I’m Irish and I find the Notre Dame logo no way offensive like most people do. I find it stupid that people like Max Kellerman ASSUME that we are offended. You can't compare centuries of oppression of people of color, to white Irish.
First of all, Irish are white and you can't be racist towards them.
Second, the Fighting Irish mascot and name was never at all meant to make fun of Irish but to actually make them look cool and badass. Compare that to the Redskins and Indians, it was meant to mock and make fun of them by depicting them in racist stereotypes - also no Irish person was ever offended by it, it was only brought around by racist trolls especially online to defend the use of the Redskins and other racist team logos/names by saying "OH LOOK THE IRISH ARE GETTING MADE FUN OFF TOO!!" when in fact it was never an issue and only a stupid talking point brought up by right wing trolls to detract from the issue.
