the problem is that this kind of circuit they use (polarity detection) can be of no use IF the battery to be charged has ZERO voltage across it's terminals. It may never initiate charging. Just a heads up
I did the exact same but when I charge it it starts charging normal until few seconds it feels me it’s fully charged but when I insert the battery it tells me it’s not charged?

Which side are you meant to charge the battery on, I've got one side that shows the plus and minus and the other that doesn't. Does it matter??
