one problem with Albion. Despite being operated and tracks owned by QR, the actual land is actually owned by private developers. It was meant to have a shopping centre and residential ontop, like the valley or Toowong, but due to legal action, due to the controversal mill fire, nothing has being able to go forward. But as its privately owned land, it means that even minor upgrades are near impossible, let along a full refurbishment.

How about train /monorail/bus tunnels/anything! in Brisbane west - we have nothing but busses that get stuck in traffic!!

please write to your local mp that this is an issue you care about!! hopefully then if enough people do they will recognise how important public transport is, and work to improve it.

I appreciate that the target of this video is Brisbane residents. Anyone who's been in other contemporary underground stations in Australia will immediately recognize the similarites, e.g. natural light through the canopy, high ceilings and spaciousness, rather than marvel at any uniqueness.

Should've build with classical design, to truely represent the heritage and the culture of Brisbane, in 20-30 years, unfortunately this design will not age well and will therefore not be sustainable. Best to build beautiful classically styled architecture, will be more attractive and therefore last longer and attract more people to the city.

Brisbane is not Europe. Classical wet dreams of yours in 21st century setting and the changing climate specific to sub-tropical locality makes your proposal ludicrous!

I agree. While the design philosophy is on point, the final outcome I feel has missed the mark. Particularly Roma St, after demolishing the old hideous building, there is an opportunity to build a truly iconic "grand central" for Brisbane, really for Queensland. The glass box is ok, but just feels underwhelmingly Brisbane/Queensland, where a lot of final outcomes are just B grade. This is definitely improving in general (in Queensland), however, this Roma St design is not A grade, not world city class, will not age well. But alas, it's probably too late. Should have probably had a design competition...

Modern building styles have been the dominant building styles since the 1950s and have been around since the 1920s. I think it’s sustainable. There are some well loved modernist railway architecture around the world.

Wrong, Brisbane like any other old colonial city in Australia had classical architecture that defines the differences of each town or city unlike now which is all Glass globalist designs. @@ahkl77

if i was to build it, It would be a lot cheaper, because I wouldn't of put tiles or wall panelling in at all. Waste of time & money. All it would be is just bare concrete walls and basic lighting. Like a basement or car park. Afterall keeps the cost down. All you needed was a train station, not a fancy one. Though mine would be built with high sealed metal doors that can withstand explosions, because the likehood of WWIII is getting closer each day.
