Kamal Hassan’s Vikram - what a comeback. Choosing Lokesh kanagraj and executing a transformative screenplay with FaFa was the best decision ever. And I am saying this being a SRK fan , Vikram was just phenomenal as a commercial thriller.
Vikram may have been kamals commercially most successful venture... But kamal the screen writer is far far better than loki will ever be.. And his previous films termed as flop like uthama villain will be celebrated as cult classic a few years later..

Kamal hassan as vikram - that too in his interval scene is something to marvel at🔥 and the way fahad fasil looks at him with a ghost dialouge resembles a story where a student looks at his guru after a long time❤

For Dulquer Salman, it was ' Ustad Hotel ' For Fahad Fazil, it was ' Chappa Kurishu '. For Tovino Thomas, it was ' Mayanadhi'. For Unni Mukundan, it was ' Malikappuram '.
its called comeback, these movies u are saying are not comeback, these movies are what made those actors the super star, whereas for Mammooty this was a comeback
He wasn't telling about movies which raised actors to their stardom, he was telling about movies which brought back actors to their former glory after lots of failures.
Temper was not only a commercial comeback but his body transformation in that movie was impeccable as in the previous films he was either fat or lean along with that his acting was top notch. This movie proved the level of dedication of ntr to his work. This was one of the best comebacks tollywood industry.
Bro, I watched that movie in the theaters. It was a good entertaining film. But, TBH, his body was edited. The scenes where he showed his "6 pack" were just 2-3 seconds played on repeat. The actors will not accept that as it may impact the stardom .
@@randomhuman97 if you see clearly you won't even see abs clearly there, that's clearly a totally different bulk body. I don't know what made you think it was VFX his progress was clear from film to film if you observe
he did probably lose some weight, because in all his older films, he was always very chunky. also he got rid of that ugly moustache. but his abs were vfx and some scenes enhanced with make up. but nonetheless, it was definitely a good movie.
His acting is not top notch. I've always found his acting to be loud, over the top and artificial. I have never felt connected to his acting. It's my personal opinion maybe.
Temper was a very important film for jrNtr. It showed what JrNtr is capable of as an Actor if used correctly. Only Rajamouli and Puri showed what Jr Ntr can be but still there’s a lot to be explored. The great thing about Temper's comeback is that jrntr acknowledged that his previous movies were not up to mark and promised to make movies make his fans feel proud and he kept that promise with continuous successes. I think JrNtr is one of the most underused Actor in India.
Seeing Legends like Kamal at the age of 68 returning with VIKRAM and Shah Rukh Khan at the age of 57 with PATHAAN shows me that people are targeting at the Legends like Aamir Khan are nothing but just predictions for his downfall not knowing how wrong they are and he is gonna return with a bang basically the age is just a numbers for our Legends

