This video popped up as I was browsing RUclips and I wanted to say thanks for this tutorial. I have been dreading using Gutenburg because I'm extremely busy trying to build my business website and really don't have time to learn an entire new way to write my posts/pages, but from watching your examples, it looks like just a lot of selecting what you want and learning where all the functions are. I like the idea of the reusable blocks since I use footers of common content in every post/page on my site, and that's going to make it easy to make big site-wide updates all by only needing to edit one block. Maybe Gutenburg won't be so bad after all, and I subscribed to your channel.
This is a very helpful tutorial to get started. I wish I had watched 2 weeks ago, it would have saved me time. Even so, I gleaned some helpful nuggets from this. Watch it before you start!
This is a great video! Thanks for the rundown and very good job. Have a nice day :)
I'm glad I found your videos my friend. You have been very helpful to me. You have a brand new fan in me. You have my support.
I love learning and doing things myself. always wanted to learn html, css, ect but never had the time as I am running a business myself. this is going to help me a lot. thanks Mak for your easy to follow presentation
Thanks! Great, easy tutorial!
Thanks Mak. A very informative and instructional video.
Great Stuff for Gutenberg! Just awesome to know its initial things
Excellent. Thank you. So helpful. I signed up for your Mastery Course.
Thank you for this!
AWESOME as usual, dear Mak!
Thank you so much.
But what about DIVI? I am worrying very much...
Hi Mak. A very worthwhile video to watch. Thank you. A question--and I'm not really sure what component is responsible---how do you change the overall width of the page? It always seems that there is quite a border/margin on the left and right sides. Cheers.
Thank you for the post
Great video! Thanks you. Will this integrate with Elementor Pro?
ok looks good I understand, now Will it interfere with Divi? Thanks for the Videos too
Nice intro video ... but you completely ignored the blocks tab ... are you able to create and save custom blocks or can you only use predefined blocks that come with Gutenberg?
Need a quick answer while Im exploring, is it possible to change the default block's markup structure? for example removing '' for Gallery block
Hi, can you put a picture in a column and put text right to it?
who did you get the text settings? l cant get it on mine :(
The link to free WordPress course is not working.
You know what was great about TinyMCE? It was just like using OO Writer or MS Word. You know what sucks about this? It isn't and over thought out.
What is the thought process of this? Why is it even advantageous to use blocks from a post
perspective? I see people like it, but why? It may seem neat, but how will this make someone's work easier? I really must be missing something.
Can I wrap text from multiple blocks around images? Can I copy text across blocks to paste? etc.
I don't want to build a landing page. I want to use the Theme that I learned for my work. I changed to Gutenberg as I had a notice to update. Did not know that I could not go back to the Classic. I have tried every way I know to follow your instructions and I don't have the same screens shots that you have. I am at a complete stand still with my website because I don't understand all the technology of building a landing page. I was told that I do not have plugin rights. What's that all about? I am willing to learn your this new editor. But nobody mentioned not updating or using a new site or whatever until your editor is ready. I saw no place on your support page that allowed me to contact you with my concerns. Since I don't have plugin rights how can I get back the classic editor? Thank you
I had to learn this the hard way. Go to Divi in the dashboard and select theme options go to builder then enable the latest divi builder and classic editor
When adding column blocks or a video block, I keep getting "This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed." Is there a special theme that must be used? I want to include video, as in the Twenty Seventeen theme, but it doesn't like Gutenberg.
Is Gutenberg gonna affect Woocommerce sites or is it just about blogs?
There are already plugins available for Gutenberg and WooCommerce, so they will all play nice together. Bear in mind that Automattic owns both WP and WooCommerce.
PortMacOnline do I need those plugins or should I just wait for something directly from Woo?
A Deus, don't sweat it, wait until Guttenberg is officially released and then we can all see what works best with what.
Hi again, could you, please, be more specific about uploading pictures. When uploading multiple photos, they appear unaligned and do not match the text and single photo width. How can I fix this, as I want to put 2 pictures on a row and everything to look uniformed. Thank you!
I'll bet this does not support bootstrap responsive div-classes in a easy way. Am i wrong?
Major page builders will adapt to this, smaller ones may not.
How does Elementor work with Gutenberg?
It's one or the other, I think.
YOUR SOUND IS BAD I WENT TO ANOTHER VIDEO STRAIGHT AWAY, BUT CAME BACK TO GIVE U POSITIVE FEEDBACK BROTHER
There is no option to edit slug/permalink of a page/post.
There is, I complained about this as well. First save a draft of that post. And click inside the title of the article.
Vjatsheslav that's a pretty bad workaround... easy to forget the save as draft step and then I imagine you quickly have a mess
It looks horrible set out for mobile only from the narrow column width - thank goodness other page builders are not going this way
time, learning curve, poor documentation, bugs, here we go again. I have other things to do frankly - choice should be given to not use this editor at all, ever. My clients will love this, NOT. Learning curve for them as well, more cost incurred???
What a nightmare. Not the presentation, that is great.
Why the F#@$@ would I want to create blocks for a post? uggg
really dont understand why WP pre-install this REALLY CRAPPY Gutenberg editor.
