    Watch between 2:34 and 2:35 if you can....that was car control, skill, balance and that "talent" Raikkonen was reknown for. Just a lift and back on the throttle. Rear sliding perfectly 100% commited.

    • @theelf152
      @theelf152 2 года назад +1

      @Mitchell G You don't know what your talking about. Freeze it @2:34 & you will see half of Kimi's car is over the racing line and onto the kerb. And if you observe very very closely he's actually corrected with the slightest of opposite lock, meaning he slid all the way through that..something only Raikkonen can do at those speeds with that level of precision.

    • @theelf152
      @theelf152 2 года назад +1

      Exactly, he looks like he's actually sliding even on entry (very slightly) even before he's over the kerb, but that's the brilliance of Raikkonen, we need to freeze it to see his work. As you say @ 2:34 you can see the slight opposite lock when frozen. In real time you can barely notice it and looks like he never even backed off- just beautiful to watch. I'm no professional but that exactly how I like driving.

    • @adamkhan5274
      @adamkhan5274 Год назад

      Its the "talent" of a Raikkonen, the pure feel he has of the rear sliding.@@theelf152

      @@cbrend22 @cbrend22 If there was the SLIGHTEST doubt of oil leak, than Kimi would've been told to abort the lap since we know how serious they take safety in motorsports. And ofc I cannot drive an F1 car as fast as they do because I am not trained for it. Also taking into account how CALCULATING Kimi is, it is not very sensible to call it pure bravery. Ofc bravery is involved the moment you step in the car, this case is much more of a calculated risk.

      @@TroystonB thats why he only has 9 podiums in 13 years of f1. Maldonado and Grosjean were both gp2 champions and we all saw them in f1. Nobody says they were extremely good and Maldonado is basically a living meme yet even him won a race unlike Brundle. If Brundle was extremely good he would have beaten rookie Schumacher but he lost out in points and wins. Quali was even more embarrasing with 16-0 in Schumi's favor. And about him beating Senna in f3. Brundle only outraced him in two races that year. Senna recorded 12 wins that year Brundle 6 but Senna had 5 retirements and he missed a round whilst Brundle had only 1 retirement which is the reason they were close on points in the first place... Check the statistics 1983 F3 championship and see for yourself... His "I almost beat Senna in F3" story can only get him so far. He was in f1 and did nothing end of discussion...

They should be giving him full credit as a Racer who is aware of what happening , even if there is a risk it's a lot less for someone as aware as he obviously was to notice in that situation.