The beauty of Tarak's comeback is that he promised not to disappoint us from then on, and he hasn't until now! The speech during the Temper's event still feels very emotional. Also, Chiranjeevi's commercial comeback with Waltair Veerayya is phenomenal! I wouldn't call it a movie of OG Chiru's calibre, but he managed almost AVPL figures with an above-average film! Terrific comeback! SRK, Kamal Hassan, and Chiru proved who the true Daddies are! 😂
Mammootty is the father of comeback,36 movies 1986 but several flop & the media reported mammootty era met end where he wakeup with industry hit in 1987 through New delhi A evertime masterpiece 🔥🔥
Kamal Hassan taking a back seat in Vikram for the sake of storytelling is a testament to the man’s brilliance. ❤️🔥 Jr ntr is a phenomenal actor who peaked at Aravinda sametha. Hope he does more films like that! Hope he doesn’t fall into the pan india trap. He’s easily one of the top 5 lead actors of Indian cinema. Again - watch Aravinda sametha for his acting prowess.
That's one of my biggest fears: I hope he never falls in the trap of just mass set pieces in a movie that does not hold up together! Rooting for his next venture to pop big time
@@TriedRefusedProductions I don't understand why u guys feel this way, he was one of the few actors right from his prime who has never interfered or for the sake of mass elements sacrificed the story. In an interview the New Delhi writer Dennis Joseph admitted that Priyadarshan was the only person who got to watch the movie before release. After the screening he immediately called Mohanlal and said the words "Mammootty is back" 🔥
Kamal Haasan is different from others in the list. He did many experimental films that fans may not able to understand during it's release (reason for failure of films) but celebrate that later. He is always ahead of time 💥
Jr NTR got very emotional during the audio release of temper and he apologised to his fans during his speech for disappointing them and promised them he’ll come back with a bang… it was a very emotional and heart warming speech… you should’ve added a glimpse of that speech in your video
Kamal Hassan comeback is on top of list considering the age at which he did the comeback... however can’t ignore the comeback of SRK either as he did this in his late 50’s also against all the hatred and negativity he had to face in the last 7-8 years... both are truly commendable comeback that can be jotted in the history of biggest comeback...
And Aamir Khan deserves a Bang like one of these at the box office as he is the only superstar who doesn't need any kind of mass comercial genre and can easily bang the box office with just a Feel Good Cinema.
lol Amir khan s career is finish aftab shivdasani bobby deol abhisheik bachhan realized their mistakes and worked on it but amir khan is arrogant just like salman he will keep doing the same thing as salman did in his movies like Bajrangi bhaijaan , tubelight but amir even surpassed salman khan he did same acting 5 times in movies like talash, dhoom 3 pk dangal and laal singh chaddha therefore Amir khan is even worse than salman khan(worst actor)
Kamal Hassan deserves every bit of commercial success. Growing up in Tamil Nadu, I've always wondered why his movies never did well when they got released- but were always praised a great deal much later. He never shied away from giving it all for a script he believed in.. Better late than never I suppose...
Have to talk about Fahadh Faasil, when his first movie had come out I remember everyone mocked him and wrote him out, people trolled his father who fyi was an acclaimed director for making the movie. Truly it was the movie chappa Kurish where people started to take note of him. Glad to see that he acting like every other craft needs to be worked on, studied and perfected
I also remember that during the time he made a comeback to the films, with Chappa Kurish, he was called the Emran Hashmi of Malayalam for the show of intimacy in the movies.

Mammootty's last year releases were another comeback for him after making some terrible films among greats like Unda, Munnariyipu, Pathemari and a few others. Rorschach, Bheeshma Parvam and Puzhu really deserve the limelight to bring Mammootty the actor back in the fray

