the interstate, a rock to the hood off a trailer took the paint off in 3 places just above the headlamp. Wish I would have taken my chances with the PPF. Great video as always.
Love PPF on my cars
Omg, so genuinely epic...that intro, even more so the outro... and it s such a great fit for you and your channel! The bit of quirkiness that actually adds to the cool factor! Lol, the good old button plethora nicely put in scene (f u, touchscreen mania!), the speed part and you even got the red KITT lights for the bumper, those must stay on! Just amazing, gotta rewatch it a few more times. Thanks for this!!!
Wow I remember when you got the protection film on the Macan. Time flies!
Hi Nick, love the Thunderbird 2 sticker and the classic Kansas 👍
Wow, your car really does look brand-new again
What a cool shop, mate!😎👍 Macan looks great, Nick! Cheers/B
What a coincidence!
I was just talking about you and Will (Rennthusiast) with a fellow Porschephile the other day. Ironically it was regarding PPF here in Arizona. A state where protective film is absolutely necessary but does _NOT_ age well at all!
Nevertheless, it is always a pleasure when either of you post some new content.
Glad you are doing well brother.
Stay classy my friend.
Amazing. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
😂😂😂 great vid and fantastic service too….. until the next time 🇬🇧
Nick I’m still waiting for a video of you speccing a new 992 and giving us a rundown. It’s been our tradition nick!!
i put this film on my cannondale, i dont have a porsche, but at least my bike still looks new 10 years later.
Loved the outro 😂
Love the outro N-I-C-K 🤣🤣
The Outro deserves an Emmy
Big love for sorrel boots. Best out there
Love that green! I remember having to be talked into getting a racing green VW and it was only considered because of the interior color that I absolutely needed to have and is known has old man tan 😂.
If your getting a tune done Nick make sure if you have Sports Chrono that launch control still works and watch if your getting updates from Porsche that the tune isn’t overwritten 👍
Yep, modern good PPF (like XPEL Ultimate gloss) really does protect the car well
1:00 Any video that significantly features the hounds, especially Tui supervising the production behind the scenes, is a great vid! Carry on, digger! 🐶 + 🥝 = 🔥
PPF Review-- Featuring... the guys that installed it. Fun video regardless.
Very nice video,,,
That ending was corny and fun! Childhood memories. Macan’s looking mint.
Nick, removal of buttons was a downgrade! The new fingerprint-saturated piano black touch console looks fugly.
Agreed. I won't be buying a new Macan because of their idiotic touchscreen tech. I'll be buying a used 2018/2019 or shopping for a different product.
Love the gray Ferrari exactly because it’s unusual.
Looks amazing. Do you have to wash it differently? Obviously no waxing required?
Love the outro, Nick 😅 Or should I say "Green Rider"
Great video! Fun and informative. Question: I tried to watch closely but I'm not sure if it was mentioned if you had the headlights PPF'ed?
I love knight rider intro
Kiwi On My Wayward Son.
XPEL Prime rocks, have it on my M5 and 911
Superb fashion match ..the jacket with the car duco Nick bro.. the devil is in the detail !! lol
Enjoyed the content. Never really been a fan of PPF here in sunny California. My 992 has 3k miles and not a mark on it.
Loved this video. The Macan truly looked showroom new after the PPF refresh. @nick would love to see a video on how you care for the finish with PPF. Do you run it through automatic car washes? Did you ceramic coat the PPF? Do you use the “refresh” products available? Now that we’ve seen it after all those miles I’d love to hear about how you cared for it during that initial PPF period.
No care at all, it goes to auto car washes and gets no other coats etc.
Looks brand new! Did they do anything to the headlights?
Nick. Great video as always. Looks great. What is the cost of a full body PPF? Is the value added aspect the fact that it protects from stone chips etc?
Always wondered how PPF holds up after years.
Ducking a. It's been 5 years with the Macan?
It feels like it was yesterday when I came across this channel when your 911 was giving you problems and the video went viral. 😳
Looks like an Obsessed Garage design!
I thought the same thing with those Sonic cabinets and overhead lighting.
That's Darien ,CT, my brother worked there on the third nicest golf course in town and it had bent grass fairways and cost 30K just to walk in the door( that was in the 90s). That is an extremely well to do area, that shop is nice, competent and they can charge for their work. Not a surprise it is spotless in there.
I’ve had custom ‘cut’ jobs leave knife marks all over my Porsche. It’s all about the installer.
That's what I'm afraid of
And if they did do it a little by accident I doubt they'd say anything
@@ArtVandelayOfficial and you’ll never know until the PPF is removed & evaluate it. Otherwise the shop just recovers it again. So it’s a slippery slope
Did You use the same Brand / Product PPF this time around? Is it XPEL Ultimate Plus?
Was that the EV-modded Macan at the end? Well done Nick. You’ve convinced me!
Make the roads more colorful!!
Keep pushing to people keep buying colorful cars
Hey Nick, how about a video on the new Porsche lineup or lack of a lineup released today? Lots of GTS hybrids....
I am curious if the headlights are covered as they look great?
Hi Nick subscribed, what is more reliable the 2015 to 2018 macan base or macan s? And why?
2:55 Carry on Wayward Son!! Nick are you a fan of Supernatural as well?!
Kiwi here that lived in CT, near here. Loved CT, but god I hated the 9 month winters. Move South, bro!
Lol - nine month winters!?! It's late Feb and already feels like spring, and this has been the case for at least the last 8 years. Winter doesn't start until January now too. CT is the new NC!
Strangely the winter is my fav time of year, not one for the heat. Tui as well 🙂
@@justinclark5078 I was there until 2018, certainly didn't ring true then.
@@owainharris perception is reality I suppose. Nine months of winter is still a wild exaggeration.
You should mention whether you were paid (direct payment/cost being comp-ed or discounted) by the shop for this video.
Is there PPF on the headlights? How much does it cost to have a car done.
Python green is still available today, but only on the GTS and there are extra options pushing the price up another 15,500.
That may well be, but Nick's Macan is Mamba Green.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH Thanks. I compared the two online and prefer the Mamba Green, plus I like metallic paint.
Haha funny last bit
Nick did you do the headlights?
Tune and exhaust coming??
What are those little black rectangle things near the top of the grill? Are the emergency lights?
Laser jammers
I almost missed the Knight Rider light effect. A night shot would show it much better 😅
Hi Nick, This is Sanchit from India.
I have been following your channel since 2018. Love your videos a lot.
Could you please tell me what do you do to work for a living in the USA?
Cost?
Not too sure about the boiling kettle water on the paint at 10:13 🧐
PPF shop recommendation in Philly area?
No matter what, it still looks like a green hiking shoe.
I’ll never understand the people who say it’s a waste of money. I regret not doing my car. Yeah, I could repaint, but it would never quite be the same. The people who say it starts looking bad after a few months probably haven’t seen a really good installation.
It depends on where you live, the climate, how much driving you do, how much you care about depreciation, etc. If you live in urban California and only drive 5000 miles a year, it's probably a waste of money.
I've always had Xpel installed on my vehicles and quality installers are VERY hard to come by. Also, there is increasing debate on which film is best and a lot of people are popo-ing Xpel these days in favor of 3M or other brands. Which film is your go to?
Where the headlights done as well?
It's been how long? 😮
Pouring boiling water on the paint is crazy
Is there a guarantee that removal of PPF will not damage original paint?
