As someone who absolutely loves history and especially ancient history this game was was crazy fun to play! Nobody talks about all the detail they have, Easter eggs, references and actual history it’s super cool and really made me felt like I was living in that time. Even just vistinf the pyramids, wow! It was a great game
42 years old at the time of writing.... Never played any ac games until I got hold of a used Xbox one which came with ac Odyssey..... It's a game I still play today, one of my favorites for sure... Tried Origin later, couldn't get into that the same way somehow, tried Valhalla and..... Well let's just say I gave up on that rather quickly.... Never tried any other ac games.
Finished Black Flag recently and it’s the most fun I’ve had playing an AC game since Odyssey. The combat is certainly “simpler” and at times frustrating. But the ship combat, scratches that Odyssey itch.
I still love Assassin's Creed Odyssey mostly because I love the ancient Greek world. My hot take is that Odyssey has the best world in the entire series.
I love the Assassin's Creed series mainly because of the historical setting. I remember studying about the French Revolution in school while watching theRadBrad's gameplay of AC Unity and it felt amazing. I could visualise the storming of the Bastille. The various historical figures, King Louis and Marie Antoinette and even Château de Versailles.. Feels surreal.
I really liked making builds in the game. The amount builds you can make with all of the engravings and skills is crazy. I did an animal playthrough a few months ago. Hell the amount of builds you can make with just animals is crazy.
I've only played AC Valhalla. I will very likely be buying Odyssey this week... CAN'T WAIT!!! I'm a big fan of Norse & Greek mythology & history so hopefully Odyssey delivers because Valhalla certainly did for me.
Instead of thinking of it as an Assassin’s Creed game, I thought of it as a Spartan RPG, and I loved it. A lot more than Valhalla which I played first, I’m just glad it wasn’t boring like Valhalla.
I'm blasting through this right now. I got this game on release day and I've never finished it. That's not to say I've been playing it for 5 years straight, but it just didn't captivate me the way that I had hoped it would when it came out Origins was my favorite game of 2017 by far. Once I picked that game up I never put it down until I finished it. I think I put a good 60 hours or so into it before finally finishing the main story. And there were areas on that map that I didn't even touch yet. But I found it so compelling to just explore and exist in that world and I really liked Bayek as a character. But what helped is that I have had a fascination with ancient Egypt ever since it was a little kid, so it was just a dream come true to explore that world I am less interested in ancient Greece. Not that it isn't a cool setting but it was just not one of my favorite periods of history or places in the world that I would want to explore in a game. So that already had a bit of a negative bias before I started. But mostly I just felt like I had seen most of these game assets before, as there is heavy Greek influence in a lot of areas in Origins, Alexandria especially of course. And then it just felt so similar with how it played, and it has such a slow start. That's the biggest thing going against it, it just didn't pick up the pace for me quick enough and I just let it sit for years. Part of that too though was realistically this game came out a month before Red Dead 2 which was the game I had been waiting 8 years for ever since the original. Nothing was going to top it for hype for me. Plus looking at it now, there's no way I would have beaten this thing in a month beforehand Finally I would say a year ago I really picked the game back up and put some time in with it. What I found was that once I got my character to about level 15 or 20, the game really began to open up and I began to really enjoy spending my time with it. I feel like because everything is level-gated it just makes you feel stuck in the first couple of portions of this enormous world because you just get your ass kicked anywhere else on the map. But once you can finally set out and explore and start doing quests on different islands, I started to just have a blast with this. It's not a good thing to say that a game gets good after you've played it for 10 hours, but damn if this game doesn't get good after you play it for 10 to 15 hours. I'm about 70 hours in now and just worked my way through a chunk of the first DLC. Still not even finished with the main game. Kassandra is an awesome character, and that says a lot to her voice actress considering she has to share mostly the same dialogue choices as if you had picked a different character as well. But she's so charismatic everything fits her character. Mostly though, I'm enjoying just taking my time with this one. It really is a gorgeous game and a joy of an environment to play around in. I particularly like when you visit Krete and do all of the quests centered around all the fake Minotaur scams 😅
So underrated game. Even if it has zero parkour, it had stealth along with godly powers, gladiator fights, massive map, land and sea, usual assassin creed stuff and my favorite: War. I was basically a king maker. I made the whole map under spartan control except Athens And bounty hunters of course, I recruit the best 😂
I will never delete Odyssey from my system because it's a game I like to revisit from time to time like GTA games. There's always something new when I jump back in. Your description of why people like it is probably right. It's the Greek setting and the charm for me. It's one of those games that makes me feel cozy. I'm not stressed when I play it. Just feels like a fun game to run around and get lost in. If there is a fight, I can just destroy them as I'm pretty much a demigod.
