What a beautiful awe-inspiring surprise we received when we rode into Clarens, it is the most amazing place we have ever seen. We absolutely loved the mountains, art, shops, coffee shops, drives, and a lovely campsite called Stoppenbly where we stayed, it was so clean and the ablution blocks were lovely, situated on a farm with cows and the most stunning views of the Maluti mountains in Lesotho, There were electric fences around so we felt very safe, We took a drive just down a road in front of the campsite which was full of beautiful scenes, we had fun, as always we laughed and loved every minute of our holiday.
We were in awe of the beauty around us, what a holiday! We would definitely go back... We heard the snow is amazing in winter. We Would love to go then with the dynamic snow views...
As usual, we rate venues as we see them..
Stoppenbly camp & caravan site was above our usual standard at sites..
The hosts were very friendly and helpful, They care for campers and site seers, and they go so far as to enlighten campers about places to visit.. Also, their cleanliness in the Ablution blocks is truly exceptional. Every day they are cleaned. The showers and baths are solar water heated and is very nice to have heated water.
We Rate Stoppenbly 9 out of 10... A must-visit...
As for Clarens..... Top marks there. with a full 10!
Amazing how nature can display its glory... loved the fauna and flora
Autumn shows all the trees in fall colours eg, gold, red, orange and green...
This is a sight not to bee missed.
