That's the value of kettlebells, you get the most out of them by varying your training between endurance and strength.

I finished one of Neupert’s programs, so I decided to do my own program for fun for a few weeks. I mixed HS, GS and calisthenics. Day 1 C&P and FSQ, day 2 C&J and snatch, day 3 a bunch of pull ups, dips and goblet squats. And you know what, it’s exactly what I intended it to be. Fun. Both styles are great.

Hell yeah!!! That is rad that you ended up blending both styles and started putting something together that's fun for you! I say it all the time, but when it comes to sticking to exercise long term, finding something you enjoy is where it's at. Cheers, to keeping training fun! 🤘

Let's gooo!! I do both as well, and I like them both for different reasons. I think it's good to have both in your back pocket!

Coming from a sport background I haven’t really trained hard style until very recently (stopped competing) and actually really enjoying the lower reps and less wear on my hands! Which leads me onto my question: do you have any advice for the catch on the snatch downswing? It has always been my Achilles heel and really curtailed my numbers.

I’m stoked to hear that you’re enjoying the lower reps of hard style! That’s awesome that you decided to give it a shot.
As for the snatch, I actually have a video that breaks down the whole movement including the drop from the top.
I have found most helpful is rotating my palm towards me while my weight towards my heels which creates a counter lean against the kettlebell’s weight, The keeping the kettlebell closer to my hips on the drop.
The other piece is Jumping the handle from the heel of my palm to the root of my finger on the descent, which is initiated by the rotation of my palm towards me while I kettlebell is still overhead. Hope this explanation helps!

interesting video. I'm confused though, that seems like a lot of weight. What's appropriate for a beginner male? I have only 1 40lb kettlebell and just lift it 3 x10 reps, which is nowhere close to 2 x 70 lbs for 10 minutes.

@@NoDoubt747 that was just an example I gave of what professional kettlebell sport athletes use in the make division (the pros are incredible). As for a beginner male, the most common starting weights I see used are 12kg, 16kg, and 20kg (26 lbs, 35lbs, and 44 lbs). If you want more help selecting kettlebell weights and more beginner-friendly tips/exercises feel free to grab a copy of my free kettlebell size guide 👇 I have a ton of helpful info I can send your way to help get you kickstarted with the right weights 👍 hope this explanation helps!