I never thought that new generation people would actually discuss about a 1980s Mammootty movie, especially someone from North India. Kudos to the channel owner for his dedication to the movie critic business. New Delhi rejuvenated Mammootty's slumping career and cemented his superstardom. Mammootty attempted to enter cinema in 1970 as an extra, but his career did not take off as expected. So he completed his LLB degree and pursued his career as an advocate. But the acting bug did not leave him and still tried his luck. In 1980, Malayalam action superstar Jayan died while performing a stunt on a helicopter while shooting. Malayalam movie industry went into panic mode since many ongoing projects went into limbo and could result in losses worth crores. Many filmmakers went into replacement hunt and thus a plethora of actors like Ratheesh, Sathaar, Bheeman Raghu, Mammootty emerged. Needless to say, of these actors only Mammootty emerged successful. Mammootty also got into the attention of eminent filmmakers and writers like IV Sasi, MT Vasudevan Nair, T Damodaran, KG George, Bharathan, Joshi, Dennis Joseph, etc who realised that Mammootty is different from the other Jayan replacements. It was the 1980 movie Thrishna where Mammootty was cast as a last minute replacement and cemented his position as the go-to actor for all of the above directors and writers. Mohanlal, on the other hand, started his career as a villain, gradually progressing into supporting characters, and then comedy lead roles. Mohanlal was also gradually bringing his friends into Malayalam cinema, which includes director Priyadarshan and producer Suresh Kumar. It was during the same period that many directors saw the potential of Mammootty-Mohanlal combo and cast them in multiple films together. Despite an age gap of nearly 10 years, both Mammootty and Mohanlal looked like siblings and buddies and this combo clicked with the audiences. Even Mammootty and Mohanlal saw the potential and became co-producers along with director IV Sasi and actress Seema (I believe it was Casino productions). Mohanlal was steadily building his career as leading actor. Mammootty, on the other hand, was already an established actor and the favourite of top directors and writers. Naturally Mammootty had an ego and rubbed many people the wrong way. Many directors were upset with Mammootty's attitude and found Mohanlal to be a suitable replacement. One such movie was Rajavinte Makan, which the director Thambi Kannanthanam originally wanted Mammootty to be casted, but was pissed off due to Mammootty's attitude. Mohanlal, on the other hand, was humble and polite. So Thambi saw this as an opportunity and cast Mohanlal instead. Rajavinte Makan resulted in Mohanlal becoming a superstar. During the same time (1986), Mammootty faced a string of flops and the industry who, till then, saw Mammootty was a golden goose, suddenly started avoiding him like hot coal. Mammootty's career was almost written off, and many declared that he was finished, and declared Mohanlal as the sole superstar of Malayalam cinema. During this time, director Joshi and writer Dennis Joseph, who in the past had created numerous blockbusters with Mammootty in the past, were upset to their favourite actor's career ending unceremoniously. They decided to create one film as an attempt to save Mammootty's career. Thus was made New Delhi, which not only saved Mammootty's career but cemented his position in Malayalam cinema as numero uno. For many decades later, it was always Mammootty-Mohanlal, till in the 2010s it became Mohanlal-Mammootty.
@Anirudh Productions Give the man some slack. I have many North Indian friends who are least bothered about South Indian cinema. They purposefully ignore our great cinema and continue to label as Rajini Anna, Yenna Rascala, Telugu cinema's villains flying in the sky action cinema. I tried to introduce them to great movies like Spadikam, but they think Mohanlal is an overweight run-of-the-mill South Indian action hero. They don't even know Mammootty. Even when Drishyam 2 released, I recommended them to watch the original instead of the Ajay Devgan remake. But they purposefully avoided it because they wanted to cheer their hero's remake instead. Explains how the subpar Drishyam 2 Hindi was a huge success. I have observed Jammy's videos. He is unlike other North Indians and takes a lot of effort to understand our cinema. As a non-Malayalee who is trying to understand our cinema, I appreciate Jammy's efforts and I hope this write-up will help him understand the context much better.
King is King after all.🙌Not a fan of SRk but dude I never expected such a comeback in my dreams also man🤯. Pathaan is a very average affair tbh and I also saw it just because of the continuous request of one of my friend but the love of the nation towards him is unbeatable. It's collections are competing with giants like Bahubali 2 and KgF 2. I mean can you just believe it. Everyday I see the collections poster from any news portal I just get shocked 😬 Now that's what a stardom is🔥. Srk once said that "iss desh se jitna pyaar unhe diya hain utna pyaar shayad hi kisi aur ko diya hoga" and he is right he is just damn right.
I noticed something, after HNY (2014), SRK's two action films: Dilwale & Raees did over 100cr business, while his non-action films: Fan, Dear Zindagi, JHMS & Zero did less than 100cr. And now, Pathaan is his biggest hit.
@@KrishanKumar-ec1ch No it wasn't, iirc Fan went from a thriller to an action movie in it's second half while Dilwale was still a rom com with some short and almost useless action sequences thrown here and there.

