I have watched a lot of your videos. They have always helpfull. In this video you missed the hard part of the job which is how to get the other three plugs out that you can;t get too.
BFD, you just pulled and replaced the easiest plug to get to. The other 3 on this side are a pain, I usually pull the front tyre, get a few universal joint socket fittings, wear gloves and prepare to piss and moan while I try to get them out. Usually do the passenger side first, then celebrate and drink a beer, then go to drivers side and challenge that side. This is a four hour job!
I own one similar to this a 2003 GMC Savana 1500 with the 5.3 V8, It was a great video showing how to get in and change the spark plugs, I would also like to see a video on how to replace the fuel injectors on that engine, I have not found one anywhere! I was hoping you guys had one, if you do please let me know Thank You for all your Video Content, it really helps!
This video DOES NOT APPLY to savanas from 95-2002. The plugs closest to the firewall CAN NOT be accessed from the cabin you MUST go from underneath the van. It's a pain in the ass on the older models of this van
I'll add that lifting the vehicle from the center will allow more acess inside the wheel well for the front plugs. On a '99 5.7L. guess I'll know if it's the same on a 04 GMC Savanna 6.0L here in a minute . Maybe someone else has a video of the other 90%>
was wondering about this as my son has a 2000 gmc Savanah 1500. the plugs are inaccessible in this manner. I guess through the wheel wells is how it is done.
I have random misfires P0300 on the two Right Rear plugs, 6+8, and sometimes the Front Left,1. Looks like those two coils have been changed and the 8 plug looks new. Sometimes a Fuel Injection code P0200. The harness covering on the Right side was mostly missing and what was left was as brittle as cornflakes. I recovered it which seemed to make it better but didn't completely fix the problem. It seems to take an hour or so of driving to make it happen. Could this misfire be from heat buildup in the back of the Dog House?
Where are people learning how to gap plugs?! NEVER just jam the gap tool between the electrodes! Bend the side electrode only. If you do it the way this person does it could break the center electrode.
Hey guys at one a auto I really find your videos super super helpful.but I just think that taking out the cupholder n nuts and n all that..shouldn't be on every video maybe you should put a link that tell you if you don'tknow how here is a video or something but other than that you guys are the best!!!
Anyone can change plugs closest to u. the trick is changing the remaining plugs. the remaining plugs are a pain in the Neck, literally!! These engines are very difficult to work on because its so hard to access anything. Let your mechanic deal with it next time you have to bring it to him for service. Trust me.
+daniel rodriguez It may be a different procedure on your application. We currently do not have an auto repair video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking. 1aauto.com
4.8 and 5.3 are identical blocks same bore but 4.8 has a different stroke and different crankshaft put finger in plug hole smooth piston =4.8 cupped piston=5.3 your welcome
hi sir I like you videos you have any recommendation for the brand of the the sparks ngk....or acdelco.. Bosch... thanks sir whit you video I can save like 180$ :)))
+RafaN1 ## It is best to use OEM spark plugs to get the most out of your engine. I would check your owners or service manual to find out which plug you need. You can also contact your Chevy dealership to find out which one will work best! I imagine it will be the AC Delco plugs in your case.
2001 doesn't seem to be this easy. How in the world does one remove the plugs from the wheel well? My wires are in the engine compartment, but the plugs themselves are in the wheel wells on a funky angle. Do I need a special tool?
+1A Auto Parts It doesn't help for the front plugs at all. Illustrating how to remove the rear and most accessible plug when the forward plugs have no clearance to get the wrench in as you have shown is a help?

Such a well thought-out engine cover design. Said nobody. Ever.
I have watched a lot of your videos. They have always helpfull. In this video you missed the hard part of the job which is how to get the other three plugs out that you can;t get too.
that's true
yea ..lol ..if it was a 2 cylinder this vid would be the bomb ..

Lol yeah right.. take the seats out. The boots themselves are a two hour job.
@@enricoderojassarson5596 I've seen videos were they suggest you remove the front tires and access them through an access panel.
Was a perfect video for my work van I have never changed spark plugs before I finished in one afternoon thank you!
Wow. Everyone should do all mechanic video like this one. Just repeat 7 more times.
+Paulo Cantu Thanks for checking us out. 1AAuto.com

And you must take the front wheels off to get at the front three plugs!

Is this process the same for a 4.3L V6?

To future viewers, I did all 8 by taking the wheels off. Not the doghouse.

Practically the same for the 4.3L Vortec V6

+Robert McDonald Thank you for your feedback!
2000 GMC savana 3500. How do you get access to the plugs? each one is covered by a metal cover, can't get anything in there,
A couple of tips: use anti seize and torque the plugs. You can figure out how to get to the plugs, and use a helper…
+Joseph Robson Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
thanks
It’s a lot easier when it’s not a tradesman’s truck that’s full to the brim with extra crap
Why not show access to the most difficult plugs? That would be more helpful.
+pora radi Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
Great video really helpful thank you so much
Where is the number three plug located on a vehicle
Is it the same for gmc savanna 2500 4.8 v8 engine ?

This video should help in removing them.

yes remove the tire and than use an extension for your socket wrench
This how to video fails to mention that you cannot access all spark plugs from inside. You have to do so from beneath the van
NOTICE he never showed how easy it was to do the rear plugs !!!!!
geez what a pain just to change spark plugs wtf
Worse engine cover EVER. Like it would've killed GM to make that cover a 2 piece split in half design. 🤦🏽♂️
not nearly as easy to access on the 5.7
Where is the knock sensor located?
+Noy Kimdy If you have the 5.3L engine we actually have a video on that! Here is is: ruclips.net/video/9kcLNY13ryE/видео.html
wow my dog house comes off to latches 2 bolts
RUclips
You spend more time showing how to deal with the dog house, then trying to get at the hard to reach plugs.
+jay frames Thanks for the tip! We'll pass this info along to our production team.
Fucking Joker:-(
Do you have a phone number for help in Spanish?
this is a joke
