Awesome perspective from a guy who's been doing it a long time. Great to have Josh join the show! (I think he is optimistic about 2024 like the rest of us...)
We've been singing this same song for 20+ years. Some seasons have went ok...the majority ends in disappointment 1 way or another. Long time fans have had their heart ripped out sooo many times the last decade, of course we're guarded, we SHOULD be guarded. All that being said....this does feel different...and I feel good about where we're going. I want 10 wins....but my heart will be happy with 6 or 7. We just need to learn how to finish...we HAVE TO FINISH GAMES.
Agreed Joe. It's hard not to have those lingering doubts. I think we break through this year. Whether that means 6 or 8 or 10 wins, we'll see. But I think the program is definitely moving back in the right direction under Coach Rhule. Thanks for watching, GBR for LIFE!
Good discussion of the expectations for year two. On the positive side It seems like we have solid depth at WR, RB, DL and LB. Feels like for a long time we were struggling to cobble together a starting lineup; now we seem to have dudes on the 2-3 deep at many positions. They are concerned about RB but if we have a legit passing game, that should open things up for the RB's. They will not expect the QB to run (other than maybe a Taysom Hill type roll for Haarburg) but the QB's need to get the ball to the recievers better then we have basically ever (except maybe under Callahan but now with better receivers). They touched on DB being a question mark; I would add kicking and OL to the list. I'm more concerned about them than RB. OL may be fine but I'm a bit uneasy after the struggles there the last several years and TP out. As they said, Rhule has called his shot and is saying year 2 here is like year 3 at Temple and Baylor. My hope is the defense at least stays the same ppg wise - maybe with some more sacks and TO's while the offense adds 10 ppg and subtracts TO's. Should be interesting. PS- one other reason for optimism is that having a legit defense to practice against should help the offense prepare. The previous times they have tried to develop at modern offense (Callahan and Riley) the defense was in decline and that probably makes it difficult to know where your offense really is at.
@DillyPutty - lots of good points here, appreciate your comments. You make a good point about Haarberg, wonder if/what kind of special packages they might have for him. Could be a good curve ball for opposing defenses. Kicking game is a huge concern for me. If we want to win close games, we can't be missing easy FGs. Overall optimism is high. GBR for LIFE!
Let's hear from you Common Fans - will 2024 be better than 2019?
Put me down as a YES.
I don't think anyone expects another bowl-less year, regardless of how the season unfolds. Rhule has said that's the bare minimum expectation.
Best defense since 2010 and an improved offense with less turnovers?...signs point to yes.
@@DillyPutty Absolutely. I get the sense from a lot of the fan base that 6-6 would be a disappointment at this point. Thanks for watching!
@@chancenewman1803 Believe the defense will be elite. Let's hope the second part holds true! (For the record I'm a believer). Thanks for watching!
Had a blast chatting with Josh. This is it. This is the year it all comes together.
You know it Geoffrey!
Hell yes Gee-Off!!!
Josh is in my opinion, one of the most objective covering the Huskers. Exciting to hear he has high hopes for this year too! GBR 4 Life!
Absolutely MattyO!
You know it MO!

Absolutely appreciate that perspective. That said...IT'S TIME TO BELIEVE IN NEBRASKA FOOTBALL AGAIN!!!!
Great conversation with Josh. Ended up being a pretty deep dive into the 2024 team. Season can't get here soon enough!
Amen to that!

Absolutely! Appreciate you watching!
Josh is so right about Raiola being a dude. Mature beyond his years. With receiver corps and TE’s Results could be special.
@galenroot4099 I'd even take average but they do have a ton of weapons. Let's go!!! Thanks for watching.
Can't wait to see him get after it! GBR for LIFE!
Because in 2024 we have an actual adult running the program. Not an arrogant child.
This is a simple yet powerful point.
Chasing 3: missed FG's to made FG's. Settling for FG's to touchdowns. Least that was my take.
Against Iowa we are running with the ball and it just pops out? We only lose to Michigan last year without the curse.
We need the
Demonic curse to pass
1 dude talks for 58 minutes the other 3 dudes, 2 minutes.
That's because he's the guest
Josh sucks, 2 min I will never get back.