Here I see that you have mentioned about Mammootty.. have you seen his comedic roles? There is one such movie - Rajamanikyam! This was such a big hit when it released! He donned a different avatar and a different accent. If you have not heard or seen I suggest you watch this movie as well. Till today everyone remembers the famous movie Rajamanikyam.
The New Delhi story as told by Dennis Joseph. Priyadarshan (Mohanlals' long-time ally and has directed so many of his iconic films) was the only person who saw the preview show of New Delhi, apart from the main crew. The first thing he did after watching the film was to call Mohanlal, and he said, "Mammootty is back." To think they were the biggest crowd pullers in 1987, and also in 2023, is pretty crazy.
Not only Jr. NTR s career peaked after TEMPER, but he changed a lot lot lot after that film personality wise. His perspective of life, atleast what we see him as changed
Mammotty himself admitted that he even thought to end his acting career due to constant failures..But New Delhi Changed It all... It became the highest grossing Malayalam movie at the time of it's release.
But even though a lot of failures, Mammootty's Avanazhi was the highest grossing movie of 1986. Snehamulla Simham was one of the top grossers of the year in 1986.
Could you maybe make a video on director comebacks? I hope to see more of my favorites (like Anurag Kashyap and Nagesh Kukonoor) pull a Yash Chopra (Chandni), but it'd be interesting to see who else did it.
Dhammu recovered 90% despite having negative talk..Jr NTR despite having string of failures all his movies were a record day 1 one after another..He was always in the league of top3 .Temper was the game changer💥
I would say Vijay and Ajith had a really great comeback in 2011 and 2012. Apart from giving failures, they had a lot of issues going on with producers and distributors. I myself being a vijay fan at those, i was made fun and even treated badly by other actors' fans. With 'Mankatha' for Ajith and 'Nanban' & 'Thuppakki' for Vijay, they became the most bankable, A-Tiers stars. The impact is Incredible till now.

Salman's comeback was fuelled by Wanted and Ready. Aamir's with Ghajini. Shahid Kapoor with Kabir Singh. Akshay Kumar has Rowdy Rathore to thank for his comeback. Ajay Devgn was on the verge of irrelevancy before Singham and even now, Drishyam franchise is his only saving grace. Most, if not all these Bollywood stars need to be thankful to south Indian cinema for saving their careers, I hope they realize that.
I beg to differ on Ajay's part. Before Singham; Golmaal series, TLBG, Gangajal, Company, OUTIM were some of his notable works. He didn't went unnoticed. Singham was his mass comeback which was a typical masala film which the audience liked back then in the early 2010s. Even after Singham, many of his films did good business at BO. Films like DDPD, Raid, Singham Returns, Golmaal Again, Tanhaji became his biggest successes. And remember, Drishyam 2 is the only remake which worked in times where remakes are being outright rejected. You can say that original didn't had a Hindi dubbed and so on, but the fact remains that a remake worked.

@@randomhuman97 Watch the making video of that song. They're clearly not edited nor vfx.