@@hamaguitar at the very end of the game he actually embraces it, he was using assassins before that for mutual goals. Plus assassins didn’t exist in Odyssey time. Alexios/kassandra are the near godly ancestors subject 16’s memory was talking about in AC2, it matches AC2 canon very nicely that they are demigods basically.
I loved AC 1, AC 2, and AC brotherhood. Didn’t like revelations, hated AC 3, liked Black flag, Unity was ok, Syndicate was ok, never played Orgins, only played 1 hour of Valhalla didn’t really like it, and I started playing Odyssey last week I’m 30+ hours and in and I like it, might be my favorite since Brootherhood I just wish the story was better and tighter because it’s kinda all over the place.
Bought and played when it first released like i did with every AC, hoping for AC3 again and was of course disappointed. but 5vyrs later have just started again with expectations a bit different and am digging it so far. very good looking even now on PS5. The greek setting has always intrigued me, and giving it a fair shot i am not disappointed
AC Odyssey is such an amazing game the visuals , soundtrack , combat ,etc . This has vibe of AC black flag but has nothing to do with Assassin's creed , only if ubisoft didnt mess this up this game might have been considered the best in series just as people praise AC black flag

I've spent 700+ hours in this game for me best Ac ever with brotherhood. I've finished the whole game on nightmare diff. , full stealth(except for forced combat), no ability. You just have to do %100 crit chance crit dmg build. If you wanna play full stealth you have to use "ikaros" because there is no other possibility and this is for me only negative thing. Btw DLC's was perfect about AC lore.
What a great game, first time playing it, currently level 91 "nightmare" difficulty setting. 260 hours in. When I finish Atlantis dlc I'm going to do a NG+. that's going to be another 250 hours, max out everything.
Currently enjoying go through odyssey from very beginning ones more.. For me it's best looking game ever. Origins is my second.. Liked valhalla also but it's full of bugs. Sometimes enjoying just cruising with Adrestia through Agean and Ionian sea
It may not be a traditional AC game, but still adds a ton to the franchise, regarding Isu lore. I tink Odyssey is my second favourite AC game, after Brotherhood.
The evolution of every AC game: First year: "Disappointment, we don't like new mechanics, we think it's over for AC franchise." after 5 years: "It is a good game actually, people are still playing, it wasn't so bad after all, we actually like it." 10+ years: "This game refuses to die, a true masterpiece, we didn't know what we had..."
Odyssey is probably my favorite assassins creed game so much to do along with the main story some of the dialog got changed I noticed with the last update playing for the expansion trophies I missed last time and the ps5 experience last time I did a full playthrough was on ps4 pro 👍
I never really liked AC games but I just fell in love with the world in Odyssey, it is one of my favorite games along with Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone.
If you take the AC out of Odyssey it's a damn great game. You're basically embarking on an epic journey. I do get the hate from AC fans. But Ubi nailed it with Odyssey.
I was mixed on Odyssey when it came out but RDR2 came out around that time too so RDR took my attention away from Odyssey. I went back to it a few times but finally finished it in 2021. I had just got my first 4K tv and the 60fps patch had come out. I played on my PS5 and realized how fun and beautiful the game is. Greece is so stunning and I had a blast. Its such a cool setting too that doesn't get explored much. I had so much fun I finished the game and jumped right into the both DLC. I did all of Valhalla and the first 2 DLC right after (Dawn of Ragnarok wasn't out). I have no idea how I didn't get burnt out. Still can't believe its been over 5 years because the game still looks great.
I like how you mention witcher 3. Odyssey was my first AC game, I went into it thinking "this looks like a witcher clone and i loved witcher so ill probably like it", and i did like it a lot. Ive since played 3, 4, origins, and valhalla but odyssey is still my favorite.
@@WideOldDan I think Unity parkour is better than 1,2, brotherhood and revelations tbh unless you're playing on modded versions where they people have modded more smooth parkour mechanics.
