- The Joyo AC Tone Pedal reproduces the sound of a Vox AC30 amplifier -- that classic crunchy, punchy British rock sound all guitarists dream about. Great for use as a versatile overdrive or boost pedal bursting with tonal options. You're sure to find the right tone with the number of adjustable parameters onboard - Low, Mid, Highs, Level, Drive & Voice.
This has a normal bypass method (it's not true bypass). The super tough aluminium alloy casing will last for years.

Sounds great with the Strat, the mid anf voice with the treble set like 1 oclock really does get an AC 30 top boost tone. I had a 60s top boost but it only came to life at 90% volume.
Thanks for sharing!
The second you strummed that one chord at 2:10 I was instantly convinced! I'm a big fan of Number Girl, Ribbon Fix and all kinds of emo/indie rock bands and they all have incredibly punchy and jangly tones. I always wondered how they got that tone and tried to recreate it on my own but failed. I now see that the amp is much more important than I initially thought. This thing rocks!
Hey Rod good to see you.
It's got the AC sound in portable form alright.
From what I've heard this entire Amp in a Box Joyo range do a good job.
Hi Pete. Yes, they’ve got them sorted alright. The American Sound is on my pedal board at the moment,. I’ve done three gigs with it as my amp, running straight into the PA. Gives me a similar tone to running my Fender Blues Deluxe.
Great video! It really does sound like a Vox! I heard the Beatles immediately if that makes any sense lol. Very cool! Watching your Joyo American next
I saw another review of this pedal and I was all set to NOT buy it because that reviewer couldn’t get a clean sound out of it and it really didn’t sound like a Vox but you’ve changed my mind, you really showed the range of this pedal, well done and thank you!
No worries at all, mate! I’m glad you found it useful!
I actually forgot I had one of these and just got it out of storage. Great overview and demo you did here! I’ve been playing with some amp sim plugins for recording and now am curious to try this against that for testing. Either way I am going to keep it in my gig bag now.
I’ve bought different plugins and amp sim pedals and keep coming back to these boxes, as a clone they are amazing and I feel the tech 21 would be the better option only because you can bypass the speaker emulation
Great review video!
Thanks mate! You’re a little rippa!
Gracias🎉
Good demo, one of the better ones 😊
Wow, thanks!
Very good video. Also that Hard Days Night chord never fails.
Thanks for dropping by and stopping to comment. You are so right!
I've got one of these in my gig bag as my backup amp.
Great sim for small gigs though my pedals and PA.. like you said. But, nothing beats the feeling of vibrations thought a cab, rattling your bones😛
REAL Tremelo with two AMP cabinets
Good job mate!
Thanks Legend!
The Voice sounds like a midrange placed in an earlier gain stage.
Buen video💯
Nice!
Thanks mate!
esta genial ac tone
Yeah it's OK. The American version is by far the most usable one, especially as last in line directly into your DAW as it has an IR built in.
Best pedal around when used properly…with a boost/overdrive in front it becomes a monster…
awesome, thanks
You're welcome!
That thing actually sounds pretty bad ass. I have an AC15C1 and the joyo sounds pretty damn close to a vox. Would it sound good through an AC15C1? Idk if it would be too bright and jangly.
Trying to out Vox a Vox?
You could run it as a boost/overdrive. Set your amp as clean as possible and have the pedal as your crunch/dirty tone.

Genial
Voxeh! \m/
It can sound fine into an amp also and i don't actually prefer it for direct over my usual direct setup, an amp plus simulator...
hello my friend, it can be set to a normal aux amp without effects?
🎉🎉🎉
How do you keep the noise down? Apparently it is noisy….
Do not turn any of the knobs past 3 o'clock and you'll have almost no noise.
Does ithave an internal. Cab sim?
I use one live, direct to the pa. It sounds great. So the eq must resemble a cab. But it’s flexible enough in tone shaping to run into a guitar amp as well.
Where to place it in the pedal board?
Right at the end!
I put my comp/drives/etc before and chorus/delay/reverb after in the chain. Works well!
Ferg is singing to that one
I can see it’s going direct so it must be simulating a valve amp for Ferg to like it. They are his fav ❤
I miss Ferg. He’s a big fan of valve amp sims and his ear for impulse responses is second to none!
He watches your videos and gets excited when he hears your voice
hi Rod, if using this pedal direct into a PA (using it to replace an amp), do you need a DI box?
Not at all. I’m using the American at the end of my pedal board, straight into the pa via a guitar cable.
How do you connect the pedal to the computer? Thanks!
The pedal has a standard 1/4” jack socket output which you connect to your computer via any audio interface with a line level input. I use one of these:

@@thepedalpicassosThankyou for your answer and time.
How would this be as a pre-amp in front of like a fuzz pedal? Or just a pre-amp in general.
It’s a great preamp! I’d put the fuzz first though.
Never go ampless !!!
