READ THIS - IF YOUR SLIDING DOOR IS STUCK AND UNABLE TO OPEN. I was unable to open driver side sliding door for months (no buzzing noise from lock mechanism on this side). The manual lock actuator for this door was stuck and could not be forced. The tip about pressing the unlock button and forcing the manual door lock at the same time worked to release the actuator!! KEEP IN MIND... This did not work when using the unlock button on the remote... I had to use the unlock button on the driver door. Now the door lock on this side works fine (like it was never broken). Not sure how long this will last but at least I can open the door currently.
Update: FYI... 9 Months later, the door lock is still working fine...

My bit of advice: DO NOT remove the 4 screws holding the window regulator mechanism on the panel, if you do, you will have to rewind the wires on the spool and it must be done the right way to avoid having the control sequence reversed at the control button. The motor can be removed but do not remove the 2 screws holding the spool mounting plate in place.

Thanks very much for posting this video. I had a similar problem, but it turns out the lock mechanism was jammed due to lack of lubrication, and the motor could not move it. It did hum or make any noise at all. Once so freed up the mechanism and lubed it, everything worked. But, your video helped me get to the problem.

Get a hex to 3/8, or better yet a 1/4" adapter to remove these screws and bolts with your impact driver.

Very smart actually to disassemble PRIOR to ordering. Nothing worse than doing the job with a wrong part already in hand...

Gets to hardest part, skips it in the video, takes whole window out, says about impossible to put back cords "oh I'll get some help with that."

Unless you know how to take out a window yourself don’t start on this project because you’re going to take everything apart and once you get to remove the window you’re not gonna be able to do it he should have recorded that part because that part is the most important

@@dylanlindsay4353 - you can also use wood shims jammed between window and body to hold the window up in place.

Did you get your door to work? I had to hold down the unlock button inside the door and press unlock and lock on the key fob. That was the only way I was able to open door.

5 stars from me, as you confirmed the central lock motor is my issue with the noise, second... fair play for the video is not the best but made me realize not and what to do, as when i started doing this i would of made some ofbyour mistakes also... as for the techs, i only had to do this myself as in england when you walk in a garage with issue like this they laugh at you and refuse the work....

Way too many steps. You disconnected a lot of stuff out of order and didn't need to remove the window, or window regular. Nice try for a first timer. Also, you should always take pictures as you go so you can see what it should look like as you finish.

The problem I had was the door was shut. The lock motor had failed so I could not undo the door. I pulled the panel half off (front of panel is attached with screws that can only be undone when door is open). I got heavy handed with lock connecting rod and it moved! That fixed it! Lucky me I now dont need to go any further at the moment. I have a UK 2013 Grand Voyager.