@@denizkenger52 with classic, it depends how you do it. You can make it smooth. One thing that bothers me is sometimes when jumping onto beams between rooftops the character completely stops and it ruins the flow. I know of no way to fix it
In your video about the degradation of cutscenes I commented the following. I think it fits very well under this video: My parents got me a gift and it was a bundle with Origins and Odyssey combined (two disks in one cover). So far I’ve played Origins and it was amazing. Currently I’m level 11 in Odyssey and though I don’t feel like it’s got anything to do with Assassins. If you scrap that ‘Assassins Creed’ label it’s actually an absolutely wonderful game. I play on normal difficulty to keep the RPG elements (like damage sponges and constant loot swapping) in check and it honestly works really well. For the decline in cutscene quality. I can definitely notice the difference. Odyssey has a lot of clunky moments and unlike Origins where I could absolutely appreciate every single cutscene here in Odyssey I only really appreciate a couple of them ones in a while. However the ones in Odyssey that are good look absolutely fantastic (as long as you burry that AC label lol). And for rest the cutscenes honestly don’t really bother me. I just listen to what Herodotos tells me (which is often very interesting as someone very much interested in Ancient Greece) and I enjoy the story. Still I would very much appreciate it if they would return the Origins cutscenes. Definitely adds to the experience.

I can overlook the flaws for the overall experience of the game. I did not like it when it first launched. I love it now that I gave it the full attention I never had time for in the past. I still go back and play a few hours a week, on my 4th new game reroll.
Played ODYSSEY 3000h...😂😂😂
@@zicuvalentin2251 I went back and looked at my last save file. I have over 1200 hours now that I kept playing. The 400+ was just to get the 100% the first time around.
I have more than 500 hours in that game 🤪, but I did enjoy every minute, I still have the saves, I recall I built an Assassin's set that has a ridiculous amount of damage, like 2 hits (special) kills any boss.
After AC1 Odyssey is my favorite AC game and one of my top games of its console generation.
I hated oddysey upon release. Its now my favorite game of all time. To me its the most complete open world game. Theres so much to do and new game plus makes the game never ending
Played ODYSSEY 3000h😂😂😂...
I started playing this again yesterday and was shocked to see 2 years passed since my last save. This was one of my favorite PS4 games.
Hi man just wanted to say how good and nice your content is I love your videos especially the stealth ones these are always nice to watch
Good video btw keep the good work up 😄👍
my favorite assassin's creed game by a mile
As someone who absolutely loves history and especially ancient history this game was was crazy fun to play! Nobody talks about all the detail they have, Easter eggs, references and actual history it’s super cool and really made me felt like I was living in that time. Even just vistinf the pyramids, wow! It was a great game
Played ODYSSEY 3000h😂😂😂...
@@AgentZarkov_2133 I might give it a try
I still love Assassin's Creed Odyssey mostly because I love the ancient Greek world. My hot take is that Odyssey has the best world in the entire series.
I just like it cause I get to feel powerful as hell and the world being beautiful was a plus
I just replayed this game during the Christmas holidays. Origins and Odyssey are fun RPG games
I really liked making builds in the game. The amount builds you can make with all of the engravings and skills is crazy. I did an animal playthrough a few months ago. Hell the amount of builds you can make with just animals is crazy.
Played ODYSSEY 3000h😂😂😂...
One of the best games of all time hacks down I love assassins creed been playing since Enzo days
I’ve just started playing this 3 days ago, first time playing an assassin’s creed game, and this is now one of my favourite games of all time
My personal favorite game
I've only played AC Valhalla. I will very likely be buying Odyssey this week... CAN'T WAIT!!! I'm a big fan of Norse & Greek mythology & history so hopefully Odyssey delivers because Valhalla certainly did for me.
Currently doing my fourth playthrough.
That's not to say I've been playing it for 5 years straight, but it just didn't captivate me the way that I had hoped it would when it came out
Origins was my favorite game of 2017 by far. Once I picked that game up I never put it down until I finished it. I think I put a good 60 hours or so into it before finally finishing the main story. And there were areas on that map that I didn't even touch yet. But I found it so compelling to just explore and exist in that world and I really liked Bayek as a character. But what helped is that I have had a fascination with ancient Egypt ever since it was a little kid, so it was just a dream come true to explore that world
I am less interested in ancient Greece. Plus looking at it now, there's no way I would have beaten this thing in a month beforehand
Finally I would say a year ago I really picked the game back up and put some time in with it.
Favorite ac game ever
Odyssey is not an AC game.
@@hamaguitar What you meant to say is it doesn’t play like one, but it is an ac game
@@hamaguitar More an AC game than AC Black Flag
@denizkenger52 at least Edward becomes an Assassin lol
I absolutely love Odyssey, the campaign is great and the map and graphics are absolutely stunning.
