Old Rusty Leg Vise Restoration

- Today, I will show you the footage of my Leg Vise rebuild. I bought this piece for 25€ and it was covered in rust and the jaws did not move. In this video I took it all apart, cleaned it and mounted it to a large log.
This is so far my most favourite blacksmithing tool. It is so massive and heavy-duty, but also precise. The vise will serve me very well and I expect it to last for decades.
About me: My name is Tim and I'm a 20 year old student. I got into knifemaking about two years ago, by watching videos similar to this one. Over the years, I gained a lot of knowledge and last year I built this beltgrinder to finally make my own knives. I do sell custom orders, mostly of kitchen knives, if you're interested, follow me on Instagram.
Future plans: I want to make educational as well as inspirational and entertaining videos. The topics will be setting up my workshop and mostly making knives. If you're interested, I can make a video about my beltgrinder, that I built for less than 100€, I will also record the build of my propane forge, made out of an old propane bottle. all my videos, builds and machinery are low cost but still efficient, since I'm a student, I want to save as much money as possible, but spend as much as necessary.

Nice. I just got a smaller version (about 35-40 kg ) but the spring is missing.

I haven’t been working in this field ever before and I’m proud of where I am right now. And guess what, I still have to learn a lot of things.
This video is two and a half years old, a lot has changed since then and I’m still improving.
You have a good voice for commentary; you should utilise it more and use less of that awful music.
I like to see old things restored and brought back to life, but still look respectfully aged and not polished to a mirror finish.
