The fact that this entire expansion main story and the after part makes you feel sympathy for the people who you thought were just the villains is great. Just definitely proves the whole "You're the villain in someone else's story."
5:56:46 This one line hit me so freakin' hard that I actually had to stop playing because I was sobbing so uncontrollably. For some context, my best friend and I loved playing FFXIV together. Thancred was his favorite character at the time, so I remember experiencing this cutscene with him and he was so distraught thinking Thancred was going to die here. A couple of weeks ago, I found out my best friend died in a car accident. Going to his funeral was one of the most difficult things I've ever done in my life and carrying his coffin made it that much more so. I've been playing through Shadowbringers again on a new character with my girlfriend and this scene really had me thinking about my buddy. When this line was said, it resonated so strongly with me that there are tears rolling down my face as I type just thinking about it. I really miss my friend, but damn we had some fun times together.
8:22:40 Really exemplifies the Crystarium-aligned peoples of the First. Staring down the barrel of an apocalypse, their leader missing, the Crystarium still holds true to that hope that the fight isn't over yet. Inspiring all over again
I like how the Exarch has a delicate side, but he's also someone you don't want as your enemy. Yes, he may not be a warrior like ours, but he can hold his own well enough. :)
1:39:40 This scene still gives me goosebumps. Just everything about it is so damn good. The visuals, the music, and the reactions. Honestly probably my favorite cutscene in the game.
I thought I was going crazy, but on occasion, there are very brief "La HEE"s throughout this video. They're not in the original cutscenes, so I'm guessing someone was listening to Soken's masterpiece while recording
watching this while playing the mainstory is amazing :) i want to experience the story but it just feels like too much to stop every 15 minute for a 5 minute video, especially while in discord with friends. thanks for the upload :)
Hey a new comment. Can you tell me why the Warrior of Light doesn't speak? Is it an injury, is she a mute? It was frustrating, she's the main character. I was just as frustrated with Dragoon. The dragons sound like an echo chamber with nothing audible. The only dragon that spoke plainly was at the very end when he addressed the crowd and expressed the hope there would come a time when humans and dragons could work together again as they had before. The black dragon that was slain and fell into the abyss and presumed dead had an interesting story. He appeared to have awakened, and could now speak, the scene where his master easedropped when the medallion was returned to the dragon. I know the master merged with the dragon and I got the sense that the black dragon was the good dragon and had been wronged by the white dragon. But because you couldn't make out what they were saying, couldn't read the subs without a telescope which caused me to be totally in the dark about the dragons. I was so in the dark as the history btw the humans and dragons wasn't clear which to me was just bad voicing as the dragons history with man was critical to understanding the bad blood btw them. And yes I eventually got that the humans hunted the dragons to steal an eye. Good way to piss off a dragon or human. Anyway I know someone told me where to go to read the subs, but ..tiny also, to tiny for me to read. I was disappointed bc I didn't know what the history btw humans & dragons was, or the history btw the two main dragons.
@@patriciamcclain7601 The WoL doesn't speak because they're a customizable main character of a Massive Multiplayer Online Video Game. You usually don't have MCs that have actual voiced dialogue in those.
Hello! Is there a way to get the cutscenes (with my own character) without playing/recording them? I probably already know the answer but just wanted a confirmation :) Thank you in advance!
Hello, I'm ALSO super late to this. But if you're still wondering... if you go into an Inn Room and click on "The Unending Journey " you can go through all the cutscenes there with your character in them :)
What is this garbage? Final fantasy is the only game I know of where the trailer can have nothing to do with the actual game at all... Where buddy who can change into like seven different warrior types?
The trailer had a lot to do with the actual game. There were references to past expansions and the journey that the Hero has underwent thus far. And each player (the Hero) can change into as many as 18 different "warrior types" that we call Jobs. In the trailer, the Hero started off as Samurai. He was Bard when the "Angel" showed up then went into Warrior. Followed up with Dragoon, Monk, back to Samurai. Becomes a Dark Knight at the end to destroy the "Angel". But YOU are the buddy that can change into seven warrior types. YOU are the Hero. And YOU experience the world of Eorzea in any way you choose. :)
Sounds like a case of: - Saw the cutscene. - Watched all the cutscenes for the expansion on youtube instead of actually playing the game. - "This game sucks". Try playing it friend :)
The trailer is a trailer. Very much held back to giving nods and Easter eggs to the game so far (which is amazing plot-wise) and hints as to the shadowbringers ark, so it doesn't spoil the game for sprouts (new players starting from Realm reborn) or the new content. I'm far from completing shadowbringer (I like my side quests XD) but already main 5 different disciple of war jobs at level 80, and mayhaveverycraftingand gatheringclassmaxed*cough. You can choose which ones to play at the drop of a hat. Just try the game before judging. For an MMO it's a damn good one, at least the only MMORPG to catch and hold my attention.
5:51:20 to 5:52:30 I had mixed feelings about Ryne prior to this point (or maybe even just "indifferent" would be a better word), but holy shit - this speech and everything that happened afterwards with Thancred is what really started to sell me on Shadowbringers 🖤🤍🖤🤍

I find it hilarious how the journal's replay makes it look like the Exarch's attempt at summoning seven other people in the final battle failed.
WoL "Woops forgot to turn off unsync..."
By design, even.
Im quite happy you got the Graha Tia scenes where you say the things taht MAKES HIM CRY.
To really get the right story path, you need to clear the Crystal Tower raids for the story, yes.
The scene with Tesleen always hits hard. The fact that they make the transformation slow compounds the feels I get from this scene.
it gives me chills everytime
I just saw it in the msq the other day for the first time...yeah, hits hard is definitely a way to put it

She did a phenomenal job. You could really feel the emotion and it really made me feel for her character.

Not that I know of. The only way to show cutscenes again is from the Inn.