@Abrar S. salman has the most loyal fan base in the country srks flops like jhms zero fan couldn’t even cross 100 crores while salman khans dabangg 3 and race 3 made more than 100 crores despite being the worst and brutally trolled . Who has the bigger stardom and fan base here ?
@@roshansuvarna5920 SRK fans rejected bad movies like Zero and JHMS. Meanwhile Salman fans made Race 3 blockbuster. At least SRK fans have some integrity
@@stevewhite6241 integrity and box office have no connection brother …. Pathaaan became the biggest blockbuster 80 percent only cause of Srk comeback and the controversy . It’s above average…… so many mid movies became blockbuster because of actors fan following like Chennai express ,etc
@@stevewhite6241 what integrity and all bro ...who have the most loyal fanbase its clear cut salman cause if content is good anyones movie can do well but if there is salman and content is not even good it collect 100 crore above and thats the stardom ...
@@roshansuvarna5920 you are comparing flops in Salman's best phase to SRK's bad phase
Fyi, salman's flops before wanted did 1 lakh footfalls in its opening day, lost clash to rakhi sawant
Damn !!! Soorarai pottru should have released in theatres 😭😭
For Vijay, I remember it's Ghilli, Pokkiri, Velayudham post 2010s and since changing his title from Ilaya Thalapathy to Thalapathy, it was Mersal.
For Ajith, it was Dheena and then his anti hero ventures like Vaalee, Mankatha.
For Suriya, Kaakha Kaakha, Ghajini and Singam-1
The moral is, don't get distracted from your target, just keep trying one day or next you gonna hit it hard for sure 🔥
I wish Dennis Joseph's videos for Safari TV were subtitled. Him talking about how New Delhi came into fruition is as engaging as the movie itself.
NTR said it to audiance in audio launch event that, he failed to give what fans and audiance want from his previous movies, so from now onwards I will make you proud, with every movies he said it and proved it. From then he had 6 consistent hits, without fail
Number 10
Pawan Kalyan (Gabbar Singh 2012)
He was going through a lot personally and his movies from 2009-11 were the biggest disasters, Puli (A God awful big budget commercial movie), Teenmaar (Horrible remake of Love Aaj Kal) & Panjaa (a good movie but commercial failure).
He remade Dabangg in 2012 and came back with a bang and followed with an industry hit like Attarintiki Daredi.
Yes he's in a slump, currently, due to his involvement in politics & lack of interest.
So yea
That's the reason he isn't in the list
Although not a fan of STR... "Maanadu" is considered as a Strong comeback for Simbu especially in our state Tamilnadu
He definitely killed it with that film! I heard he has had a tumultuous career, with many personal setbacks. I like VTK too. I hope he does have consistency ahead!
Salman Khan come back is the most and the bestest of all as post the comeback he really ruled the bo and he still ruling one can see the public reaction on his entry in pathaan though it was srk film Salman's entry is when PPL started whistling and hooting...that's the stardom he got
I think the cameo in Pathaan has built the hype for Tiger 3 like no other bollywood movie. i think it can really give Pathaan competition commercially
".....to Picture Abhi Baaki Hain Mere Dost!!" is more than just a movie dialogue! ❤ These stories are not only astonishing but also make us believe in the power of Hope! Thank you for making these anecdotal Vids, Jamm, keep'em cominn ❤
What Thupakki did for Vijay and what Mankatha did for Ajith also..its missing from the list
Even Ajith's another anti hero venture Vaalee can also be included, Vijay's Ghilli, Pokkiri, Mersal, etc.
Mammootty🔥
Salman in Wanted is something he himself can never top
There was just something different about him in that movie.
An aura never seen before
The True Comeback and Never going wrong from then is of NTR.
He made a promise on the Audio release of Temper that he would only make such movies for which his fans can raise their collar.
A man who delivered continuous flops for over 6-7 years came back with Temper. Thereon he delivered only blockbusters
simbhu -maanadu(after a decade of duds after vtv )
vijay-theri(after disaster like puli)
ajithkumar-mankatha(after back to back disasters)
allu arjun-ala vaikuntapuram lo(after a 1and half year hiatus)
rajnikanth-chandramukhi(after a flop like baba)
pawan kalyan-gabbar singh (after a string of flops)
chiranjeevi-waltair veerayya( blockbuster after comeback)
balayya-akhanda(biggest blockbuster after legend)
ramcharan-dhruva(after a flop like brucelee)
mb -srimanthudu(after an unfortunate disaster of 1 )
raviteja-krack and dhamaka(both films came after a string of flops)
Looking back at Fahadh's return and having followed his work all these years post his second coming, He really didn't come back to take part. He came to take over. Future legend.
SRK comeback and that too against peak negativity 🔥🔥🔥
Bajrangi Bhaijaan 🔥 The Movie that brought Salman Khan back to "Acting" 😆 🤣
I think he was exceptional in Sultan as well! It solidified in my mind that Salman and a brilliant performance is all about him being interested in making an effort! I hope he does the same with Tiger 3 and has a banger
If acting refers to speaking lightly 😒
@@stevewhite6241 The role was much more than just 'speaking lightly'.
True ,😂
@@TriedRefusedProductions I think hsi acting range is very limited
Thuppaki for thalapathy Vijay biggest comeback of Indian cinema 🔥