Rdr2 not winning game of the year is wild
Bought and played when it first released like i did with every AC, hoping for AC3 again and was of course disappointed. but 5vyrs later have just started again with expectations a bit different and am digging it so far. very good looking even now on PS5. The greek setting has always intrigued me, and giving it a fair shot i am not disappointed
AC Odyssey is such an amazing game the visuals , soundtrack , combat ,etc . This has vibe of AC black flag but has nothing to do with Assassin's creed , only if ubisoft didnt mess this up this game might have been considered the best in series just as people praise AC black flag
It’s good. It just wish you could see the headgear in Cutscenes. I don’t care about emotions in facial expressions, I want to see my cool helmet.
The toggle choice like in valhalla would have been nice
Best AC game I played... Gave me an amazing feeling playing the game. Amazing game

I never played assassin greed and this will be the first game I get. I’m downloading it now can’t wait
How is it so far? Are you liking it?
please not assassins GREED
I've spent 700+ hours in this game for me best Ac ever with brotherhood. I've finished the whole game on nightmare diff. , full stealth(except for forced combat), no ability. You just have to do %100 crit chance crit dmg build. If you wanna play full stealth you have to use "ikaros" because there is no other possibility and this is for me only negative thing. Btw DLC's was perfect about AC lore.
Played ODYSSEY 3000h...😂😂😂
It’s fun and the world is so nice to explore
Got it as my first assassin’s creed game over winter break this year and I have loved it. It looks better than some games coming out this year😂
Best AC title for me. It`s the only one i keep on going back.
U upload frequently af and i love it
What a great game, first time playing it, currently level 91 "nightmare" difficulty setting. 260 hours in. When I finish Atlantis dlc I'm going to do a NG+. that's going to be another 250 hours, max out everything.
Played ODYSSEY 3000h...😂😂😂
My fav 2018 games
1) AC Odyssey
2) DB Fighter Z
3) RDR2
Playing Odyssey heaps lately on my Alienware M15 hooked up to a Odyssey G51C monitor.
This was the second assassin creed game I played so it was fun
Currently enjoying go through odyssey from very beginning ones more.. For me it's best looking game ever. Origins is my second.. Liked valhalla also but it's full of bugs. Sometimes enjoying just cruising with Adrestia through Agean and Ionian sea
One of the best RPGs in gaming history, it’s a shame the only conversations about the game were about its relevance to assassins creed
Origin and odyssey are the reason I started playing those games and I love the rpg thing.
They should make a dlc in the ancient city of troy!
For me, this is the game I fell in love with.
Been playin this again with my PlayStation portal LOVE IT
It may not be a traditional AC game, but still adds a ton to the franchise, regarding Isu lore. I tink Odyssey is my second favourite AC game, after Brotherhood.
The evolution of every AC game:
First year: "Disappointment, we don't like new mechanics, we think it's over for AC franchise."
after 5 years: "It is a good game actually, people are still playing, it wasn't so bad after all, we actually like it."
10+ years: "This game refuses to die, a true masterpiece, we didn't know what we had..."
I think this game was the very best and still is imo..
Feels like origins was out yesterday.. how fast time goes
Odyssey is probably my favorite assassins creed game so much to do along with the main story some of the dialog got changed I noticed with the last update playing for the expansion trophies I missed last time and the ps5 experience last time I did a full playthrough was on ps4 pro 👍
AC Odyssey is a game i can't help but like, despite all the downsides
I never really liked AC games but I just fell in love with the world in Odyssey, it is one of my favorite games along with Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone.
the tour stuff in origins and odyssey helps a lot plus my history teacher used it to teach the class
I spent the first week of the game doing all the tours.
If you take the AC out of Odyssey it's a damn great game. You're basically embarking on an epic journey. I do get the hate from AC fans. But Ubi nailed it with Odyssey.
you may not like it but Odyssey is the best game Ubisoft has ever made.
Played ODYSSEY 3000h...😂😂😂
I really recommend playing the classic games. 1, 2, Brotherhood and Revelations are great and their parkour is the best in the series
maybe one day. i already own unity and syndicate but havent played yet, so those will be next for me@@WideOldDan
I know of no way to fix it
6 years old!😮i
RPG or Not odyssey is my most favorite assassins game of all time besides Ezio.
Mostly because im a nerd for greek mythology love the Spartans
Love odyssey
Not as an assassins creed game but as Greek rpg it’s incredible
5:46, it has A LOT of accuracy, it’s cray how much work they put in that I noticed since I love Greek history, and I mean a lot more than you realise
Still my favorite non-assassin creed game to this day
In your video about the degradation of cutscenes I commented the following. I think it fits very well under this video:
My parents got me a gift and it was a bundle with Origins and Odyssey combined (two disks in one cover).
I started Playing Assassin Creed games yesterday 😂, my first game is Ac odyssey and Ac Origins, I absolutely love Ac Odyssey
